Stumbled upon this place accidentally and so glad I did! From the moment my friend and I walked in,…read morewe had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. From casually browsing turning into a full blown candle making experience, Devon led the way and did not lead us astray! Foxfire made made creating my own candle so easy and enjoyable from start to finish. Devon was incredibly helpful, friendly, and made the whole process feel special. There were so many amazing scents to choose from and blend together, it was so hard to narrow it down to just my favorite three or four! And how do you know which scents blend with which?! That's where Devon steps in and she crafts her special magic and helps us know how and why certain scents go together. I loved being able to create something completely personalized from my scent, to picking out the container, to creating a label and name for my candle - it was also personalized! The atmosphere was cozy, creative, inviting, and relaxing - the perfect spot for a fun outing or a girls' day (we ended up using this at my special birthday treat for my friend since her birthday was around the corner). My candle turned out amazing and smells incredible. I'll definitely be back to make more!

They were also super patient with us and we all want to come back and bring our moms. I also loved they had premade candles that supported local dog rescues. I could not have had a better experience!

We had a great time celebrating Mother's Day here at The Candle Bar! This was our first time making…read moreour own candles and we couldn't have asked for a batter instructor. We came in late (due to the limited parking) so I missed the name of our instructor but she was friendly and knowledgeable. I believe it's about $55-60 per person and each person gets to make two 7oz candles. Personalized touches Include: scent choice and naming the candle. The scents here are great! It was fun exploring all the different notes and profiles. The class is about an hour and everything is provided. As a "student" you get to melt down your wax, smell/ pick your scents, mix scents, pour wax, mix the candle, add your wick, and label your candle. The process is really fast. The longest part is waiting for your candle to cool down/ dry. We were given an estimate between 3.5-4 hours. So plan your day around the area or come in the following day for pick up. Overall, we had a great time and I would recommend this to anyone who is interested. Perfect for solo date, girls night, date night, etc.

Cute little activity for you and the gals!…read more You get to make 2 candles for 55+tax. Thankfully the steps were simple, so it wasn't hard to follow. Most of the struggle was picking the scents. You get a max of 3, and a little shot sized cup to pour your oils into. There's a coffee shop up front and several nice clothes/ceramics/other items for sale.

I had the most horrible experience at Ulta Fairfield with Lorna C. Her profile says "elite stylist"…read morebut I'm unsure how she got that title being that the only hair she can service is someone with straight hair. Her profile also says that she services "curls, coils and waves" this is obviously not the case.  Today April 26 I had an appointment for my 12 year old daughter, Rosalyn for a twist out style. Rosalyn came in with two buns. Ms Lorna was working on an older white lady and when we walked in her attitude changed. She said to me in front of everyone "IS HER HAIR DETANGLED?? HER HAIR NEEDS TO BE COMBED OUT!" I said "yes her hair is detangled it's just in buns." I did detangle her hair before coming in she only had gel left over that needed to be washed out. Ms. Lorna then gave me a brush and dismissed me to comb my daughter's hair. I combed through it again while she finished up on her clients hair, which was very embarrassing. After combing out Rosalyn's hair I told her to go ahead and sit in Ms. Lorna's chair and this time she tells me "I don't think I can detangle this hair because.." and she points at her wrist. She did not even ATTEMPT to comb through her hair she simply said she can not do it. At this point I just said okay and we left with out getting any service done. No apology. No nothing.  Black women and little girls already go through stigma and negative stereotypes about our hair being "difficult" and hard to manage. And usually it by our own race unfortunately. That's why they are always pushing perms because they are just lazy.  I try to shield my child from that as much as possible but today she saw the ugly side. We sat there and watched this lady give this white lady the best customer service and then treat us like crap. My question is this Ms. Lorna, how are you an elite stylist and can not comb through hair?  Needless to say I will never visit Ulta in Fairfield because of the discrimination that my daughter and I experienced today!
