Frustrating experience here. I bought a top of the line AGM battery from them and it did not even last a year. I think the battery was close to $300. When I brought it in for a warranty replacement they told me they couldn't test it because the battery charge was too low. They wanted to take the battery and charge it to test it. Why would I trust that battery again if it needs to be charged between uses in order to start my car? My request was not unreasonable and I was told they think the battery is still good and they couldn't replace it. I know they don't manufacture the batteries, but I do know they have the ability to replace them. Poor experience overall, I have spent over a thousand dollars at that store and when it was time to step up, they wouldn't honor their supposed warranty. I went on Amazon and bought a five pack of Energizer batteries for the same price I paid at Batteries Plus for a dead, off-brand battery. I was surprised to see the negative reviews of this place! My experience was great. I came in with an almost dead car battery. The team was super helpful!! They came out to my car and took care of everything. After testing the battery, they replaced it with a new one. I was in and out within 10 minutes without lifting a finger. Had I gone to my car dealership for this replacement, I was estimated 4x more money. At batteries plus, I simply paid for the battery and the service was included. Feb. of 2016 Update: After posting my initial (strongly worded) experience with this Batteries Plus Bulbs location, I was contacted by some higher management / owners of the company in an effort work with me and resolve this matter. Super friendly folks - I'll give them that. It sounded like they truly cared about the happiness of their customers; and their service recovery tactics were on-point! When I posted my initial review, it would have been easy to get upset with me and take a more argumentative approach (I was pretty upset when I wrote it), but these folks were genuinely polite and cool-headed with me as we rectified this situation. I'm changing my review from a 1-Star to a (fairly neutral) 3-Star, with the potential to go up from there later on. I will be giving them another shot later on this year or next year despite what I said in my initial review. After working with the extremely polite / friendly higher-ups, I have to believe that this place will be on the mend and will more than likely be a much different store than the one I walked into a few months ago. Thanks again to the higher-ups I spoke with for being calm and patient with me & for all your concern. Fairly friendly young men working upon entry, but the guy who helped me had to have been new b/c he struggled like no other before him to handle this task. I was hoping that the more knowledgeable seeming employee would help him, since the (assumed) new employee was having trouble and verbalized that to his co-worker. His co-worker seemed like he was trying to give him some "tough love" on-the-job-training by letting him figure it out on his own while he continued to help every other customer that walked into the store. This would have been fine, if it didn't take him the 45 minutes it took to get the thing "fixed." After watching about 10 customers come in, get helped, pay, and leave - I just wanted to pay for the damn thing and go. As you can see int he picture, he didn't even put the buttons back in right (evenly) - but I didn't want to spend another 45 minutes in the store waiting for him to rectify the situation. I had replacement key fobs programmed at the Bloomington, MN location and the result was my car not recognizing any of the old or new fobs that were to be connected. My dealership could not reverse the actions of Batteries Plus as that was where they recommended I take it. They indicated that the signal was completely loss and could not be remedied so we had to go with a not so safe alternative. My concern is that my calls back to Batteries Plus have gone without response. The manager has told me at least 4 times that the owner would reach out to me but needless to say, that has not happened since October 30. read more

Do not shop here! I asked if they price match the employee working there Tom said they price match. After I got my quote he wouldn't agree to price match and when i asked to speak to his manager he denied me and told me to get out of the store. I refused until I got his managers number so I can speak with a manager. He said no to me and said are you threatening me and called the police telling them I threatened him, and that put me at risk because police may have been thinking I'm a threat. read more

I had an old (non working) flip phone that I REALLY wanted to save but NO ONE in town was interested in anything but selling me a new phone and service. Stay away. I purchased a new car battery recently, the tech installed a cheaper/smaller battery on accident, I caught it before I drove off. Had problems with the battery immediately, slow turning over. Went back the next day to have them check the battery (car almost didn't start), they said it was fine. A few days later my car wouldn't start and couldn't be jumped. I had it towed to the dealership where they proceeded to tell me the battery was not the correct battery for my car (and also checked my car to make sure it was not the problem-as a worker told me on the phone I MUST prove it was not my car causing the problem, in order to take the battery back....). I tried to bring back the old battery (one week later), and the managers REFUSED to take it back, even though it was their error, and it "tested fine". If it's testing fine they should take it back, as nowhere do they post a No Returns Policy. I brought it back to the St. Louis Park location, no questions asked. They are doing some bad business at the Bloomington location. I'm now out $400 due to their incompetence. read more

I LOVE my old cell phone and it made me sad that the charging port stopped working. But Tom was great. After being told by a different cell phone repair store that "I should just upgrade my phone because it'll cost me $250 to fix my Galaxy S6", Tom listened to what was wrong with my phone, diagnosed the problem and offered a reasonable cost to fix it. During a time when services are limited due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Tom's knowledge and friendly manner made finding his services refreshing. Thanks Tom. I'm not sure what happened, I set up an online appointment to fix my iPhone screen, no big deal. I set it up for 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon and at 2:30 I got a voicemail from the person that was going to fix it saying that if I did not show up before 4:30 then he would not be able to help me and that anytime between 4:00 and 4:30 would be fine. I show up at 4:10 and the person at the front desk tells me that the person that was going to fix my phone already left. That is unprofessional, I don't know why that happened even though I clearly showed up on time. Unless something changes I won't go back to this store. It's not a good look for that to happen to a first-time customer. Update: Someone at the store called me and apologized and said that the employee that called me did not follow protocol by not reporting my complaint. I received a reply from my previous comment below. Was asked to call the manger Paul. I called Paul and met with him back at Batteries Plus in Bloomington. Well it seams for one I had a receipt in Sept 2017 for a battery that was produced in 2018. And the person who sold me the battery with false information no longer is there. So Paul puts my battery from Batteries Plus on a charger and tells me it's holding a charge. So now do I have faith in a dead battery or at one time was told it's 50% to complete dead. But in the mean time I buy a battery cause I ride and needed a battery. Not trusting this battery on the road to function properly? NO ! Told Paul again I've bought a new battery can I just have my money back for the huge inconvenience. Paul said NO this battery in not under that type of warranty. There is no way I will go back to a Battery Plus not even to check a battery. I definitely feel I did not get any good customer service or satisfaction. read more

We had a battery replaced here. While the battery worked fine, the screen didn't stay adhered after a month or so. Called and they said they could just apply some adhesive. When I stopped in they first said the phone was bent, and then after applying a couple ruler measurements said we just needed to buy a new screen. Weird, because if the phone is bent how would a new screen adhere. There was nothing wrong with the screen we had. All he had to do was get more sticky stuff like the person said when I called earlier in the day. Overall, they just didn't want to stand behind work done to replace the battery. Short sighted. NEVER BRING YOUR SCREENS HERE!!!!!!!I brought my I phone here and had them fix the screen. The camera then did not work so I brought it back and they took my old camera and put it back in it quickly! Then I went to work out with my phone strapped into my arm piece while I ran and the screen fell out and smacked on the treadmill arm and broke leaving me unable to use my phone. I went to my husband to get help to put the phone together for me and he saw that they never put the screws back in the phone when putting the camera in. I called and talked to mike who was very nice I told him what happened and he said he would take care of it. I came in the next day to get it fixed and the Spanish guy at the desk said there is no way they would ever warranty the phone because they can't test it!!!!!! Well no shit because you forgot to put my phone together securely and the screen came out and broke. I asked for mike since he is who told me to come and they would fix it and he refused to let me talk to mike and told me I could buy a new screen from them of course!!!! What a joke!!! Hello, I just want to start out by saying if I could give 0 stars I would. My experience here was absolutely HORRIBLE DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU NEED A DEVICE FIXED!!! I had brought my iPad mini here to fix the screen. When I received it back the power button was broken, it was loose and didn't press like it should. (It still worked but not the same) When I had explained this to the associate the response back that I had received was "oh that happens sometimes" Not once did they offer to fix it or replace it. Now 5 months later (while my screen is still under warranty) The screen is broken and not responding. When I go back to them they say that it's the battery, well I brought it to apple and apple is saying it's the screen after they ran diagnostics on the battery and told me it was safe.. Now at this point mind you I DO NOT TRUST batteries plus to even touch or try and fix my iPad after the first situation, so I tell them I would like a refund and to take my product to Apple to get fixed. They refused to stand behind their product and would not refund the money the management was not understanding of the situation. Long story short, I brought my iPad back to Apple to get fixed. I had a dead phone!!! Went to ATT and purchased another one. Sad to say, no cloud backup so everything for business and personal was on my phone. Grrrrrrr.......Brought it into the Batteries Plus in Apple Valley, 3 hour wait. Called the one in Bloomington and was SURPRISED to hear "we can do it right away"!! Walked in, and right away they knew what was wrong. 10 minutes later I access to all my important items. Have to say I was very impressed, there was two ppl in there when I arrived and three as I waited. I listened to the conversations to see if it was a one off customer service experience and was really impressed with how both the guys treated the customers. Never been there before but will certainly return to the Bloomington store, apple valley not so much.
