worst place to fix your phone screen... one of the phones i fixed there is now not working from a !1ft fall! now its glitching... the hole where you connect the charger was %100 good, after i went to fixed it now its loose, all my chargers come off quickly and to make it worse the other phone i repaired the screen is not cracked nor have fallen and woke up to it not working... everything looks fine but no matter what i touch in the screen nothing moves... honestly if i could i would give multiple 0 rating .... its like they do a poor job so you can come back and they can keep you scamming for it smh... and it was expensive so just a waste of money completely to deal with these people read more

Replaced laptop touch screen, but it lasted only 1 month before popping out completely. Before bringing in my laptop for repair, I called the Device Shop in Westfield, NJ and spoke to the owner. I explained to him how my Lenovo Yoga 730 touchscreen had a crack in it and therefore no longer had any touch functionality. I had already purchased a replacement touchscreen, to save some money, since the laptop is nearly 5 years old. He said that was fine. A lot of his customers buy their own parts. I brought it in to the Device Shop the next day (Jan. 31st, 2023), at 51 Elm St. Westfield, NJ. The two men who were there to repair the laptop, were certainly not the owner. They agreed that they could use my already purchased touch screen, but that I wouldn't receive a warranty. I signed off on this and figured nothing could go wrong within a year anyway. The guy doing the repair said he'd call me back in 20 minutes after he "permanently" attached the screen and "the glue dried." He never called me back. After an hour, I called and he said, "Yes, come pick it up." I paid him the $133.28. (Picture 1) Within 4 weeks, the lower left corner was popped out of the casing, then the upper right corner popped out and the plastic piece covering the hinge screws fell off (picture 2). I was putting up with this until the screen completely fell forward out of the laptop and crashed onto the keyboard last week (picture 3). There was NO GLUE reattaching the touchscreen to the laptop casing. Just two thin strips of double sided tape with almost no adhesive on them (pictures 4 and 5) I guess when you buy your own parts and you can't be covered under warranty, The Device Shop completes a faulty repair which costs them nothing. Hard to believe I paid over $130 for two strips of useless tape. Unless the owner is COMPLETELY unaware of how his business is being operated, The Device Shop is run by scammers! I use them three times now and the service has been great. We repaired our iPad screen, a MacBook Air battery, and most recently my child's iPhone. It was damaged and it actually caught on fire during the repair. They tried to make me whole in a couple of different ways, but in the end got me, a perfectly fine iPhone, (prob refurbished) and it all worked out, didn't charge anything extra. I called late one day and George assured me that not only did he have my older iPhone's replacement battery in stock but that he could replace/repair it in ~ 40 minutes. I was the first one lined up outside the store when they opened 10 am promptly one Saturday am. As promised my older iPhone was given back to me like new, restored and working perfectly with a 6-month warranty! I cannot recommend this repair shop highly enough! A real gem in Westfield! Had them fix my husbands iPhone in a day!! They are very upfront about everything, explained what kind of screens were needed and what they would be able to get vs what they would have to order. Went to a couple other "fix it" chain locations to have an iPad battery replaced. They have a two week lead time. Found this place on Yelp and they for me in same day. Older iPad for the kids to mess up so the price was good. They have several technicians working which the repair quick. Luckily I found parking right in front and had lunch while I waited. If it were for this store, I would not have my mother's love. In seventh grade, I shattered my iPhone 6 screen many times-- six times, fittingly. I would accidentally push it off of the counter. I would step on it in between the auditorium seats. Sometimes, my phone would simply slide out of my hand onto the sidewalk. Yes, it may seem careless (or even slightly purposeful). Upon the realization that the iPhone 7 came out during seventh grade, one may lean toward the parenthetical explanation. Regardless of the causes and the various motivations behind them, my mother became distraught. The first time I brought home my shattered phone, though, she was fine. After thoroughly researching (asking her friend) which phone repair store was best, my mom discovered this divine establishment. The Device Shop fixed my phone screen for a rather inexpensive cost. And then, as aforementioned, it happened five more times. Each time, my relationship with my mother grew increasingly strained. Until the Device Shop saved the day. Visits to the Device Shop were always ones of glory, for every minute my phone lay in its hallowed halls, a rip sealed in the tapestry of me and my mother's relationship (yes, like the motion picture Brave). I think that I am the perfect person to review this place. I am completely and totally ignorant when it comes to technology. Every time I leave Verizon I want to cry, they make me feel so stupid with all the jargon they use. So for me - a person who is super sensitive and hates this stuff - to love a place like this, it really means something. The couple that run the shop were so, so kind to me. They explained everything they did on my phone and I felt very educated afterwards. There was nothing shady or intimidating about the experience. I feel strongly that these people are very honest. They worked on my phone for about 40 minutes and couldn't get it to work. I don't blame them, the thing was a total goner and beyond help. Here's the kicker, they didn't charge me anything! There have been so many times I've gone to places where they determine they can't help me, but they still charge me anyway. That was 40 minutes of free work which I really appreciate. Oh also, I literally just stumbled in there without an appointment near closing time and they took me right away. And the office is very cute, it looks like a winter lodge with the wood paneling. I wish I would just learn my lesson. But I cracked my iPhone screen (blamed it on my daughter once to hide my shame) and got it fixed here twice. The location is conveniently right in town. The guys are super friendly. They have toys and gadgets and colored pencils/paper for your toddler to keep busy with while you wait (because you obviously can't give your phone to them while it's being fixed - that's how it broke in the first place, wink wink). But while the fixin' is good, it don't come cheap. And that is why I bought a screen protector for my phone. The end. :) read more

I have an iPhone XR that had a shattered screen a few months ago. Suddenly the colored vertical lines appeared and you couldn't see the screen. I scheduled an appt Friday night and was there early Saturday morning. In a few hours the screen was as good as new. They did a great job, and provided good customer service. I recently had a battery installed in my 5 yr old Samsung S7 phone. The wait was only an hour and I was able to get an appointment that same afternoon. This was the second replacement battery I had installed in this phone. The previous one was installed a few years back by a different company. My battery was draining a lot again, as I use this phone a lot. I am impressed with how well this battery is working now. It seems better than the last one that was installed. Exceptional JOB! My 2 year old broke my wife's iPad (4th Generation) last week and had to instantly look for someone reliable and affordable to replace the screen. I set an appointment on their website and missed it (by accident). I called to reschedule and they said I could walk in anytime and they can fix it. They were very professional and even opened earlier than 10AM, so I was able to drop off my iPad 15 minutes before the doors were officially opened and they immediately worked on my iPad. They didn't actually fix anything for me, my daughters kindle stopped charging, the port was damaged. They were willing to do the repairs for us, however since the port is soldered to the device it was going to cost nearly the same as a new kindle. They were honest, helpful and friendly.
