We were here for an entire week in Chattanooga and able to travel up the mountain 4 of those days! What amazing views of surrounding area! And the people I'll never get over how wonderful they were all were to us! We went to Ruby Falls rock city Park point and stopped at several of the small shops on the way up. We could not do the incline due to my grandson's fear Heights, but we did watch it several times from different advantage points every penny we spent was worth it and 1 million more. The memories made this week will last a lifetime for me and I'm so thankful we were able to take our grandsons and experience this beautiful amazing place with them. read more

It was very crowded which was expected during the holidays. Rock city was really cool and the views were beautiful and I'm sure would be much better on a clear day. It was pretty expensive but still worth trying in my opinion there's a good amount to look at. read more

Fun for the whole family! We had family in town over the holidays so we decided to take them to Chattanooga to see Lookout Mountain. We piled up in two cars and were there within two hours. I came here years ago with my family and from what we remembered, we didn't have to pay a fee to see the attractions. However, we paid ~$25 per adult this time. The fee just gives you access. Just a very short, easy hike and you're at the top of the mountain where lover's leap is. The view is breathtaking. You can even see 7 states from there (see photos). You can take a longer way, by squeezing in through Fat Man Squeeze where you'll see the stunning Ruby Falls and go through a cave where there's more attractions. I recommend doing that to get your money's worth. What's great is they have a stroller and handicap access! read more

Love this place! Well organized and a fun easy hike. If you have littles or mobility issues there is plenty you can see and do. If you enjoy walking for 2 hours, you'll enjoy seeing lots of different paths, a waterfall, and rock formations. read more

BEA-U-TIFUL! As much as I would like to post more pics, pictures will do it no Justice! This beaut is something that you just should encounter in person. As part of my Tennessee trip, we stopped here to just see the views. Prepare before you come. Make sure you have on comfy shoes, and dressed for the weather. There is a lot of walking....A LOT! There were a few spots where you walk between these rocks and you have to walk sideways. Anxiety beware! Claustrophobics, be cautious! It is surely a slim path. At one point, there is an area where you can view 7 states. Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama! It was pretty sweet. Of course, all you see is trees, but I trust that they didn't lie to me. I mean, they had no reason to, lol! Go, if you can! Enjoy the sites, and get your sweat on. This is another fun place to visit and go for a hike. They've got different trails & viewpoints like lovers leap. There's statues on the mountain to take pictures of and people bring their dogs, etc. You'll want to pack plenty of water & bring a camera. It gets crowded during the summer especially around any of the landmarks so be aware of that before you go. There's a ton to do in the area as it's a tourist hotspot. read more

We only had a full day to spend in the area . ... like many others we came to see the solar eclipse and we spent two night i n Chattanooga .. travel took most of the first day so only 1 full day to see and do as much as could. The aquarium, lookout mountain, the incline, Ruby falls and Rock City were all on my list to try to do. We did it all in one day but it was full tiring day and we had to rush to get it done. we had a car and started at Rock city, the view from up the mountain was quite nice. then went to Ruby falls, and the incline .. then rushed to the aquarium. Rock city and Ruby falls are not for the handicapped. There were some places at Rock City that were narrow and I'd day their is a size limit. With that being said i'm not a small person but if you are 300-500 pounds it may be a real problem. YOu can't take strollers or wheel chairs. read more

First time we visited here - although we have seen their signs on highways for more than 50 years! Sorry that we waited so long to visit. Plenty of parking, casual strolling though their rock gardens, good food in their cafes, and the views ... wow, there are no words to describe the spectacular views. Will definitely be back again to visit. read more

This is a great day-trip adventure for anyone! They even have a ADA trail. We enjoyed walking along the trails and seeing the amazing rock formations and waterfalls. There is music playing as you walk and inside the different caves it was magical! There are several resting stops and restrooms along the way. Also therat least two cafes, one even atop the lookout. Would definitely recommend this sight-seeing stop. read more

The drive to lookout mountain was really scenic. We stopped at the first stop which had a gift shop and the ticketing shop. It was a bit crowded when we went (a couple days after christmas). People wanted to go to the Ruby Falls. When people bought the tickets, there was a time that they could go in. Instead of going to Ruby Falls, we drove up the mountain to go to the trolley station but it was closed on December 31st. The drive was still really beautiful nevertheless. read more

Point Park- is the best place to get a roundabout ish view from the top. Great place to take a stroll, look at the Moccasin Bend, and take in the beautiful view of Chattanooga. The Och museum is small but they do have some great historical bits in there. Parked at the visitor center for free, paid $5 per person for Point Park admission. Afterwards, we checked out the little shop and it was cute. Ruby Falls- we were advised by a local not to go because it would be a waste of money. And we weren't interested in a man controlled waterfall. Rock City- we didn't get to check it out but heard great things. We saw a Starbucks sign. read more

Had to check this place out because we wanted to see 7 states from one location. We drove up to Rock City and a bit disappointed that ticket price admission per person was $22. I think $15 would be more reasonable for the attraction. We paid because we figured were only there once. We began the walk- and made it to see lookout mountain and an amazing view. By the way the 7 states part I walked past because I thought it was a big thing on the floor of the lookout view but it is on a small sign on the railing so don't miss it . Its cute for all ages but I would be careful with elder people because of the stairs and tight fitting spaces between some rock s you have to walk by. Tip: wear sneakers , don't bring a stroller because of tight spaces, take a panoramic shot with your camera to capture it all, bring water or buy a drink to keep you hydrated. read more

This was so fantastic to see the beautiful view from up top and especially the "see seven states" sign. It's a great experience to take everything in. However my only complaint is the lookout view and picture stop was my only interest at Rock City. But you need to take a major hike through a bunch of trails and crap I don't care about. The map is helpful but there are no signs to really show you are headed in the right direction. I had no idea where I was probably the entire time I was there with the exception of lookout mountain top. Absolutely beautiful and the view of the mountain side with the waterfall defiantly meet and exceeded my expectations! read more

The views are great, but overall this attraction is pretty cheesy. The areas that were natural (i.e. the needles tunnel, the scenic views, the beautiful waterfall, the caverns, etc.) were really nice to see. However these nice natural features were polluted with janky props and little figurines in an effort to seem more appealing to tourists. The price you pay to walk through this is also pretty outrageous. Don't go to Lookout Mountain expecting to see something comparable to a National Park. The natural scenery is nice, but the tacky addition of props is very hard to overlook. read more

Driving from ATL to Nashville. I'd heard about "Lookout Mt" but had no idea what to expect. We were really surprised. Really cool stone trail through little gorges with names like Fat Man's Squeeze and Needle's Eye. You walk across a wobbly "Swing A Long" bridge over another gorge. Cool. And it's nuts with the little gnomes hidden away on the trail and the black-lit Fairyland Caverns. Just really imaginative. Scenery and walking oath just gorgeous nature. And the views! We were lucky enough to be there on a clear, low humidity, sunny day. We had a good shot at seven states. In any event the views are spectacular. The folks are all very friendly. Southern hospitality all the way. Also, a really cool drive just to get up to the mountain top, and some beautiful homes up there. Follow the signs for Rock City. Well worth it. On a clear day you can see 7 states from Lookout Mountain. We were not that lucky on the day we visited, but even though there were low clouds, it was still a great view. A must see when visiting Chattanooga. read more

If you are touring Chattanooga, you have to come to this mountain! Otherwise you're doing it wrong. This mountain has Ruby Falls, Rock City Garden. Point Park, and more! All attractions have a price, with point park being the cheapest. You will have a tour guide in ruby falls which is the reason we skipped it. I like to go at my own pace. There are triple combo deals so check them out online. Also local hotels offer $1 off coupons. read more
