I took my 17 year old dog to be put out of pain. Everyone was so caring. Gave us all the time we needed. Heard stories about my little ween. When he came back when heavens pet I went to pick him up. The girl carried him like he was a precious thing. Handed to me like she understood my pain. Completely different from my last encounter 2 years ago. Thank you so much. My dogs meant the world to me. I'm happy with their csre!!!

Batt took great care of our puppy, Zoë! We highly recommend for anyone looking for a vet!

This is the greatest group of people all working for one business. The Drs, the Batt brothers, have done a wonderful job of hiring people for their support. The lady that answers the phone is always upbeat, happy and helpful. The techs are all wonderful and really seem to enjoy being at work. They also seem to really care about your pet and you. Dr Batt was honest and took time to talk to me about my old pug. It's so refreshing to go to a Vet who didn't suggest costly things to do. In fact, it was the opposite. He told me my old guy was old and happy, let him leave his life out without doing stressful things to him. I drive from Covington ( 80 miles round trip) to bring my pugs to them because for me and them it's worth the drive and time. Pugs are known for misbehaving for nail trims and these guys handle them with a smile and quickly. They also are the most reasonable priced vet I've found in New Orleans or on the northshore so that's an added bonus!

    Freyja happy and recovering!

Our dog got all his shots there, got neutered there, got his heart worm treatment there, and they were amazing about removing a foreign object (we have a very adventurous dog).

I am retired and live on a fixed income. That being said, my dog is now 7 and has never been to a Veterinarian other than when I first got them home to get checked and wormed. I cannot afford annual Vet. visit. I take my dog , every year, to a mobile Vet. for shots only. My sweet Allie had developed a growth behind her ear and it needed to come off. I was hesitant , knowing what animal surgery costs in the city by hearing of similar situations from friends and family. I was referred to Hickory Knoll by someone I trust! I was skeptical and nervous for my dog. This place is truly special!! My dog had a little area to as she's super skittish around people that she doesn't regularly see. They made her feel at ease, which surprised me. As of late , they take strict precautions as far as Covid is concerned. They come get your pooch from your car and offer payment options while in your vehicle. I can't say enough about how much Hickory Knoll has changed my perception of Veterinarians. They even call , twice in fact , to check up on your animal after the visit. They do this every time and it means a lot to me.

Chateau Veterinary Hospital was absolutely amazing--especially if you're traveling internationally…read morewith a pet, or honestly, if you just need an exceptional vet. They handled our international health certificate for our dog, Chester, and our cat, Muscade, and made what is usually a very stressful process feel completely manageable. Summer Stein was our main point of contact, and she is truly an expert when it comes to international travel paperwork. Dr. Fraser completed the health screening, and the entire process was seamless. One huge bonus that not many people realize: if you're traveling with two pets, they can be listed on one health certificate. That alone saved us time, money, and unnecessary stress. Before finding Chateau, I had reached out to several clinics and felt overwhelmed and unsure. The moment Summer answered my call, I felt confident we were in the right hands--and I was right. We arrived in France with zero issues. One very important tip for anyone traveling internationally with pets: yes, the health certificate must be validated within 10 days of travel, but your vet appointment should be scheduled at least one month before your departure. This allows enough time for the USDA to process, endorse, and mail everything back to you. Summer guided us through this timing perfectly. I also really appreciated that they had us test anti-anxiety medication before travel to ensure the correct dosage. Best advice ever. It made a world of difference knowing exactly what Chester needed--and to be clear, these are not tranquilizers, which are forbidden for international travel. We even had to recheck Chester in Paris for our connecting flight to Nice. He refused additional medication at that point but still did very well. There were no issues--no barking, no complaints from airline staff, and he remained calm throughout the entire process. He was understandably nervous by the time we picked him up in Nice, but he was completely okay. I was nervous about giving him medication in the first place, but testing it ahead of time and following their guidance truly paid off. Another thing worth mentioning: Chester is an anxious dog when it comes to vet visits. He's sweet--not aggressive--just scared. The team handled his exam and vaccinations with patience, calm, and confidence. They clearly know how to work thoughtfully with nervous animals, and that meant a lot to us. I also really appreciated that they offer happy visits, where you can stop in without an appointment just to help your pet feel comfortable with the vet and environment--no exam, no stress, just positive exposure. Beyond all of that, this is simply an outstanding veterinary office. Everyone is incredibly kind, organized, professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable--what more could you ask for? It's clearly a locally owned practice, not a corporate chain, and that shows in every interaction. I had a terrible experience at a corporate vet prior to this, and honestly, I'm grateful for it because it led me to Chateau Veterinary Hospital. Thank you so much to the entire team at Chateau Veterinary Hospital. We truly couldn't have done this without you. We're now happily settled and enjoying our life in France.

Dr. Benbow was recommended to me and I've been grateful ever since I switched. Everyone who works at this vet is helpful and understanding. I love that the exam rooms are large and they set down mats and blankets for the dogs to lay on. As soon as the appointment is done the blankets are picked up and washed, so you know your pet is always on a clean one. The biggest plus for me is that Dr. Benbow herself is so good with my Dane and with me. She's understanding to my pup's needs and to explaining to me how best to treat him for whatever is going on. I've had to bring him in for an emergency more than once, and Dr. Benbow stays calm and lets me explain what's going on then she suggests the best way to treat the problem. I love that she is so understanding of my Dane's needs and for her genuine care of him. He's so comfortable around her, and that puts me at ease when he's getting care. I do feel this vet is a bit more expensive, but for the increased level of care and attention they give to make sure my Dane is healthy it's worth it to me. If you are looking for a caring well experienced vet to take care of your pet I very highly recommend Dr. Benbow and Benbow Vet service.

I am so grateful for the care and kindness I received at the Animal Hospital of Old Metairie today…read more I was taking care of a friend's dog and he got into a pile of fire ants and had an intense scary reaction. As an anxious auntie who doesn't own a pet I freaked out a bit. I came in (on a Saturday) within an hour of closing and the managed to fit us in despite having a fully booked schedule. Ashley at the front desk was so kind and patient and helpful. Dr. A and the vet tech (was too overwhelmed to get her name) were patient with me (and my anxiety) despite it causing them to have to stay a little late. She was thorough with my options, provided an estimate before Starting to treat and we dodged having to pay an inflated amount for an urgent care visit at another place because of their willingness to see us as a last minute walk-in. I am reminded that I am not up for the stress of being a full-time pet owner and am so grateful for receiving helpful care today.
