Dr. Nguyen provided a comprehensive physical body functioning exam and a total-body approach treatment plan. He noticed all the little things; from how I walked into his office, my posture and carried that precise mechanical detail into his functional exam. When asked to do basic turns and bends, I did not even realize I was overcompensating with other areas of my body. His extensive knowledge of the kinetic connected chain opened my eyes to the big picture of my entire body. Through his recommendations for advanced diagnostics, he has helped me connect with other providers for long-term care alongside my chiropractic treatments. His clinical expertise with intricate joint alignments, including the knees and spine--especially regarding highly precise neck and lower back adjustments--is bar none. He is incredibly mindful of my comfort levels with certain delicate alignments, and I feel physical relief from chronic spine issues and pain. The adjustments have helped improve my symptoms and mobility, complementing my other treatments perfectly. The level of communication, compassion, reports and care coordination is unmatched. He checks in, sends helpful reminders, and shares and shares the goals we all want to improve our joint function and movement for a better quality of life. Dr. Nguyen is truly one of a kind!!

Pilates: I love attending the reformer classes, particularly Alba's and Jessica's, but I've attended most if not all of the instructors' classes and they've all been great. The weekend classes do get kind of quick so it's better to book in advance. Gym: Clean, never packed (at least when I go). I always find space to stretch with no issue and have never had to wait for what I need. People put their weights back. There are spray bottles and cloths to wipe what you use after. The bathrooms are clean, and the red light sauna is a treat (honestly my deciding factor for adding the membership lol). I've yet to use the cold plunge or the showers. You get $10 off when you have more than 1 membership. I had a billing issue in the beginning and they were very responsive and helpful. All together I pay $164/mo for both. The lack of a parking lot is a mild inconvenience, but street parking is hardly an issue with all the residential streets with free parking around Park. Great gym!!

It was an…read moreold injury, he helped me to recover fast, and he sent me to a Chiropractor in Oakland for adjusting the loose knee, since this is not his speciality. Because I worked in SF finance district, I found a person who does chiropractic and acupuncture. I keep going nowadays every year. He's the only doctor I trusted because he was so good. However, 6 months ago, because of work stress, and led to be fired. My nerve system was completely messed up. I didn't recognize how much the stress damaged my body. Every night I slept in pain, woke up with tensed body and sore and painful muscles. I went to see the person in SF a few times, and I couldn't believe it didn't work after lots of treatment because it has been working with me for the past 10 years for my knee, shoulder, and hip pains. A few days ago, I realized it's the stress that completely messed up my nerve system. And I need to find someone to help me relieve my nerve system. Because of the realization, I thought about Kevin immediately and booked an appointment with him. I went in today, and he wrote down the notes for the pains I had, and he wrote down his plan with a few hand movements in the air to see which part of my body should be treated first. Patiently, he gave me treatment, and after each one, I walked outside his clinic, and I could tell my turns got faster and the pace got bigger. One of the major pains is in my left leg, left hip, one of the gentle adjustments he made, after 1 s, I stood there see my body turning 7 times on the left naturally without any pull from anybody. Finally, that side got relieved, my hip rotated back to where it was supposed to be. The back of my knee was swollen with a big ball. The acupuncture didn't take it away completely. Kevin told me that the front muscle was rotated outward. He made a few adjustments, and when I put my leg down from the stool, I felt like someone was pulling my leg down with a soft landing, and I could feel and see myself standing like a normal person without leaning to the left. Neck and shoulder were the biggest pain I had, and Kevin started with that area as the 1st treat. Immediately, my shoulder went down, headache was removed. If you like me being stressed. Try it out here. It's worthy you time, and it really heals.

Dr. Tang is a gem in Oakland Chinatown - he's the latest in a long line of traumatologists (in…read moreCantonese "Tiet-Dah") who learned how to treat injuries from his father, who learned it from his father, back a couple of generations! Turns out his dad has his own clinic a few doors down! Simon trained in Hong Kong, lived here for a couple decades and thus speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, and English pretty fluently. He is great at what he does and charges reasonably for what he can accomplish. Today's visit for my chronic neck injuries lasted about 30-40 minutes (I didn't keep track of time but it was less than an hour) and involved some history taking, examination, education on specific exercises I could do for wrist and shoulder injuries, then a focused deep tissue massage, and application of a heated herbal poultice. Dr. Tang has a great bedside manner and is focused (he massages each tenderpoint for 1-3 minutes, on a timer). All this for $80. He's much better than the Tiet-Da doctors I went to in Hong Kong. In general, daily treatment for acute injuries can get you better within a few treatments (depending on severity) and longstanding chronic injuries typically resolve with daily treatment for about three weeks. I've had some promising results, I will be back tomorrow!

It was more of a vigorous deep tissue massage that was focused on the area of pain and stretching and lasted maybe 15 minutes. He then applied a poultice. There was only one pot on his stove, and he didn't do any traditional tongue or pulse diagnosis, which tells me it's something he "prescribes" for everyone with pain. I did not get any pain relief from the treatment. I am disappointed because I wanted and expected Traditional Chinese medicine but got some other kind of hybrid treatment. Maybe it works for some, but, unlike what I love about Chinese medicine, and like what I don't love about western medicine, it seemed too limited and impersonal for me. However, Mr. Tang himself is very nice.

After doing a hip hop dance class (on concrete with LOTS of jumping in crappy shoes with no arch support), I came to her on crutches with severe foot pain, which she diagnosed as plantar fasciitis. She took some samples, tested the bejeezus out of it but we couldn't figure it out. She had me try an at home treatment and after 6 months I decided to go back in since the home treatment didn't help. The next step (which was a big one for me) was removing the nail. Well, she did a damn fine job. I felt nothing and the toe nail healed up perfectly. Fast forward a year and it feels like an ingrown is happening. I head back in, she takes a look, agrees, and I walk out 15 min later with a small bandage over the toe. Three weeks later and it's totally healed. No more pain, looks fantastic. Dr Strauser has been so helpful and super responsive. She hands out a number to call / text if anything goes wrong after a procedure and has a great sense of humor to boot.
