My experience with Dr. Reed Coast and the staff in the San Rafael office has been uniformly excellent. I'm puzzled by the other reviews. I went to M.D Monara in June 2022 for a left foot bunionectomy and I came out a cripple who cannot walk without pain. The CT scan read by another Foot and Ankle surgeon showed that M.D. Monara left me with "screw penetration through first metatarsal head with impingement of sesamoid bones. Plantar displacement of first metatarsal osteotomy". Monara Dini left me in so much severe pain of left foot, toe and pain that radiates up my left foot even today, as I write this. The worst injury that M.D.Monara Dini caused is the "deformity, a cock up deformity" the CT scan read. My big toe is so short and deformed I will never be able to put my left foot or my big toe on the floor. I now walk on the side of my left foot. Google it. I wouldn't let her anywhere near my feet. She sounded and looked so confident yet my foot is ruined for life. read more

There is a reason it is easy to get an appointment. The reason for this is because it's a terrible clinic. The doctor said the only fix for my issue was inserts and drugs. I asked for exercises but she said nothing can be done. After getting a second opinion this totally false. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff handling my cray was super rude and made you feel like you were in their way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I bought the insert they required. I fell apart offer I took my shoe off when I got home. I asked to get an exchange for which they wanted to charge me a full new appointment, this is much more than the insert costs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were also incredibly rude about my issue.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called multiple times to resolve the issue. My wife, still in considerable pain from her experience there, just completed the procedure with another provider, who satisfactorily removed three corns for $145--not, as with Bay Area Foot Care, one for $250. Excellent, empathetic care from podiatrists as well as staff. I've received care from Drs Coast,, Lee and Svidler and all three were professional, competent. and caring. This was all at the Terra LInda office. An absolutely dreadful experience, stay away from this medical practice. I agree with the bad reviews given here by Michele H and John V. The office which I visited, Bernal Heights in San Francisco, (because the doctor wasn't in his Terra Linda office the day I needed an appointment) was noisy, dirty and disorganized. The doctor ordered a test and told me it would take a week to get the result back from the lab. After two weeks when I had not heard back from them I called and was told that the results were back and that the doctor would call me. SIX WEEKS LATER when I had heard nothing from him, I called the office again and was once again given the run-around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My complaint regarding the delay made to the office manager was met with indifference and deflection rather than the appropriate apology and action... I asked why the doctor hadn't contacted me as promised I was offered only excuses and was told that the test results had been viewed by the doctor a few weeks before but that nobody had bothered to inform me of the results and the blame was put on the office staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When the doctor did finally call me, 8 WEEKS AFTER MY INITIAL APPOINTMENT, to discuss the test results, he blamed 'the office staff'. He offered no refund or any type of compensation for the poor service. Then, despite the fact that I had paid upfront for my appointment and test I began getting bills from the practice. I called and pointed-out that I had paid in advance and was told that it would be noted on my file. It was not and I continued to get bills in the mail and by e-mail. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called last week and asked for my test results to be e-mailed to me and the doctor's assistant said he would send them. When I had not received them by today I called again to ask why I had not received the results in my e-mail inbox.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is the most incompetent, disorganized and amateurish medical practice that I have ever been to, it's a disgrace... My last foot care visit was with Dr. Woolee. She gave me excellent attention and even noticed the beginning of a corn which wasn't the reason I visited. She took care of both issues painlessly. I don't often leave a review but felt compelled to after reading the review left by Michelle H. My experience with Bay Area Foot Care was excellent. It was an easy procedure for an ingrown toenail. What caught my eye when I read her review was her comments about the "middle age white woman with grey hair". My experience with the check in was nothing but professional and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had some questions about my insurance and she answered all my questions and explained fully what to expect. Excellent communication and customer service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But what really made a lasting impression was after my procedure while I was getting ready to leave I noticed a very old lady that seemed confused as to where she had parked her car. The "middle age white woman with grey hair" got up from her desk and held her hand and lead her downstairs to her car helped her get situated. It has taken me a bit to write this review, but the public needs to be warned. They don't care about health, they only care about MONEY. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have NEVER walked out of a Dr.'s appointment before but the front desk coordinator made me feel so uncomfortable that I had to go![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was referred by an emergency clinic Dr. to have an x-ray reviewed. I followed the steps online, made an appointment which included uploading my insurance information. I will mention that I pay for an expensive PPO because of health issues and can go anywhere. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I arrived at check in, all seemed normal except they made me submit my insurance again even though they already had it on file.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I get back into an exam room and can hear the front desk talking about me in a kinda mean girl tone, " OH she has covered California" and saying something about out of network blah blah.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She comes into the room with a clipboard and says I'm out of network and that I needed to sign something with pricing on it. Out of network on my plan just means I will pay a little more and I didn't care, but she insisted I sign the price sheet. What kind of foot Dr. has a damn price list for services ready to go? Had she never brought that in I would never even have known the prices and just paid the bill when it arrived in the mail. I told her that this was a very weird interaction and she was making me feel super uncomfortable and I'm just here to review. an xray so it would just be an office visit fee, right? She said "Well our Dr. is SUPER credentialed so it might cost more" but she could tell me exactly what it would cost" but wanted me to sign a price list? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Her attitude suggested I was poor or couldn't afford it even though I was dressed up nice for work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Never in my life have I experienced this level of weird vibes at a Dr.'s office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I left and went to CA orthopedics which took another couple of weeks to get an appointment but SO glad I left because turns out my foot was broken and have been in the best care ever since! If the business is reading this, it is your job is to CARE for people who are injured and need help not haggle over prices and make people feel incapable of paying bills before they are even seen! I made an appointment as a new patient. When I arrived for my appointment the door was locked. I called the office from outside the door only to be told "someone should have called to let you know that the doctor is not working today". HOW UNPROFESSIONAL IS THAT!!!! I was furious. I went to this office as a last resort, after trying for months to get rid of a painful corn. When I left the office after paying $90 for a 5 minute visit, I had really hoped that the problem was finally resolved. However, 2-3 weeks later the toe still hurt and wishful thinking could not relieve the pain. When I finally, reluctantly called the office and tried to express my frustration, the receptionist rudely interrupted me by asking my date of birth and name. When she located my "file" she said that I could come in and see another podiastrist but that they would charge me again to which I responded thanks, but no thanks. There was never a mention of "I'm sorry you're still in pain.." just show me the money. Is this what they call customer service today? read more

I located Dr. Ramirez via my Aetna Insurance, understanding his services were covered by Aetna.  He is located in San Rafael, CA. The visit went well and my foot is somewhat better. .. time will tell. From him I purchased an arch support for $60 and am using it. Almost immediately I began hearing from Bay Area Foot Care, a network he belongs to consisting of 25 different smiling podiatrists. I now received an email saying to "View And Pay Your Balance OnLine"  Attempting to opt out of these emails, all the system did was try to get more information from me in their Patient Portal, with NO WAY OUT.  I don't want harassing emails.  If I have an outstanding balance which I suspect I do not, mail me a bill. Dr. Ramirez would have done far better if like my veterinarian, CALLED me and said "How is your foot doing? (Like How is your dog doing?) In the marketing world which I come from that's called Building A Practice. I will call his office when he opens in two days to find out if I have an outstanding balance, which I should not, and request a bill MAILED to me, in writing. I NEVER want to hear from Dr. Ramirez patient portal again.  They're a pain in the ass, a hustle which leaves no opt out area.  His email service is based in Watertown Massachusetts and I live in Marin County CA, THREE THOUSAND AND EIGHTY EIGHT miles away! IF you should encounter Dr. Ramirez, NEVER give him your email address unless you want to be harassed incessantly. Although he did a reasonably good job, with NO follow up, due to the harassing scam like email DO NOT go there. read more

Was referred here by my primary care doc, and saw Dr. Cheng. He was so professional, friendly, and skilled. He talked me through my treatment options and respected my preferences. It was easy to get an appointment and my appointments always started on time. Would absolutely recommend this practice. read more
