Baue has been the funeral home of choice for my family for decades. They have always done a great…read morejob from start to finish. Most recently as soon as we learned of my great- aunt's passing, I went up to the home to get boards to make her memorial photo boards and they were ready immediately. This Cave Springs location is beautiful and is fully staffed to direct visitors to the correct room. There is also ample space for refreshments in a place where family can go to decompress and children can feel more comfortable away from the main viewing room. Today we were there to attend the wake of a neighbor. Not only does my family trust Baue, but most of my friends and acquaintances also choose them as well. Sadly, I have been here more times than I can count in addition to their location on Kings Highway in Saint Charles. Can it be expensive? Yes, but you get what you pay for. I highly recommend.

And my dad was a normal size man. 6'3 and 200 lbs, they come 3 hours later while we have to see my dad just lie there dead and sent two ladies under 5'5 who weight nothing. They had to get the police to help, who were grown me . Then their EV van breaks down in my driveway, where my dead father sits. They call us later and arrange times for us to meet and tell me we will meet with Jennifer. We come and it's a man named Andrew who did everything he could to make us spend a ton of money even though I told him what my dad told us he wanted. Andrew had us sit there for hours waiting on him to make all these statements of different ways to get more money from us. We never met Jennifer. We ordered two death certificates, we had to pay for them and we were told we would get them when the doctor signed off. They sent one to the I srua ne company without telling us, asking us or even allowing us to make a copy and send it. The life insurance paperwork stated a copy would suffice but Baue took it upon their selves to sent it. When they finally cremated my dad 3 weeks later because they claimed the doctor didn't sign off, they refuse to tell me when we could get their ashes. They had me driving from one building to another ad. Gave us an assistant. This little assistant lady kept telling us she was not comfortable telling us when we could get their ashes and they will call me when they can. I had to give my name 43 times and number because they couldn't tell me anything ever. That's all I was ever told. And they gave me emails that were wrong when I was sick as hell, they made this whole process horrid. And after I got my father's ashes they sent me a coupon for 600 off for someone in my family if we plan in 6 months how disgusting is this place. And the coupon only works if we choose to have the ceremony there.

The lack of communication and organization has been unacceptable. We have had to make repeated calls just to get updates, and every interaction has left us feeling like our concerns didn't matter. Today was the final disappointment. We returned so my mother's ashes could be placed in an urn, and they weren't even prepared for our arrival or aware that we were coming. During one of the most difficult times in a family's life, this level of disorganization is simply inexcusable. Handling a loved one's remains should be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Instead, we experienced poor customer service, confusion, and a lack of professionalism throughout the entire process. No family should have to fight for basic communication and respectful treatment while grieving. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend W.C. Harris Funeral Home.

I explained this so they did not think Rita was her middle name. During the planning meeting with the funeral director, I stated this. Also, she did not like flowers so I asked that her obit stated no flowers please. We wrote obit at meeting & I signed it. They posted the obit with the name Mary under her photo & a link to send flowers. I called upset & it was corrected. At her service the signage said Mary & even the ashes I took home had Mary listed on the bag. The worst part when when I viewed her prior to cremation. They mentioned she would be in the hospital gown she was wearing in the hospital. I also said she doesn't wear makeup so please don't apply any when I see her. They had the photo I provided for obit. They put heavy foundation, rouge & dark lipstick on her. Most upsetting was they had her in, what appeared to be a push up bra. They made her breasts look like cones very high on her chest. She was 81 years old. No one arriving from the hospital morgue after suffering a heart attack is wearing a push up bra under the hospital gown. Why would they do this? I posted a review on their website & they took it down. Don't trust your loved one with a company that can't even get their name correct despite multiple reminders.

I say this from a different perspective than most reviewers because I worked in the banquet and event industry for years. I know what it takes to execute an event well and how quickly little things can go wrong. I have never seen an event executed as flawlessly as ours was. Our guests were impressed, our families were amazed, and most importantly, my bride was treated like an absolute princess. Our experience with Trigg started about a year before the wedding. I had attended events there before and always had a memorable time, so I recommended that my then-fiancée and I meet with them. We had already done tastings at other venues. They were nice, but pretty much what you'd expect: us, our moms, a chef or event planner, an empty banquet room during business hours, trying to imagine what the room would look like during an actual reception. Then we went to Trigg. They offered us a private tasting, but we attended one of their monthly tastings instead, and it absolutely blew us away. The entire room was set up like an actual wedding reception: DJ, photo booth, lighting, bar, buffet displays, passed appetizers, different table and linen setups, centerpieces, hotel representatives for room blocks, plus recommendations for cakes, flowers, formal wear and other vendors. Instead of asking us to imagine our wedding, they actually showed us what it could be. Even our moms were in awe. We tried the food, used the photo booth, heard from vendors and met the owner, Terry, who personally went around introducing himself. And the food was phenomenal. Having worked in this industry, I know there's a huge difference between preparing a few great tasting portions and producing that same quality for a room full of people. Trigg proved they could do both. By the end of the tasting, both our moms were telling us to book. We couldn't book fast enough. Some of our original dates were taken, and Trigg worked with us to find alternatives. They offered the DJ, Chiavari chairs, reasonable bar packages, fantastic appetizers and several great dinner options. The hardest part was deciding what we wanted. For the record: Beef Tenderloin and Chicken Marsala. Great decision. Later, we met with Tommy to finalize our menu and details, and then there was Chef Chessa. We gave her a challenge. Our guests included vegans, vegetarians, gluten-free guests, people with shellfish allergies and diabetics. She didn't treat a single request like an inconvenience. She exceeded expectations for every one of them, in some cases preparing specific plates for individual dietary needs. That's above and beyond, and it meant a lot to us and our guests. Roughly two months before the wedding, we ran into a scheduling conflict with the church and were struggling to make the timeline work. Trigg suggested having the ceremony at the banquet center. I'll admit, I was apprehensive. I didn't want to inconvenience our guests or create an awkward transition between the ceremony and reception. Instead, Trigg made it completely seamless. The ceremony ended and drinks and appetizers began almost immediately afterward. The execution on our wedding day was seamless, flawless and flat-out impressive. We had Teams meetings beforehand, selected our songs, prepared our programs and established a timeline. I even managed to get us about ten minutes behind schedule, but their team never lost control of the event. Wedding-party introductions, dinner, prayers, speeches, cake cutting, first dances and everything in between stayed organized and flowed naturally. Their staff moved with a sense of urgency, which, having worked in this industry, I can tell you is something you don't always see. Terry personally checked on us during the reception, as did his team. Our DJ was fantastic and even honored one particularly important request from the bride and groom: not a single Taylor Swift song was played the entire night. To each their own! My wife wasn't stressed. She was treated like a princess. She was able to enjoy her wedding instead of worrying about what was happening behind the scenes. It truly was one of the happiest days of her life--and mine. I've never heard as many compliments during and after a wedding as we got about ours. Guests were still talking about it the next day. Trigg accommodated our guests. They even let my Dobermans be part of our day. But most importantly, they understood something that sometimes gets lost in all the logistics of planning a wedding: the bride wants to feel like this is her day. Trigg made absolutely certain that it was. Happy wife, happy life--and if you want to start yours off right, I would recommend booking Trigg Banquet Center as soon as you can. Trigg helped give my wife the wedding day she dreamed about and gave both of us a day we'll never forget. Five stars doesn't feel like enough.
