We signed a roof replacement contract with them a year ago prior to filing a claim with our insurers for storm damage. When our claim was denied by our carrier, we were told by Roofing Pro's representative that the contract with their company was null and void, as indicated by the wording on the contract. We subsequently moved forward with a new roofing company, months later, and reinspection with a different public adjuster has resulted in a settlement from our insurer for roughly half of the cost of the roof. Now, over twelve months later, Roofing Pros has reappeared and is demanding to be made co-signators on the settlement check. The promises we received from their representative one year ago notwithstanding, the first line on their contract clearly states that "This Contract is Null and Void if Owner's Insurance Coverage Fails to Fund a Full Roof Replacement ". Multiple other roofers we have contacted since have given us estimates that range from twice to three times the insurance company's award, and all other roofers, when we contacted them, state that the insurance check would not cover the entirety of materials (shingles), much less a "full roof replacement ". Nonetheless, Roofing Pros continues to insist that they must remain cosignators on that check, thereby holding up clearance of the insurance check and completion of this project. This after disappearing from the scene for a year, and telling us that we were released from any obligations back in July 2025. Needless to say my wife and I are surprised and disappointed with the levels of duplicity and abject greed this company has brought to the table in this interaction. I can only say, thank G*d they aren't actually the ones replacing our roof. Our neighbors did go with RP, and have already noticed some significant warping and patchwork shingles within their completed job. Caveat emptor.

After Hurricane Milton, we discovered leaks in our roof and filed a claim with our homeowners insurance. Initially, the insurance company did not want to cover the roof. A friend of ours who worked for this roofing company assured us they had a lawyer who could fight the claim, so we trusted him and moved forward. After nearly a year, the claim was approved. However, the estimate jumped from $16,000 (pre-insurance) to $25,000 once insurance was involved, a significant increase. By the time work was finally scheduled, our friend was no longer with the company. When installation day arrived, we were excited to finally fix our leaking roof. The crew showed up and began work. Everything seemed fine until I left briefly, and my husband called me in a panic. Midway through the job, with part of the roof already shingled, the crew suddenly claimed the roof pitch was too low and said they needed to switch to rolled roofing. At no point prior to this, despite multiple people inspecting the roof, was pitch ever mentioned. The explanation given to my husband was unclear, and we believed they were adding an underlayer before continuing with shingles. Instead, they removed materials and left us with a partially shingled roof and rolled roofing on other sections. This was not what we agreed to, nor what was in our contract. The result looked terrible. Something I have never seen in my life. To make matters worse, they left nails and debris all over our yard. My husband stepped on a nail that went through his shoe. We have a child and two dogs. This was completely unacceptable. A representative named Phillip eventually came out, acknowledged the pitch issue, and suggested alternatives. He even offered a metal roof option using materials they already had, which we were happy with. However, after agreeing to this, we heard nothing for two weeks. Then, unexpectedly, a building inspector showed up to inspect the roof as if the job were complete. It failed due to poor workmanship. At this point, we lost all trust in the company. Phillip later presented us with three options: 1. Leave the roof as-is 2. Replace with a different color rolled roofing (why?!) 3. Pay out of pocket for a metal roof (claiming insurance would not cover it) This turned out to be misleading. After contacting our insurance company (USAA), we were told we could choose the roofing type. We would only be responsible for any additional cost beyond coverage. Through emails, I was able to contact the Chief Building Inspector, who personally came out to assess our roof. He confirmed that only two small areas required rolled roofing. The rest could and should be shingled. One of those low-pitch areas had already been incorrectly shingled by this company. I relayed this information and requested they complete the job properly. Months passed with no resolution. Communication became increasingly unprofessional, and I ultimately had to send a formal demand for completion of work while exploring legal options. After all of this, they finally did what should have been done from the beginning: shingled the roof where appropriate and used rolled roofing only where necessary. They also cleaned up the debris. Something that should never have been an issue in the first place. Even now, I am not satisfied with the final result and will be hiring another company to redo the roof with metal. This entire experience was very stressful, drawn out, and completely avoidable. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Avoid this company!
