Just came from your North Plainfield NJ store. Your guys were great and very helpful. I needed two small batteries for my cordless phone. Your store charged me almost $50.00. I purchased the phone system which included the base which had an answering machine 2 receivers and a charging cradle for about $29.00. You guys are horrendously over priced!!! Had the sales person not offered to put them in for me I would have walked out of the store upon hearing the price. (which was after he installed them) I will never set foot in any of your stores again. I should have ordered on-line like my son told me to do. Came here for a car battery. Price was pretty reasonable (and they have a discount code if you purchase online). And they have free install! I had read something about needing to maintain power when changing batteries in Porsches (and probably other cars) so figured I'd have Batteries Plus do the change rather than doing it myself, since they have the gadgets to maintain the power through the change. I'd have to say that the guy helping me went above any beyond... apparently the corporate guidance didn't have any guidance for changing batteries in my vehicle, so he checked some online videos to confirm that he could do it. Whole process was quick.... in an out within about 20min. Note that they do the battery change outside in the parking lot, so best to avoid getting it changed during bad weather. read more

I am giving one star because you can't give less one star. Costumer service in this place is awful. Bought a battery for my lawn mower and died after one used. They said that was my negligence to let the battery die. As if I left the radio on the lawn mower. However they say the warranty is voided because the battery is dead (DUH) why would I bring back a battery that is working. They told that was not their problem that I drove 45 minutes and then they told me "Why did you buy here, you could have gone to home depot to buy a battery". I called today Monday with a manager and the person on the phone told me, the two guy who talked to me on Saturday were the managers. THIS IS THE WORSE PLACE TO BUY A BATTERY. I am copying this review into facebook and I will ask my friends and family to spread the word and to be aware of this business. read more

I really like this Batteries Plus store located at 513 rt. 22 west North Plainfield. It's just a short distance from Watchung Square Mall. U can pretty much find everything u need from cell/ smartphone batteries, laptop batteries, car/truck batteries,Marine Batteries, light bulbs and accessories. If u can't find what ur looking for don't hesitate to ask for some help. Batteries Plus has a professional on-site tech capable of building and assembling many types of batteries. This includes razors, shavers, power tools,toys like for a Barbie car. appliances, and things like outdoor lights etc. The staff is very friendly, especially Dennis. They are all very helpful in suggesting the best way for me to solve my battery problems. There is free parking and because this store is located on rt. 22 west it's easy to get in out. I was very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to return and get more of the batteries in my appliances fixed. read more

I went to this store to pick up a car battery for my 2005 Acura TSX. I used the company website to search for the battery types available and size required for my vehicle, and ordered and pre-paid for the battery online as well. I received an additional discount for buying online to boot. From there it was simply go to the store to pick it up, which was only 10 minutes from my home. I arrive at the store and my car battery was already waiting for me. I wasn't going to install it immediately to return the core and the folks at the store said "no hurry, whenever". When I did returned the core, they saw me struggling with the old battery and came over to open the door to the store and help me bring it in. Great place - friendly and obliging service. I have taken plenty of my watches here before. Went to get 2 watch batteries replaced in my invicta and coach watch. The guy looks at the watches and asks if there expensive because they normally don't change the batteries on "expensive" watches due to the liability. I told the guy that I have gotten my batteries replaced on my michele watch there and others with no issues. Refused to do it and told me to go to a jeweler. Like wtf kind of service is that? On the website it says that they do watch battery replacement. No asterisk on brands. Never going back here. Went to Adler's in Westfield and received first class service. read more

I usually don't write reviews but this has been frustrating enough and could have potentially left me stranded on the road. Ordered an XTAX12-BS AGM motorcycle battery on 9/25/2019 and picked it up in store. The employee working there had it ready, was very courteous and I was out of there in a few minutes. When I got home, I installed the battery onto my motorcycle and noticed it was defective (under load, when you rev your engine up to 4000-5000 revs the battery should read between 13.8-14.2 volts on a multimeter, which it did not). I returned to the store to get a replacement and was told that there's nothing wrong with the battery. They only seem to know the basic principle and kept on repeating "If the battery reads above 12.6 volts it's full." They clearly did not have knowledge about their batteries in use in a vehicle, under load, and the principles under those conditions. I've been repairing my motorcycle and its electrical components long enough to know when a battery is faulty, but I didn't argue with the employees working there and just asked for a replacement. As the guy took the first battery away he again muttered under his breath "There's nothing wrong with it." Okay, fine, forget it, moving on. I take the second battery on 9/25/2019 and install it on my motorcycle, and it read 13.9 volts at 5000 revs, great. Fast forward ONE week to 10/2/2019. I checked my battery before and after riding and noticed the voltage had dropped significantly, even though the voltage increased when I revved the motor, indicating the charging system on the bike was functioning. I take the battery out, hook it up to a Tender, charged it up to full (steady green light), disconnected the charger and I am currently watching the voltage drop BY THE SECOND. In a matter of minutes the voltage has dropped from 12.93v to 12.69v. This battery is clearly also defective, and had I not monitored its status, would most likely have been stranded somewhere. I don't know if something wasn't done correctly when they commissioned the battery but there's clearly something wrong at that store. I've purchased this exact battery from another B+B location before and had no issues. I will obviously be replacing this battery also and will no longer be going to North Plainfield location. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I needed 2 batteries for an old film camera. I checked online and Batteries Plus offered a specific battery for my exact camera. I made an online purchase to be picked up at the store. When I got there I wanted to make sure they fit. The guy behind the counter had an attitude and told me that once I opened the package they would not take them back. That's a joke since they specify on their website that they will fit. What a waste of time. I drove a half hour each way for nothing and all I got was a refund and no batteries. read more

Its rare to find a retail store with excellent customer service, but I found one. The staff was very helpful and found what I needed easily. They answered all my questions and made some suggestions on how to optimize my batteries life. OMG!! I went to the North Plainfield location of Batteries plus bulbs to get my cell phone screen fixed. They advertise just walk in (NOT!!!). The tech was not in and the guy working he did not know when he be in (REALLY). He suggested I go to the Raritan location the next day to get it fixed. OMG!!! I wait three hours to get it fixed. The guy was very nice but he was the only one working and did it between customers. They should have told me leave it in North Plainfield and come back for it. Because, I was too far to leave it in Raritan and come back for it. I had to wait the three hours there and waste time. They should NOT advertise this service if it takes so long. Oh! I even made an appointment thinking I would not have to wait too long on a Saturday but three hours is just too long when he said over an hour. My suggestion is to get your phone fixed somewhere else and find out how long it will take to fix it. I will never do this again. I wasted most of my Saturday on this fix and it was not even my phone it was my husbands. Nothing like passing the responsibility and inconveniencing the customer. read more
