I lost a lot a few years ago due to chronic health issues one of which affected my nervous system for years. In the past being unaware, I would try to go to dance but brain issues prevented me from being fully present in it, and finally I gave up when it got worse. As I found out my issues, I began healing and decided to return to dancing as a way to continue that. And now, as my body has started to regained health I can finally enjoy it. Salsa salsa gave me a place to go after I lost a lot. It gave me friends and a community and such wonderful, kind instructors that unknowingly are helping me heal. Very grateful for it.

Ms Jasmine was nice and caring and gave bandages for her wound. Today we found out a small piece of wood still left in her front calf. This concerns us. Every time I need to rent space, I write to Caroline first, I have even moved rehearsals around to make sure we can use the Eva Dean space. They are truly there to accommodate and help. Caroline makes herself available to you in any way she can and the space itself is open, flexible, quiet, functional, and a great size, the perfect size actually. I attended a Friday night session of BollyX dance class for free as part of a Brooklyn Fit series…read more I'm a dancer at heart but mostly in the salsa genre where I can "shake what my mama gave me" without hesitation. Though I was new to the Bollywood style of dancing, I loved every minute of class! It was a non-stop, head-to-toe workout, that left you wanting more even if you were wiped out. The instructor was high energy and the playlist was so fun. We danced about 5-6 songs and were instructed to follow our teacher's steps. Warning to those who haven't been to a dance class, the steps aren't broken down into segments. It's more of a watch and get right into the steps all at once. The class ended with a 5 minute ab series in sync with the music and a cool down. Classes are typically $15 for a drop in and they have a full schedule of classes ranging from ballet to Africand dance. I'll definitely be back for more!

My husband and I gave our son a $399 gift…read morecard for his birthday which he could not redeem because of inexcusable customer service and absurd policies where this merchant is only look out for themselves and not their clients. My son's lesson was scheduled on a night he had a flight delay. He politely text the studio (the only way they will communicate) asking if they could push his time slot up because of his delay to which they responded no ~ he could either use whatever time was left of his 2 hour lesson that night (2 hours cost $399 which is absurd in itself) or he could take an open spot on the following day because there happened to be a cancellation. Because of prior commitments, my son could not take this spot but they offered no other option to rescheduling his lesson. When he expressed that he and his partner were really looking forward to the lesson and that no other option seemed unfair, BK Dance told him he was not allowed to come to the studio to redeem what would have been left of his 2 hour lesson because they felt threatened. My son is the most polite person in the world and his disappointment was certainly not a threat! My husband and I lost $399 down the drain because of their inability to understand the flight circumstance which was completely out of my son's control. Zero empathy was practiced and this place is a scam. When I looked more closely after hearing this extremely upsetting story, I came to see that BK Dance is not a real studio, it's just someone's apartment in Brooklyn that they push the furniture around in to make a buck and pretend to give a dance lesson. They are all actors. Go on Instagram, to see for yourself; have a good laugh and be happy I saved you the trouble of booking. Anyone looking to schedule a quality dance experience will be wasting their money and taken for a ride at BK Dance.
