Where history was made. The island where it all began! Though the true court #1 is private, we are welcome to play at the public park with a name as intense as Battle Point. The locale feels a poignant touch of history. All the friends and memories we pickleball players have made. All thanks to three dads one fateful summer afternoon. + There's a couple restrooms here and water fountain, but the restrooms are about a 3min walk away. + Plenty of parking. + Various friendly people to meet and play pickup with. I met both beginners and high-level players. We stopped off when we saw the sign heading away from Grand Forest. I found this park to be quite impressive. Massive, with literally something for everyone: every type of court & field, playgrounds, with great trails and beautiful trees. Everything appeared clean and well-maintained. We were two of only a handful of visitors on this cold winter day, but I bet it's a hopping place when warmer. read more

Ok so I remember playing soccer here as a kid and I always dreaded it because it was literally a sand pit. Well, no more! Bainbridge Island had poured some major money into this beautiful park and there is literally something for everyone here! The soccer fields are turf now, there's baseball fields, tennis courts, pickleball courts (like the nicest public pickleball courts I've ever seen), disc golf, a roller hockey rink, a wonderful playground, trails, an area to bbq, nice upkept bathrooms, and even an astronomy station. We picnicked and walked around this time, but I can't wait to come back to play disc golf and pickleball and let the kiddo on the playground! read more

This review is specifically for the Founders Courts at Battle Point Park. We were visiting the area and had to come to see the Founders Courts since Bainbridge Island is the home of pickleball after all. The Founders Courts area is really well done. Beautiful archway at the entrance, followed by about 8 well-maintained courts. There is some information about the history of pickleball displayed, as well. The pickleball community here is so welcoming and inclusive. We came here with the intention of just taking a look around but were convinced to join in and play a couple games. They have extra paddles and balls in the shed that you can check out. We enjoyed this part of the park very much and would love to come back! read more

We visited Battle Point Park to enjoy a leisurely stroll with a our friend's adorable dog Parking is a breeze - as soon as you enter the park you'll see the parking on the right. It's not paved so it can get muddy, and there are a fair amount of potholes.. you've been warned! We took the paved path to the right of the parking which leads you along some nice open greenery & a pond. We saw some cherry blossoms on the other side of the lake too. Very scenic walk! Since we visited the park midday on a weekday, there were not many people walking along the same path as us. The people and dogs we did pass were very courteous. read more

Really great park with tons of space for activity. Multiple sports fields, lots of open green space, trails, playgrounds, an observatory (locked up when I went, though). Had a really great time with my kid. The main playground is still under construction. Hopefully it will be done soon, then I'll update my review. Till then, four out of five stars. read more

This place is total gem on the island, for both those visiting and those who live here. We did minimal exploring of the actual park and spent the majority of our time at the gym for the kiddos! This gym opens at 10 and is only open for a few hours, but there are few better investments to entertain and tire out the kids for $4! Great for little toddlers who want to run and plenty of group type activities within the gym so you can keep plenty of your kin busy. A little off the beaten path, but somewhere we're going to be checking out on a regular basis. read more

This is a large, beautiful park on lovely Bainbridge Island. There is an extensive Washington-Nautical themed playground and a sand area filled with trucks for the little ones. There are also tennis courts, a picnic area, a long trail, and a beautiful little lake. read more

This is a great park! We brought our young boys here on the way to Olympic NP for a quick detour and it was well worth the 5 minute detour. Got them tired so they napped the rest of the drive. The play structure is HUGE, and ok for really small kiddos and older as well. There is also a large sand pit with lots of communal toys. Also there are tennis courts, disc golf, basketball court + roller rink combo, soccer / baseball fields, and more. read more

Been an Islander for most of my life, and some of the reviews below hit the nail on the head! If you've got kids, don't second guess the decision to visit the park. If you want to go for a bike ride, a walk, or a jog without the kids, this park is also for you. If you want some quite time alone, and just want to sit and listen, visit! I cannot stress how inclusive the large park is, there is something for everyone. Tennis courts, turf fields, baseball fields, an observatory for seeing the great big stars, a picturesque water-tower that may or may not still read 'DREAM' in "graffiti" (seriously, beat THAT!), bathrooms in good locations. The playground itself, however, is absolutely amazing. Brilliant spot. Creative design, well-made, safe, expansive, and unique. This isn't just a park playset. I have no clue who designed the playground area of Battle Point, but you can tell there was capital and a great team put to work to create such a wonderful area. Simply go! Enjoy, you will :) As for the 5 Stars, "as good as it gets", for a traditional all-around park, I truly believe that! read more

Battle Point Park is one of the best parks I have ever been to. There are so many things to do here, it's HUGE! 90 acres of land! When you enter to the right is a parking area, straight ahead is the Transmitter building where they hold Gymnastics classes and camps, and to the left there is additional parking for the park and play area. If you start your trip here going to the right there is a path you can follow that will take you to the duck pond and the gazebo. There are geese and ducks here. It is great to see in the spring when the babies are swimming around with their mothers. You can continue on the path for a nice walk or jog around the entire park. You will pass the soccer fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, and even a roller hockey rink. Once you make the entire loop you will be at the most awesome castle play set your kids have ever seen (or you can just pull in to the left when you arrive and start at the play area). This play area is amazing! There are lots of swings and even swings that are big red chairs! So many things to climb on, hang on, slide on, it is a child's dreamland. Come for a nice walk, bring your dog, have a picnic, throw a Frisbee, and enjoy this beautiful ENORMOUS park! You won't be disappointed. read more

Yes, this review is for the entire island. No, I haven't been all over, just across the highway, through a few neighborhoods, and around downtown.. the state park, lost here and there, to a winery, and even a dirt road on a construction site. It was rainy. I had always wanted to take a real ferry, like the kind you see in moves where the cars drive on them (I'm from socal), and we took the next one at the landing. It went to Bainbridge. We Yelped the nearest winery, using iYelp... but got too scared to go in, because it was down a dirt road and there were locals walking the streets. I'm sure they were nice, but I wasn't ready to talk. *it was early morning* So, we drove around. The scenery is beautiful. The homes are even more so! I really found the downtown to be quaint! I was totally disappointed of my weekend budget, otherwise I would have raided the mens apparel in some of the cute boutiques. And, to be honest, I was disappointed of the chain establishments around the sidelines. But I guess people are making the island into a year-round suburb as well... but, still. McDonalds?! Anyways. It was quite the morning adventure even though I was a grumpy boyfriend. It had the perfect woodsuburb feel, and I really wish I had 1.4million to drop on a bungaloo. Beautiful park for all ages. The playground has a mixture of all kinds of equipment. There are picnic tables, bathrooms and sufficient parking. There is a paved path that goes around the park for runners, bikers and walkers. We enjoyed the pond, geese and gazebo. We went for our first time in August and picked about 5 cups of blackberries from bushes all around the park. read more
