    Cannon view of Chattanooga.

On a week long trip throughout Tennessee, this happened to be one of the highlights. My boyfriend and I came on a Sunday morning and were one of the only visitors here but thoroughly enjoyed the privacy. Point Park was amazing and absolutely worth the $10 entry fee; the views and park path down to a hidden museum on the side of the mountain are simply spectacular and offer great photo opportunities! The museum up at the top before the park entrance is also pretty neat, and offers visitors a chance to see the famous $20,000 painting from 1874 of the Civil War as well as a 30-minute video presentation. Absolutely a must see when traveling through Chattanooga.

This is the perfect starting point before touring the area"s Civil War sites. So, visit here first. The battles for Chattanooga changed the outcome oh the Civil War. It was the beginning of the end for the South. Spectacular features: There are two canons out front that make a wonderful photo opportunity for tourists. There's also a 30 minute video to watch in here that costs $8 to watch. Now this museum is free. The gift shop is bigger with lots of stuff to buy anywhere from DVDs and confederate hats to drinks and ice cream. My recommendation is to not drive up here but to ride the Incline Railway up here. Then , you can also visit Point Park too after the Battles of Chattanooga. After doing the Incline Railway, visiting Point Park then tour The Chattanooga and Chickamauga National Military Parks.

Of you're going to go to this, get the Rock City annual pass. It's a small (but rather good) gift shop and a 30 min video with a diorama of the battle areas. The lights on the diorama show were a little hard to follow. The "museum" was two tiny rooms with artifacts that had tiny printed comment boxes that were hard to read. They didn't even turn up the lights at the end so we can see the diorama and the details. The video did help paint the picture of the battles that happened in that area, but that's about it. It's ok, but it definitely needs some work.

For a small obscure location, this place is a gem. Tons of historic artifacts and information. Definitely worth stopping by.

Whether you're…read morea lifelong car enthusiast or someone who couldn't tell a Model T from a Mustang, this place is absolutely fascinating. It ended up being one of my favorite museums I've ever visited. The museum is built around the incredible collection of the Coker family, who made their name through Coker Tire, and you can feel the passion behind every display. I had the chance to meet Casey, who now helps lead the family business, and she was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. It was so refreshing to see a family-run museum where everyone genuinely loves what they do. The collection is unbelievable. You'll find everything from antique automobiles and classic sports cars to vintage trucks, motorcycles, race cars, buses, and even airplanes hanging from the ceiling. They also have a working restoration shop where you can watch vintage vehicles being brought back to life, plus displays of the original tires and automotive memorabilia that tell the story behind the collection. One of the coolest pieces was the historic Yellowstone tour bus used in filming, which was such a fun surprise. (Content Rhino) At $25 per person, this museum is worth every penny. We spent far longer here than we expected because there was always something new to discover around every corner. Even if cars aren't normally your thing, the history, craftsmanship, and stories behind these vehicles make this an experience you won't forget. Hands down, this is one of the best museums I've visited, and it's now at the top of my list of recommendations for anyone visiting Chattanooga.

Kind, polite, personable, and very passionate about their collection and their family. The vibe of the museum was our favorite part too. The garage vibe isn't something I've seen yet, and honestly, it's really something special in their favor. We took three laps around the museum and found something new every time. My favorite was the Piper Cub. I rode in one myself in high school. I never thought I'd see one again so it was a very special moment for me! I highly recommend this museum whether by yourself, with your family like I was, or for an event.

The attendants at the check-in are so helpful. I booked the next available appointment, which was about an hour or so away, but that left me plenty of time to take in views from the observation decks. There is also a restaurant in the castle as well as zip lining, if you want additional things to do while you wait for your guided tour to begin. (I recommend getting your tickets online if you come in a group, especially during the summer months and on weekends.) Parking is free and there are numerous places to park. The experience is really eye-opening and the video at the beginning tells the story of the cave formation and why it was named Ruby Falls. Very interesting! The walk takes about 60-70 minutes back and forth. You will see amazing stalagmites and stalactites along the way. Distinct lighting is added to the cave to enhance your experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. It does get cool down in the caves (around 60 degrees) and I was glad I took a light jacket once I got about halfway through the process. The waterfall and the lighting at the end were something to see! Minor issues-they packed about 40-50 people in our tour group. A group leaves every 10 minutes or so. As such, you have to hug up against a wall NUMEROUS times as previous groups are coming back from the waterfall experience. You have to make room to let them pass. The wait for the elevator to take you back up to the top is also a tedious wait. This could be due to the summer crowds, so plan accordingly. If you are claustrophobic, this may not be the experience for you.

We've done various cave type tours around the US on our travels and this would not be one I would return to. It's such a cool waterfall and cave but completely ruined by management trying to cram as many people in as possible to make more money. We had about 40-50 people in our group and the entire time you are expected to stop and go to one side to let other groups of 40-50 people go by. With this many people in the narrow walkway, you can expect it to smell like sweat and any other odors of people near/passing by you. They also kick you out of the waterfall area within a few minutes because you are then holding up other tours. The staff and tour guides throughout our experience were really pleasant and the waterfall was beautiful. We were just shocked that they allow group sizes that big and in 10 minute intervals each. It truly ruined the experience for us and management should be ashamed as there are hundreds of similar reviews stating the same concerns.
