I routinely use Battleground Kia for my service needs on my Telluride. It is easy to schedule service online. Tony was great walking me through what was due and what was not needed yet. He made several recommendations and many of them were that something was not needed yet. I appreciated his input and will continue to bring in my vehicle for any issues I have. While I've never had a "great" experience dealing with cars, Battleground Kia has helped me on my last 2 purchases and my maintenance for the past 5 years. read more

Do not do business with Battleground Kia! I was dealing with Charles the sales manager and he was extremely rude towards me. I had a bad past experience and I thought I'd give battleground kia another opportunity to earn my business. I told Charles via text message I couldn't call at the moment and it would be a little difficult in the next day or so as my main job of two, is transportation and it's illegal to make calls when I'm at my job. I was able to text for a brief moment and during this time period, Charles became extremely rude and stated he would not submit my loan application and would delete my application. I felt as though I was being discrimized against. I filed a report with the BBB and the Consumer Products Commission. Please call 336-295-6357 and tell upper management that Charles needs to treat their customers with more respect and to have understanding to their customer's needs! I bought a Sportage on May 30, during the $250 gas card promotion. My salesperson was Joel Adams. I was told then that he checked with the manager and I could get a gas card, but the store was out of them and would have to be sent to me. I communicated with Joel a few times after that date and was told again that I would get my card. I was there in June to fill out the survey, asked Joel again about the card, and was told, "It's being worked on." I emailed him to inquire again about the card and did not hear back. So I then emailed the general manager, who did not respond as well. I called today, and Joel was placed on the phone. He says that the promotion ended 5 days before I came in, even though it was advertised on the website and social media platforms, and he mentioned I could get it. Then he claimed he sent me an email to tell me that; I never got an email from him. Funny, he could call and text to bug me to come in to complete a survey but could not do the same for the gas card. I brought these issues to his attention and also mentioned that they ran the same promotion again right after I bought my vehicle. He then said, "I'm just telling you what they told me; you emailed my general manager, so it is out of my hands". Seems like he is more upset that he got called to the carpet than he is about the fact that he has strung me along about my gas card since May. Make sure to get your incentives the day of or in writing. Anywhere else has to honor their promotion if it is still being advertised. It is called a rain check. Terrible communication between sales & service departments. Also incomplete solution to my issue. I sought out Battleground Kia because I've had good service from them before on routine recalls. In this particular event, my issue is that my entire key ring was stolen - key fob, flashlight, everything attached to it. After weeks of using our 2nd fob in hopes of the stolen one being recovered by the police, I decided to bite the bullet and get a replacement second fob and make sure both and the car were reprogrammed so that if the other set turns up in the wrong hands, it wouldn't open the door. The emergency key might open the door but the car wouldn't move. New key fob works but physical key doesn't, and if physical key is a separate item, that should be made clear to the client. Worse, communication within the org, particularly between sales & service, is terrible. I was routed via phone between both places and despite ordering part, scheduling, and receiving confirmation that fob was received for me, on arrival I was told I needed to order the fob. Then with key not working, I called in, talked to both sides, set a time, and came in - only to be informed that it was a separate purchase, not in stock, and would need to be ordered and a third return visit scheduled. And as it turns out, only the new fob works. The old physical key and the new fob work. So basically I'm out the $, the time, and I'm no better off on the practical side of things. So... please answer my PHONE CALLS and let's set up a time to complete the work I've paid for already. read more

Avoid dealing with this dealership at all costs. Very deceptive salesmen. I was contacted by their internet sales manager Charles Stec and while being fairly rude on the phone including lines such as "do you want the car or not?" I still came to what clearly appears to be an agreement according to his own text response. The $41,000 quote was his initial quote after the first call. Then he called back and came down to $40,500 and I told him we could schedule an appointment to check out the vehicle. About an hour later I went ahead and sent the message stating if he agrees to $40,000 even we could call it a deal. He respond with "Sounds good." So my wife and I drove an hour the next day to go to the appointment where they proceed to go back on the $40,000 and present an offer of $40,500. And in Charles' own words verbatim he stated that he intentionally left his "agreement" to the deal vague just to get us down there. Obviously we left without the vehicle and happily found a near identical one in Raleigh for $900 cheaper. Every step in their customer service process needs work. I bought a Telluride there in 2022 because it was rated the best SUV by several sources and I live nearby. That did not go smoothly but I figured I wouldn't need to deal any further with the sales staff, so I'd just use their service dept since it is convenient. My service experiences for the multiple recalls on the car have all been filled with lack of, or very poor communication and failure to follow up on orders for parts. Estimates for how long work should take have been wildly inaccurate . I feel this is all unacceptable service. I hope if I ever use them again there will be reason to write a great review as I enjoy writing those more. read more

Did one of those "see how much your car is worth" forms online last night around 10pm. They called before I had even finished all of the form options. Said "hey, getting the oil changed tomorrow. If you comp the oil change, I'll sit down for whatever sales pitch you've got in mind." "Well let me talk to my manager." "My manager says we'll totally throw in an oil change for your old car if you trade it in." At that point I knew they were being scummy, declined further conversation. I'm writing today because I just received phone call number 5 from them trying to convince me that a free oil change for a car I'd be trading into them is actually a good deal. The sales people are really nice, but when it is time to close the deal you'll be there forever. They do not value your time at all. High pressure sales/finance tactics are used...expect to hear the phrase "what's it gonna take to get you into this car today?". I was offended when the middle man finance guy (the one that delivered that ridiculous line) came at me like there was some kind of problem with my credit. I know I have excellent credit ... so I asked directly "WHAT?". You'll be held hostage until you agree to pay gap insurance you do not need or want just so you don't have to wait for the paper work to be redone. Duane the finance manager guy will try to shame you into paying for an extended warranty on a used/ pre owned car that I'm pretty for sure is worthless. Also, check all of the paperwork you are signing. When you are given a white/yellow/pink triple copy look through each page to ensure the numbers match the purchase price you agreed upon. I got screwed thinking it was ok to sign that paperwork without looking at each page. I'm pretty sure they violated finance laws but once I signed I felt bound to that contract agreement. Do not listen to any noise about your monthly payment negotiate on the price of the car. read more

It's crazy that I RAN here to write a review but I didn't even have to. I went in to purchase a car, because my car is getting too small for my family. I get a great salesman (Dasean), and he's doing all he can do...but when it goes to their manager for the appraisal on my car, he valued it two thousand dollars less than what was offered because I received a paint job when someone hit my car (you can't even tell, so I'm trying to figure out how he saw that so fast). This man had the most terrible attitude, and it's like he doesn't care who see's it. Makes me wonder why you're there in the first place. Anyway, that took my negative equity up (that's fair). The ONLY option given was to put a certain amount down or I couldn't get the car. There's always more than just one option. I'm always okay if we've exhausted all of our options, and it just doesn't work out. That's fair. I understand why it's tricky with negative equity, but AT LEAST make sure you do all you can before just writing someone off. I've been with Kia for a long time. When I was still living in LA, they always did ALL they could to be helpful, here, it's pure trash, their service included. And I'm calling corporate tomorrow . read more

Their website says they have all sorts of specials: $1000 matching downpayment - NO- won't do - FALSE ADVERTISING, $4,000 over KBB - NO won't do, FALSE ADVERTISING Low ball your trade in by $2000, and as if that is not bad enough.... They mark up the cost of the vehicle by A LOT. Kia Sportage X-line MSRP $31,090. They wanted $40,085 (before taxes and fees). I asked for them to print window sticker and asked them why are they so much higher - their response...you don't think we charge the MSRP rate do you?? Anyway, after staying and trying to haggle for 2 hours, had to get up and walk out. Their best price was still over $3,000 MORE than University Kia - where I got more trim package items, no hastle, no gimmicks. They charge the MSRP + regular fees + taxes. Called to speak to the salesman that sold me the car and told him what was going on with my car. I bought it in March and there is a six month warranty on it. I'm thinking that they would be able to get me in as soon as possible being the reason for me call. No, he told me that they would not be able to get me scheduled until mid July. Then he proceeded to say, "If you want to get it looked at as soon as possible you will have to take it somewhere and pay for it". I asked him what was the purpose of him giving me his number if he was not will not help me. Everything being said, they do not keep they're word. Had to get a new car last summer, worst time to be buying a car, my previous car was a Kia Optima so went back to battleground Kia. Sales guy was working with 3 customers at the same time, didn't explain a so before thing about the car, finance guy rushed us through the process and snuck in a $4,000 warranty without discussion, which out my payment $75 over what I told them I could afford. Noticed it too late to do anything. Don't trust them at all. Now I need a couple things fixed on my car but after reading reviews about service dept. I'm scared to take my car there. I'm sure they will make up some issue that isn't covered by the warranty so I'd have to pay for the diagnostic and then pay for the fix. My regular mechanic told me what's wrong and how much it would be, it's pricey but I'd rather pay someone I trust than risk something worse happening to my car. Honestly if you decide to purchase a car with battleground Kia use caution!! I felt very pressured into buying a 2017 Kia Sorrento. Granted it's a solid car but I wish they would've allowed me to look at some other vehicles (which I tried to do but the guy wouldn't let me) before feeling pressured to buy the Kia Sorrento. I purchased the vehicle because I really needed something reliable and the vehicle I had was almost dead. Within two weeks of owning the Kia Sorrento the battery completely died and I had to spend $260 on a new battery. Then today found out that the oil cap was not put on correctly resulting in an oil leak and another $50 to have it looked at fixed and oil added back to the vehicle. If you buy a used vehicle don't believe that they fully inspected it!!! have your own mechanic look at it or just don't buy from here at all. Consider yourself warned! read more

My husband and I were in the market for a new car, we had several dealerships reach out to us with Battleground Kia being one of them, I told the lady who was persistent in calling that I already had a quote from Carolina Kia and we were going there the next day but she assured me that Battleground Kia guaranteed that they would beat any other offer we had. I asked her if she could send me a written quote with the walk-away cash price for the car we were looking at and again she stated Battleground Kia guaranteed they would beat any other offer. I told her we would be there the next day due to the bad weather, we got there and the salesman we had I forgot his name was exceptional in his service and knowledge in helping us, he had only been there 3 and with his drive and friendly attitude he will go far if he leaves this dealership, we were there for the test drive, gave them the quote we had from Carolina Kia and the oral quote from another dealership, the salesman takes these to his manager and just like us thinking he was going to make a sale and we were going to get a better deal we were ready to write a check and leave with a new car, an easy deal no trade-in, no financing, and easy transaction. While the manager was doing whatever he needed to do our salesman had another customer come in and he stepped away to give them some paperwork, in the meantime the manager came to us with a quote that was over $1000 yes $1000 more than what the quote we had from Carolina Kia in High Point. We asked what happened to the "guaranteed" price we were told and he said they just couldn't do it, so all they did was waste our time, so what we get from this is that they are not an honest dealership. We talked all week by emails concerning what we wanted and settled on a car. She made us a out the door offer for certain car. We made a appointment to come see it. She told me in a email the day before that our car had sold but that she would have another like it waiting at our appointment time. We arrived as scheduled the next day and there was no Lauren there. Not only was she not there but neither was the car. We where handed off to a total of 3 people while we where there . Even though we made the long drive there to find out the car we negotiated for wasn't there all they did was try and bait and switch us and would never honor the price we where given even after showing the email. So we left and went to Burlington Kia who was very nice to deal with and sold us what we wanted at what I think was a fair price. Save your self some headache and avoid Battleground Kia at all costs. I took my KIA Sorento in today for a rear door latch assembly repair. I had a 1 pm appointment. After waiting an hour, I checked on my vehicle and it had not been looked at yet. I was told another 20 min to determine what was wrong. The diagnostics took less than 5 min and I witnessed the repair from the waiting area. Total time spent on my vehicle was less than 45 min including the diagnostics. The bill totalled $365 of which $270 was for labor. I questioned that charge, asked for the hourly rate, and was told that the labor was by the job (what the market would bear). I questioned the charge again and was given a $20 discount and a free car wash. In total I spent 3 hours there for a 45 min job and was charged a ridiculous amount of money. I'm in the market for a new vehicle and they just lost a customer. read more

My check engine light came on and I took it to Battleground KIA, who diagnosed it for $147.18 (just hooking it up to a computer costs that??) Anyway, they said it would cost me and additional $2376.65 to fix it, and it may take several days to a couple weeks depending on the supply chain. Since they tried to rip me off before, I got a second opinion, and its a good thing I did. I ended up paying $192.15 for the repairs, and the trustworthy repair shop had it done in hours. Now thats a pretty large discrepancy. So, my suggestion is to find a good mechanic and forget this dealership, they are dishonest. read more

When I discovered it and called and asked for a manager to get back to me...the call was never returned. What a surprise, right.... The warranty money itself does not come back to you if you cancel it but will simply shorten your loan. Cancellation is a very difficult process in itself. What a bunch of typical car salesmen. Y'all know what I'm talking about. I will not come back to this place for servicing of my Kia Soul. I was initially pleased with the way my purchase went....until I found out what was up.
