Eventually, Dr. Skiffey Sr. retired and Dr. Skiffey Jr. took over. I think he needs to go back to school for some refreshers. He did an implant on me and everything seemed to be okay until it was time to put on the abutment and crown. Apparently the implant was not drilled vertically so the abutment leaned inward toward my tongue. When they did the crown, something must have been scanned wrong because the crown came out very high (I couldn't even touch my other teeth). By the time he leveled it out so that I had an even bite, he had ground away most of the surface and the metal underpinnings were exposed. The crown leans inward and catches on my tongue when I eat and the outer edge barely touches my gumline and collects food all the time. They think it is fine. I think it was done incorrectly and they don't want to admit that mistakes were made.

I've never been to a dentist before that could actually make crowns and bridges right there while you sat in the chair so I thought that was pretty fantastic. I was missing one of my front crowns entirely, while the other would later need to be removed and redone. I was stressed, overwhelmed, and so worried I wouldn't have my smile back in time for my wedding. What stood out to me immediately was how caring and helpful they were before I had even stepped into the office. When I called to explain my situation, they listened with so much compassion and urgency and made me feel genuinely cared for right away. They worked quickly to get me scheduled and reassured me that they would do everything they could to help. From my very first appointment, the entire team went above and beyond. Dr. Isakov took the time to explain every step to me. He used digital scanning to quickly send images to the lab and personally followed up to ensure my front crown would look natural, feel comfortable, and be the most hygienic, long-term solution for my implants. He was able to rush everything through for me, and I was absolutely blown away that my crown came back perfect on the first try. With just a few weeks to spare before my wedding, I had the new crown placed and finally felt an enormous weight lifted off my shoulders. I waited 8 months to get my permanent ones, only to walk out the first day told to wear them in order to get used to them with no adjustments. Went back once a week to have them adjust the fit and was told I had to pay 700.00 to get a soft liner put in. After that I never went back. I have been told you shouldn't need denture cream for well fitting dentures, but the hygienist told me I was told wrong. Amazing when you talk to a different dentist who actually cares about how you feel and look makes you realize that Dr Grucella and his employees didn't.
