We have been very happy with Baxter Windows! We got quotes from Anderson Renewal (super high) and also Window World (cheap and really poor reviews) and then Baxter. The owner Nathan has been super involved from the start. He even met us at the showroom on a Sunday to answer some questions as it was the only day my husband and I could meet together. Nathan helped us decide, didn't try to up sell us to higher priced windows we didn't need, explain the track record of the brand of windows we chose, and was involved during the installation to ensure everything went well. Baxter Windows & Doors recently installed our 9 windows with single hung, slider and picture windows. The technicians were very friendly and the finished product is very professional in appearance. The code inspector also complimented the quality of work. With that said, there were some areas that would not affect a repeat use of this company, but I feel is notable. -When installing, the technicians did not note that the windows were numbered, rather selected windows based on their relative size. This caused an initial install of window 6 (single hung) in the window 4 (slider) location. When I brought this to the technicians' attention, they were very professional about correcting, and thankful that I told them while they were working on window 5 rather than after completion. -While removing old window 5, there was a break of the old window, causing glass outside. Would not have been a concern if cleanup had been more thorough. -Install of the 9 windows went from 7 am to about 6-7pm. By the time they were completing, the technicians were tired, and the sun was going down. The next day I found shards of glass next to where I park my car (from old window 5), bits of window and packaging debris around the house, and shards of glass outside window number 5. I also found a piece of glass inside our back porch that appeared to have been carried in by a work boot (we have cats and dog that spend time out there). -During inspection, my husband noticed that window 6 was missing the stoppers that keep the window from coming out of the channel when raised. -Post inspection visit to cover screws, etc. was scheduled 4 - 6 on a Friday. Technician did not show and there was no call. They did come the following Tuesday on our schedule (evening), but my husband had left work early to meet them on the original day. As the technician was completing each room, I would follow to verify. I noticed as they completed the master bedroom that the window above the bed was not done and cover strips were still laying in the window. The technician completed window 1 and was about to leave when I stopped him to have the window in the bedroom completed. He was professional about completing this window with no expression of frustration. read more

*UPDATE* This April (2021) they came out and replaced all of our single pane windows--last time they were here they replaced our sliding glass door. The installation crew was amazing. They took their time and paid attention to detail. They also did a fantastic job of vacuuming everything up afterwards. I highly recommend this company. Last year (2020) we got quotes from three different companies to replace our sliding glass door and all of the windows in our home. We chose Baxter Windows and Doors because of their professionalism and also their prices were fair and reasonable. I had great experiences with every person I interacted with at Baxter, from the sales rep who came out to give us a quote, to the office staff, to the guys who did the installation. The installation crew came out on a blistering hot day, and they did an amazing job installing a high quality sliding glass door!! They were incredibly considerate in the clean up as well and left our home cleaner than they found it. We can't wait to have them come back and replace the rest of our windows. So glad we found this fantastic company and we would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. They know their stuff and we also liked that they are local and family owned. We preface this review that our experience with installers and techs was great and the new windows and door look nice. After confirming all the window configurations, we did not hear back for 8 weeks. We were told that the windows would have around a 6-week lead time and they would call to schedule installation. We had to reach out to get updates and schedule an installation. We were told that it would take a full day to do the installation and took the day off. After waiting part of the morning and not hearing from anyone, we called the office to find out the appointment had been cancelled. No one called to let us know that this happened. After the installation was completed, we were told that the siding for the door wasn't installed and it would be installed at a later date. We asked if they also could touch up the caulk that washed away with the rain. We were told they would do both. When the technician came out, we mentioned the touch up for the caulk and he said he was never told by the office to do that. When we brought this up to the office later, they shifted the blame to the tech, claiming he did not look at the work order. The inspector quickly checked the stickers before approving the work. Afterwards, we decided to inspect everything ourselves. We found a missing screw in one of the windows. We sent pictures and contacted the office. Without checking the installation diagrams, we were told this was correct and it had passed inspection; the same person who claimed later they have trouble remembering what they did yesterday. When we mentioned what the inspector actually did, he proudly claimed they usually move quick through inspections from companies like his. We eventually also noticed a broken cover plate. The office helped order a new part and said they would call to set up an appointment. Not so surprising, we didn't hear back from them for almost 4 weeks. We had to reach out again to be told the part arrived and schedule for replacement and address the screw and hole plug concern. The office said it would all be done together. When the techs came, they only had the replacement cover plate. The techs said they were never told to bring anything else. Only after calling and complaining again did they agree to send out techs to fix the other problems. The office also finally reviewed the installation instructions for the picture window which said it needed 4 screws. When we again pointed out it was missing a screw, the only response we got was it had passed inspection. During this process, we started to have doubts about the windows. We contacted the office and they explained the stickers and mentioned that knocking on glass is one of the easier ways to know if they are three pane glass. We had paid for three pane windows for the peace of mind with the recent storms. One of the windows we checked didn't sound like the rest. We called the office to figure out what had happened. Initially they blamed us for wanting both tint and triple pane glass; they said they couldn't make windows of this size and shape with both options which was never mentioned during the initial quote. We were confused why didn't they just reach out to us when they saw this problem. Only after building the window again in software did we find out that no manufacturer could build a window that large with three pane glass. Keep in mind, we were charged for the triple pane glass even though they ordered a window without it. They never contacted us to refund the money. They only issued a refund after we contacted them about this problem. From our experience, Baxter does not respect your time. From the initial quote to the last problem fixed, it has taken 20 weeks to be done. This is with constant emails and phone calls to get updates. Our only positive experience has been working with their techs/installation team. We were initially sold on the positive reviews we saw but did not have the same experience others have had. read more

Just had the most horrible experience with Nathan regarding doors for our client, who is currently out of state. I have been a designer for more than 20 years now, and rarely run into issues like this. He was incredibly rude, condescending, would not listen to what we had to say, or our questions. We have carte blanche on sizing, and wanted his expert advice on what the best options would be for our clients (as we are not window experts). We wanted to collaborate to find a perfect solution for our clients. He repeatedly said he would want to meet with the client (even after being told they are out of state and we are the client's in this situation as their representatives) and he was more worried about having to provide multiple quotes than to find a great solution for our clients. I cannot recommend this company nor would I to anyone ever. His email replies to my staff were curt and disorganized. His tone was rude. I decided to call and discuss, as things can get lost in translation in emails, but he was even worse on the phone. Things like "this is why I don't like working with designers" and "I'll just give you what you've drawn" were my replies after asking him multiple times for ideas and trying to brainstorm a good solution. He talked down to me and talked over me, like my ideas and concerns were not valid. I finally decided we would find another company to work with, as if this is my experience now before we even ordered or quoted a thing, I can only imagine how horrible of an experience we would have during the renovation. In 2021, we should be past looking down on female designers and treat us with respect. There was none coming from him and only patronizing arrogance. If you want to work with a mysogonistic jerk, call Nathan. He's your man. If you are a man, I am sure you will have a better experience than we did. I am absolutely disgusted by our treatment. read more

We recently renovated our house and went with Baxter Windows and Doors after it was recommended to us by a friend. Although we were uncertain of what to go with in our renovation, they guided us and showed us a style of closet doors and window frames that we ended up being very happy with. From beginning to end, excellent service. They know their products, explained all the different products in details, responded all questions. They were always responsive, they have quality staff, that worked with me on my schedule, from measuring each window to make sure the order was properly made, also worked on having the permit properly submitted. I had an amazing experience with Baxter Windows and Doors. My new windows look great and were significantly less expensive than a quote I received from a big box store for the exact same windows!
