I…read moremight can believe this at times, but honestly was just a little disappointed in the crowd noise, but it's still very loud. The inside part of the stadium is nice and up to date. The seats are older and need repainting but still in great shape. The grass on the field is pristine and looks phenomenal. The outside even looks very good and up to date, very minimalistic. For the concourse area where the concessions are are extremely old. It needs updating badly. It's just not in good shape. They have great food and drink options, but just old and tattered. The bathrooms are even worse. It's like they have never even tried to update these. I mean you are using toilets and troughs, it's that bad. I honestly expected more. I walked around the whole stadium expecting there to be some cool LSU memorial of former player, but there was nothing. Just an old concourse that nobody has put any thought too. Overall, I expected much much more from the long tall tails I've heard from this place, but just didn't live up to the hype. Great time, great people, and great atmosphere. Just a very old stadium wrapped in glitter. Also, don't let the preconception fool you of people saying these are rude and ugly fans. They are not! These are some of the nicest fans I have ever met. I was wearing the opposing fans gear and was treated very well and very nicely. It definitely changed my thoughts on lsu fans, and honestly kind of made me a small fan of them.

Honestly, there isn't a close second when it comes to college football atmospheres. What makes it even more special are the Cajun folks of LSU. The fans here aren't just passionate--they're welcoming, fun-loving, and make the entire game day experience unforgettable. The tailgating scene is second to none: from jambalaya to gumbo, crawfish boils to boudin, you're surrounded by incredible food and even better people who treat you like family, no matter where you're from. Simply put, Death Valley is college football heaven. If you've never experienced a Saturday night here, you're missing out on one of the greatest traditions in sports. GEAUX TIGERS!

The organizers…read moredid a wonderful job peppering the parade With a mixture of floats and marching bands and walkers.The weather was very iffy that day so we took a chance on attending. I was very happy, especially for the kids, that the participants all showed up with smiles. It really brightened our day! We actually viewed the parade from a corner where it rolled by twice. And the riders showered our kids with goodies both times around! This has become one of my families favorite parades to attend. We look forward to many more years :-)

This is by far my favorite parade in Baton Rouge, and in 15 years, I have only missed one due to a…read moremedical emergency. Held in Mid-City and the Garden District area, it is embraced by the residents in those neighborhoods. The fact that it is NOT held in downtown Baton Rouge is a HUGE draw - I stopped going downtown for most of the parades during Mardi Gras because there is no flavor to the route, and it doesn't feel like it's anything special. For the Wearin' of the Green, families along the route open their homes to friends and even strangers. While parking can be a bit difficult, I have always been able to find a spot no matter which area I planned to watch it in, or have only had to venture a block or two out of the way. I make it a point to plan ahead. Plan to arrive early to ensure you can find a spot. Don't plan on rolling in at 9:30 when the parade rolls at 10. And just plan to have a fun morning visiting with your fellow BR neighbors. For the past two years, we have hosted a float and ridden in the parade. That's been a very wonderful eye opening experience! I love seeing friends and family out in the crowd, and it's fun to watch the lawns full of people. You see a true representation of this amazing city, and just about everyone is polite, enthusiastic, and thankful for the throws we spend our own money on. Some logistics - if you have small kids or aren't into the crowd scene, plan to watch it toward the beginning of the route. As it rolls down Terrace, there is so much open space in the median area. If you area more adventurous, setup alongside City Park on Perkins. And if you're looking for a true, crazy, wild parade experience, head to the Perkins Road Overpass and join the restaurants and bars for some good fun in the crowds. Rain or shine, the Wearin' of the Green parade is a MUST DO! I look forward to throwing you all some amazing stuff again next year!

As you can imagine, it's a party for almost every holiday here. So, I consider my daughter lucky for getting to spend most of her pre-teen life here in Louisiana where parades happen left and right. You think Mardi Gras parades are extravagant, well this one is right up there with those. Floats are big, beads are abundant and just as many hands are up in the air ready to catch whatever is thrown at them. This time, it's not the bight purple, gold and pink colors you see. This time it's a sea of green: beads, cups, shirts and even beards. The parade is not too far from where I live and it can get crazy. If you're a visitor and you think you'll be here for it, definitely worth it. The aftermath of the parade is definitely a sight, too. Parade route travels through the Garden District and on Perkins/Acadian area. Any of the plazas in that area become party central. It is definitely a family-friendly parade, so don't miss out and get your spots early.

From start to finish, there were live musicians and dancers (from Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee and more). I am a huge supporter of what Henry Turner, Jr. does for the music culture of Louisiana. His music and the artists he brought on board were truly talented, which amplified his love for the city of Baton Rouge. I know how hard he worked to make this show happen and I would love nothing more than for it to grow bigger each year. This festival happens yearly before, during and after the largely popular Spanish Town Parade in downtown Baton Rouge. Plus, it is family-friendly and is in the giant open space of Galvez Plaza on North Blvd Town Square. Food, retail vendors and even some entertainment for the kiddos made for a great way to spend the day celebrating Mardi Gras! First visit to LSU stadium, what an experience. The seats weren't ideal for me, but it was a…read morebeautiful view nonetheless. It was a later game so it was nice to be there as the son went down. The evolution to get into this stadium was organized chaos. Also this stadium isn't like some others where you can roam to other sides. You only have access to the area where your seats are. Security is tight too! Do not look over the edge, lean on it, or sat food or drink, the state trooper's will check you on that. The area is super crowded during the games, get your parking figured out well in advance.

Louisiana State has one of the best programs in modern college football history; most certainly, in…read morethe 21st century. Since 2000, the Tigers haven't missed a bowl berth (with most, good to great bowls), finished no worse than 8-5 overall, and only had a losing record in the SEC (arguably, the toughest conference in America) once (3-5 in 2008). Most importantly, during that span, LSU won three of its four national championships, all under different head coaches: 2003 with Nick Saban, 2007 with Les Miles, and 2019 with Ed Orgeron. Needless to say, LSU has been a force to be reckoned with. Perhaps the best LSU team was the 2019 team that went a perfect 15-0 with a very tough schedule that included seven games against opponents nationally-ranked in the top 10 entering each game. Regular season highlights included road wins at No. 9 Texas, 45-38, and at No. 3 Alabama, 46-41. LSU's final three games that season were impressive as the Tigers dominated in wins over elite teams: No. 4 Georgia in the SEC title game (37-10), No 4. Oklahoma (Big 12 champions) in the College Football Playoff Semifinal (63-28), and No. 3 Clemson (ACC champions and defending national champions) in the national championship game (42-25). No Trevor-Lawrence-led Clemson team had been beaten that handily up to that point or since. LSU, led by Heisman-Trophy-winning QB Joe Burrow, was undisputedly the best team in college football that season. LSU's other national championships in the past two decades came during the BCS (Bowl Championship Series) era. Coincidentally, all of LSU's last three titles were won inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome (formerly the Louisiana Superdome) in New Orleans in the team's home state. The BCS era was a relatively good one for LSU except for the 2011 season when Alabama beat LSU in the BCS National Championship Game. Alabama became only the third (and last) team to qualify for the BCS National Championship Game as an "at-large" team. Therefore, they received a controversial second shot at LSU, who had beaten Alabama earlier that same season. LSU beat Alabama, won the conference, yet somehow wound up facing Alabama again for the national title. This is an oft-cited example of why the BCS was disliked and eventually replaced with the College Football Playoff. The Tigers play at Tiger Stadium on the campus of LSU. I knew that the band leader Ray Benson had been really sick during the pandemic, so I was glad to see him playing and singing quite well. The Manship was a very well-maintained facility, and everything was spotlessly clean. The seats were a little narrow, but comfortable. I will certainly plan to go back to other shows there again.

Then upon end of show, upon walking out they don't direct to you to ONE exit and roped off all other exits the entire hall was congested beyond Fire code.
