The day after the incident, due to pain in the lower part of the index finger, my wife called the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic to request a consult to determine if there was any damage to tendons or nerves. The Clinic was able to schedule a consult with Dr Michael Robichaux, MD for the next day. My wife and I arrived at the clinic and presented to the check-in desk. The intake person was friendly and attentive. My wofe was presented a registration form which was very succinct and to the point. Upon completing the registration form (5 min). We were ushered back to Dr Robichaux's waiting area. We had to wait only 5 - 6 minutes before we were escorted to a consult room by a medical assistant who removed the dressing and splint on the finger and took down the medical history of the injury. This took about 5 minutes. Dr Robichaux entered the consult room about 3-4 minutes after the MA was done. Dr Robichaux conducted an examination of the injury and conducted some physical testing to determine the extent of the injury. Following this, Dr Robichaux spent 15 minutes explaining what his findings were and what was needed to correct the damage to the finger's tendons and nerves. He even drew some pictures to better explain the options to be followed for the surgery. Dr Robichaux had an excellent 'bedside manner' and his explanations were straightforward and easy to follow. My wife was able to schedule her surgery with Dr. Robichaux for the next afternoon. Dr Robichaux's nurse, Jennifer, next spent about 15 minutes going over the pre-op instructions and re-dressing and splinting the injured finger. Jennifer was professional and fabulously polite. Her treatment of my wife was like she was treating her own mom. The checkout clerk was professional and friendly - complementing my wife on her nails - and took just a few minutes to process her out. With this encounter - the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic demonstrated outstanding professionalism and a very patient-friendly atmosphere. This organization is very highly recommended for someone who needs orthopaedic services in the Baton Rouge area.

I have nothing against kids as a general matter but (1) what happened to patient privacy? (2) I don't like my doctor's attention being divided between addressing my medical needs and a child. And (3) it felt like the doctor was squeezing a little work into his schedule, as opposed to being fully present and engaged in his very important job.

An update on my previous review of Dr Atlas D. Sorry for all the misspellings. Autocorrect bites…read moreand I was upset. I was in Louisiana 10 YEARS. I was in rural Missouri for 6 MONTHS. was recently a patient of Dr Massengale. I recently returned home to Missouri After being gone 9 years. I returned to my same doctors who I believe to be intelligent but no more than my Dr's Louisiana. I had cellulitis and was in the hospital within 72 hours. Common theme. My PCP having never seen anything like me did 20 wound cultures.. I had staph. But I had to have staph when I left Louisiana. I kept my body covered from head to toe for obvious reasons. Dr. Massengale I believed in you. Why did you not do 20 wound cultures. You would have learned the same thing. I was resistant to all common antibiotics. Amoxicillin.Cephelaxin, Doxycycline. Just name off every medication for antibacterial infection you can think of. I guess I would have finally died. By now, I have 20 wound cultures, wound DNA as now my feet had blisters. Dr Massengale, left me like this and suggested religious counseling. Now, I agree that was probably needed, it wasn't going to cure me and I placed my absolute trust in you. Update: I am Mid way through Immunotherapy at a cancer treatment center. I may never be OK, but statistics give me 5 good years. My diagnosis was obviously over your head. I can accept that. The fact you took an oath "to do to harm" Why didn't you sent me to the best you knew?

This has been such a headache and I will likely switch clinics.

What started off as a bad work related injury has blossomed into a beautiful new beginning. Dr Sanchez and his nurse Brittney have helped the recovery process in ways I never knew possible. All I had to do was show up to my appointments and his staff took care of the rest by talking to my insurance company to get payments processed and my surgery dates booked. Another amazing perk is that Dr Sanchez has a state of the art surgical center on the premises so that for small surgical needs can be handled there instead of the big hospital he has privileges in. With that being said if you are looking for the best surgical hands in the state look no further because Dr Ruston Sanchez is the way to go 100 percent.
