This is my experience at this location and with an assistant manager and using credit card points to get gift cards to use at Bath and Body: I got these gift cards on a Tuesday before I went to this location the first time which was a Wednesday. My boyfriend had points on his credit card for spending so much money on it. So with the points we got $200 in gift cards so that I could go shopping for hand soaps with it. I was only there for the necessities that I need for the house, and a couple things that I am really wanting I live in Paola and work 6am to 6pm I'm not there to make grief, I'm wanting to get in and out so I can go too bed by 9pm. I go in there I pick everything out, this lady swiped my 4 gift cards 4-5 times each. But, anytime they were swiping the gift cards it was taking the money off the total. They tell me that there machines must be down. I understood that, so they tell me to come back the next day and they were gonna call customer service and figure it out. So I do, I'm waiting behind 2 other customers, the girls at the register had gift cards! They used them no questions, didn't tell them to come back tomorrow. They went through just fine. It's my turn to do the whole checking out my items for the second time. They start swiping away trying to "figure out what's wrong with these specific gift cards." They end up calling customer service again to figure out why it's not working. Now this same lady I had the previous day (she was the one who swiped my card 4-5 times) is telling me that there's no money on these cards and to come back on Friday to go through the same trouble. This lady was pretty much telling me to ask around and make sure they were activated thinking I might've stole them if I'm having this much issues. I confront this lady and tell them, "that's funny, I just came in here yesterday with $200 on these cards ready to purchase my items I chose, I checked them. I come back in and conveniently there's now no money on my cards. Your machine took the money." Of course she's telling me that they'd never do that, questioning me if I was sure that these were activated cards, she ends up calling customer service AGAIN. She ends up telling me to write my email and they're giving me my money back with e-gift cards. Perfect situation, right? You'd be asking yourself why I only gave them 1 star and not 5 because they "took care of the situation" I only got partial money back. They lost 3 loyal customers to this Bath and Body we will not be shopping at this location again. We'll make the effort to drive the extra 10 minutes to get to the Oak Park Mall location. They at least know how to use gift cards, but they did know how because they literally had customers IN FRONT OF ME that used their gift cards without ANY ISSUES. Please take my advice and learn how to look back at transactions so you don't have to call customer service 4 times. Saves ya'll the trouble and hassle. Funny part is, is this lady claimed to be an assistant manager. You'd think somebody in that store would know how to look back at months even years of transactions, just to make sure that the machine didn't take the money. Hope people never have to live through the anxiety and very stressful experience I had to experience with you guys all because no one was willing to look at transactions just to at least make sure somebody is making a mistake in the situation. The worker at the front was very welcoming and directed me to the product I was looking for happily. Once I got to the register I was completely ignored by the cashier who acted as if it was an inconvenience to check out my two items because she was gossiping with another co worker about the people in their neighborhood. I tried to ask several times if I could get two fives in exchange for a 10. Completely ignored that I existed. Just pointed to the pinpad when it was time to pay. The only time she looked at me or said anything to me was giving me my receipt which I then finally got her attention/eye contact and asked for the final time to exchange the bills and she told me that it was too late. Working in retail myself I know she could have easily opened her drawer and exchanged them, completely rude and lazy. Won't be returning to this location. The rain did not keep anyone from shopping their amazing weekend sale they had. I originally had a order for pick-up, but went back in to do more browsing. Here is my experience: Customer Service: 9.57/10 From the time I walked in the door to the time I checked out, the customer service was stellar. Everyone was so nice and the employees were conversational. They offered to help customers get items during checkout and the store was clean and organized. It was refreshing to see everyone happy and enjoying their jobs. It was also a plus that they were fully staffed. I felt comfortable my entire visit. Diversity: 9.57/10 It was lovely to see a diverse staff working this location. Compared to the Oak Park location, they are a step ahead on this. Honestly, this was a surprise to me, as that is something I did not observe previously. Selection: 8/10 They had a decent selection but you can tell it was slightly picked over from the last couple of days. I was able to find what I needed without any issues. They also have affordable gift bags and sets for different occasions. A win! Location: 7/10 This location is near Blackbob and 119th-the same strip mall as Whole Foods, Ulta, and Home Goods; which can get pretty busy. Luckily, my visit was earlier in the day so parking or crowds were not an issue. Overall: 9.75/10 I really enjoyed today's visit and the sale they had. It does seem like their body washes and lotions have increased in price, but I like that they are keeping customer favorites around instead of discontinuing them every quarter. Today is their annual $9.95 candle sale!!! All 3 wicks for $9.95. They've got all the Christmas scents out plus returning faves and lots of classic scents, etc. I sound like I work in their marketing department haha! If you need some candles for the season or for gifts you definitely do not want to miss this!! I wasn't aware the sale was happening until a friend called me yesterday to tell me- she was still at the store and told me to come down and choose the candles that I want because the sales associates will hold them for me behind the counter until the sale starts. I thought that was really wonderful customer service and I am so grateful for them!! These candles are normally $24.50 each so getting them for $9.95 is a huge savings! All of the ladies working there the evening I was in were super nice and helpful. The store is clean and bright and even though it is packed to the gills with product, it doesn't feel crowded. I also appreciate all that they are doing during the virus - they are all wearing masks and practicing social distancing and only 10 customers are allowed in the store at once so you need to line up outside if there are more than 10 people. And obviously they also have a lot of hand sanitizer available for use since they sell a lot of hand sanitizer! read more

This is based on my cashier experience. So I went to get this cute bear pedestal. The SA started scanning and then tried to put in the smallest bag. I asked if she can wrap it, she tried to wrap in the cellophane bag...of course she's struggling because it won't fit. I asked if she have a paper then she said, "oh yea sometimes I forgot we have a paper!" Then tried to wrap it in one paper and finally figured out she needs 2. Then bagging time, she's still going to use the smallest bag. I asked if she have a bigger bag and then I helped her open the bag because she can't put the item properly. Then I said "Thank you!" And I heard her say "wow that's a lot!" I'm not sure if she's new or not? But even when new, aren't they trained to properly wrap and bag fragile items? Or they'll just use common sense? I used to work in retail and I know what I asked is not a lot but she has to make that unnecessary comment. I really was nice to her too. Please train your SA properly on how to handle fragile items and not make rude comments. Not acceptable! read more

However I wish you didn't get ambushed by two or three staff members as soon as you walk through the door, forced to listen to all their deals even as you're trying to walk away, then stalk you as you peruse between the displays, interrupting your shopping to ask if you need help when a staff member is always a few feet away since the store is so small. Sometimes they have really great specials, but if you are just buying one or two items, it is a little overpriced for what it is. My skin has never reacted well to our body wash as it dries my skin out terribly. I love their candles and stock up when they have their large candles at $10 which I think is a great deal. read more
