NEVER will we go anywhere else for brows or threading! I have 2 daughters (23 & 17) and between us we've tried a LOT of aestheticians over the cumulative years. We most recently (and devotedly) were at Blink in SF where Batol worked until she slowly started making the move over to Marin. It's like a dream come true having a pro close to home. In addition to being an all-around excellent human, she has --filled a hole in my youngest's eyebrow with perm makeup (4 or 5 quick swipes and voila!) --did wedding makeup for 5 of us last fall. Gorgeous! --monthly threadings and brows --refers other aestheticians for services she doesn't provide --doesn't push product but has great stuff if you need it. The brand of face wash she carries cleared my daughter's skin up in 2 weeks. Trust all these stars. I don't review a lot, but when I do I mean it!! You will NOT be disappointed. read more

I'm not a make-up person. I just never really learned how to put it on, never developed the patience and hate spending a lot of money on something that will come off in a a few hours. Enter Batool - Part I I found her when I first decided to give eyebrow shaping a try about 5 years ago. I was terrified - what if my blonde eyebrows disappeared entirely? First, she put me at ease by checking in with me countless times as she worked her shaping magic. Then, she taught me how to easily give my brows some color by using something that looked like mascara. And that was it. I didn't go back for years and my plentiful blonde eyebrows lived a threat free life. Fast forward to wedding preparations and my realization that I should wear make-up on my wedding day and I was ill prepared to do my own. Enter Batool - Part II I gave another eyebrow shaper a try but just wasn't as satisfied with the look; my brows seemed uneven and it really bothered me when I looked in the mirror. So I tracked down Batool and asked her to just to my brows. As she was plucking away (she only plucks and trims) I explained my woe's in looking for make-up help for my wedding. She asked if she could try a few things and I nearly bolted for the door....again, I was terrified. She put on a little bit of foundation and some eyeliner. Later that day, my co-workers noticed and gave high praise to the subtle look. So I went in and did a make-up trial with Batool. It was a great experience because again, she checked in with me countless times and ensured that I was comfortable with the progress. I think if she had her way, I would have worn 2X more make-up but when it came to my wedding day, I felt the right amount of enhancement without the feel of 'wearing make-up'. Essentially, the care that Batool has shown me as a client is wonderful. What a fun and talented person! 1. Fantastic job on my eyebrows. She had creative suggestions that really lightened up my whole face. She also took her time and wanted to make sure they looked just right. 2. Did my makeup just because she had some extra time. Not not only made me look great, but also explained to me exactly what she was doing so that I could attempt to do it at home on my own. 3. Had makeup suggestions that matched my own personal style. Just from looking at what I was wearing, Batool was able to understand my personal style and provide makeup suggestions that would fit with that perfectly. 4. So funny and fun to talk to. She had me entertained and relaxed the moment I walked in. She has an easy-going way about her that makes you trust what she's doing and you also kind of want to go out for drinks with her. My brows were thrashed before I saw her, and now they are amazing! They will be even more amazing once I let them grow in and let her do her magic on them. Sometimes I wish it were appropriate to carry around her business cards to give to people because there are SO MANY BAD BROWS out there. The worst part is that you don't realize you have bad brows until you get good brows and then you're like, holy crap I look skinnier/younger/hotter. Nope, it was just your bushy/uneven/parched brows. Now let me preface this review by saying that I am a brow girl. I know my brows and can spot brow artist and/or brow con artist immediately! Nothing worse than going in and having someone take off half your brows and giving you the too thin "stripper look." Now..Batool...she is FABULOUS! She has such an eye for what a brow should look like. She spends the time to make things just right and never rushes. She threads and/or tweezes, depending on your hair situation. She trims your hairs as well. I leave her brow bar looking and feeling great. I love the fact she encourages a more natural brow. If you are still waxing, consider switching to threading and tweezing, it is so much more precise. Batool is warm and friendly and never pushes extra services, although she offers makeup and eyelashes. You will be happy you tried Batool. read more

Batol is amazing at brows. They look FULLER (and cleaned up) after every time I see her, which is a rare, magical talent. I am very picky about my brows-- my thin brow hairs grow straight out (thank you to my Dad for the hand-me-down) and sometimes they need "just one hair trimmed" with the scissors before a gap appears. My shape was very full when I was a girl, but I was overwaxed once, and that was that. Batol is an expert with the tweezers and scissors... My brows seem fuller when I leave, even before adding any powder or pomade to fill them in. It's magic, people. I also deeply appreciate the time she took to teach me how to fill in my brows with minimal product, showing me the targeted areas to shade that would help balance my brows to be a better frame for my face. If I ever decide to get my brows tattooed she does that too..! (And she doesn't do the scary stereotypical black green ink, obviously, but the more natural one you get re-done every 1-2 years.) I moved away from Marin a few months ago, but after going to Batol for 2 years I still sometimes drive from the South Bay for brow shaping. PS: She's also fantastic at makeup-- I'm picky with this as well, but she did an amazing job on my boss's face when we needed a glam team for filming. She made her look like a straight up movie star. Stay away!!! I agree with other reviews that state she is way too rushed and seems to be motivated by the money. She was obviously known for microblading when she was one of the few doing it. But now there are others who are leaps ahead of her in skill, patience and friendliness. I know because I went to someone else afterwards to correct her work! read more

Batol is incredibly unprofessional! She seems to have to rescheduled every appointment I made with her - very often at the last minute. I went to her for microblading to "create" eyebrows as mine were sparse. After at least 5 appointments and $$ each time - they look awful! And, the process itself was very uncomfortable regardless of the "numbing" cream. I only went to her because at the time, she was the only one in Marin doing this technique. Since then, I have had several estheticians comment on how it just looks like I have blotchy dye on my skin. With microblading, it is supposed to appear like strokes/individual hairs. The estheticians asked me for her name so they know NOT to recommend her to their clients. read more

This was the best experience In self-improvement for the least effort EVER! Batol possesses the talent, manner and experience to make anyone look better instantly! I was losing the ends of my fairly sparse brows and after years of waxing just wasn't sure that the shape was working for my face and eye shape. I just had my brows done today by Batol (based on Yelp reviews) and they are fabulous. My regular girl at Eden Day Spa has been gone for some time and I've been floundering (while sort of messing my brows up). Batol has the most positive energy ever and has an artistic sense that is normally lacking. She's about a "natural" brow and walked me through adding on to what I'm missing! Batol is so very talented at makeup, brow shaping, color and permanent makeup (brows and eyeliner). She is a wonderful person who really cares about her clients. She has also recently started selling some fabulous skin care products. I had started to lose the tail of my eyebrows as I got older. Batol gave me permanent eyeliner and brows. I now have perfect eyebrows. OMG... it is the best thing -- such a time saver and my eye makeup never transfers to my check or brow. I cannot recommend permanent makeup highly enough. Because I over-plucked in the 70's, I was was an early adopter of eyebrow tattoos in the 80's. This means I ended up with faded blue-grey eyebrows. This didn't bother me that much, since I used a brown eyebrow pencil for color correction. At some point, however, part of my left eyebrow just disappeared. Recently, my aesthetician said, "you need to get that fixed." I know a person who does excellent work. So I made an appointment with Batol, an expert brow artist who uses micropigmentation to enhance and/or recreate eyebrows. Given the shape my eyebrows were in, Batol decided to focus on the color correction first -- and then address the shape. She wanted to make sure she could correct the blue-grey, and prevent the missing side from absorbing color differently. Batol did a few patch tests, and we let them heal for two weeks. At my next appointment, she created a set of eyebrows with a lovely arch. We let them heal for another two weeks. I just went in for my final appointment and I'm now sporting a beautiful set of chocolate brown eyebrows that I do not have to redraw or recolor. Batol is a perfectionist with integrity. She was unwilling to merely slap on some color and consider her job done. Moreover, she's a lovely individual and I enjoyed our three sessions immensely. read more

It took two calls before I received a callback. I wish I had listened to my inner voice telling me this wasn't a good sign. I found Batol to be rushed and rude and in addition she sold me a product I didn't need. I found her to be an aggressive sales person - you end up buying her product just to get her to stop badgering you. And to top it off, my brows were uneven. Good thing they grow back, but unhappy I have to walk around with uneven brows in the meantime. read more

Batool is the BEST, period! Doesn't try to up sell you on extras like cosmetics etc. But does give you samples of the good stuff, she has is no pressure.
