The Short Version:
Vegetarian Indian restaurant in Bells Corners. Their samosas are among the best I've ever had!
The Long Version:
It was mid-December 2025 and I was in the area running some errands when I noticed Bathinda Bites as I was walking back to my car that was parked in the Robertson Centre Plaza parking lot. The space used to be Balista which I didn't even know it closed.
I did a quick Internet search but found they didn't have a website at the time so I went in to check it out. My intention was to ask for a takeout menu but they said they were so new they didn't have one yet, lol. They just opened December 11, 2025, so they had been open only a few days at the time of my visit. The man there gave me the dine-in menu to peruse.
I already had dinner plans, but the restaurant smelled good and other customers there seemed to be enjoying their food so I ordered 3 samosas ($1.99 each) to bring home to share with my husband.
As I waited, I was checking out the Indian desserts at the counter and the man offered me a sample to try. I didn't know what I was given was called at the time but I later did an Internet search and learned it was called Dhoda Barfi. It tasted like a grainy fudge with sliced almonds in it. I liked it and thought it was a kind gesture to give me a free sample.
The samosas were among the best I've ever had! The pastry was flakey but the real star was the filling. It had potatoes, peas, and get this...pieces of cashews in it! I have never had samosas with cashews in them before! The cashews gave the samosas a nutty flavour and the spices were great. If you like samosas, you need to try the samosas at Bathinda Bites!
The samosas came with a green spicy chili sauce and a sweet tamarind sauce. Both were excellent.
Service was friendly and welcoming.
Although Bathinda Bites also sells vegetarian Indian food like Balista that was previously in the same space, I was told it's different owners. So it's a completely new restaurant and not just rebranding.
I am looking forward to returning to try their other items like their Momos.
They are in the Robertson Centre Plaza, so lots of free parking available in the plaza parking lot.
