I never thought I needed someone to help me organize my home but I'm a senior and tasks I use to be able to tackle became overwhelming for me. Kiera has some genuinely good ideas for organizing and can be helpful, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed and need someone to take charge. However, it's very much her way or the highway. If you have a specific area you want help with and only a limited number of hours left, she doesn't let you decide where to focus -- she chooses what she wants to work on, regardless of your priorities. We also had a session using "donated" hours that were generously gifted to us by one of her previous clients. Unfortunately, the first scheduled appointment had to be rescheduled because she was sick (understandable), but the second time -- after we arranged childcare, changed work schedules, and made everything work on our end -- she canceled because she was too tired to drive. That felt super unprofessional and was a huge inconvenience. Scheduling in general was frustrating. Most sessions had to revolve around her availability, not ours. While we made it work, it's not what you'd expect when paying a high rate for a service. Kiera is very direct and can come across as controlling. Communication wasn't her strong suit in our experience, and some of her suggestions didn't feel appropriate or helpful for our situation. I also agree with another reviewer who mentioned that she tends to leave large piles and says they'll be taken care of before an event, but then doesn't follow through -- that happened to us as well. That said, I do think Kiera could be a great fit for people dealing with extreme clutter or hoarding, where a firm and take-charge approach is needed. But for more tailored or collaborative organizing help, or if flexibility and professionalism are important to you, she may not be the right fit. Also very demanding and in appropriate comments were made on a few occasion's. She's also very expensive compared to other organizers. Take your money elsewhere. read more

After downsizing from a large home to a small condo several years ago, my small space was beginning to feel disorganized. Kiera came in and together we went through all the closets, drawers, and cabinets. She helped me maximize the small space in a way that is easy to keep up. She does not simply play "Tetris" with all your things. She thinks through systems of organization so it is easy to store and find things in the future. Before she came, I thought I was completely out of storage space and was feeling overwhelmed. When she left, I even had some empty drawers and shelves for future use. Keira has very clear ideas about how things should be done, and her ideas make a lot of sense. Kiera is very good at getting belongings processed and purged quickly. If you want someone to take charge of your home and control the process, start to finish, she is a great choice. I don't want my review to be taken as saying that she has no helpful skills for organizing. However, all of my time working with Kiera was very difficult. She looks at organization as a process with only one correct method, and anytime she was in my home she was in a hurry to achieve it. She was difficult to communicate with when I did not understand her plans or goals, or when my needs did not fit into her plans and ways of doing things. The only way I could get her to listen when I needed her to do something differently, or when her plan for how to organize or where to put something did not fit my needs, was to repeat myself and argue with her until one or both of us was upset. She would not slow down and discuss things unless I pushed pretty hard. She was also rude when she didn't like something, for example once calling my sister a hoarder, and then trying to pass it off as a joke. My recommendation is that if you know what you want, and expect to be a partner in planning the process of organization, you should look elsewhere. If you want to be able to say no or stop, and have your organizer do so until you have come to an agreement, you should look elsewhere. Kiera frequently continued what she was doing and repeated her generic explanations of her process when I asked her to stop. When I set boundaries she would tell me that I was not following/honoring the process. I will admit that I have very strong opinions about my home. I also know that Kiera has many glowing reviews, so it seems that her style works much better for some people than it did for me. Some of our problems probably came down to our different personalities and communication styles. However, she requires her clients to sign a contract and pay in full up front, with no refunds. She made it sound like her clients quit relatively frequently, saying that "the ones who quit usually do it by the third session." I think those are probably the people who don't click with her style and personality. If I had not paid up front for her largest package, I would have found someone else after a day or two. In the end I couldn't handle working with her anymore, and never scheduled the last day I had paid for. We were maybe halfway through the work, and I had to hire someone else to help me finish and undo many things Kiera had done despite my objections. When we initially discussed her pay-up-front package system, Kiera explained that she is running a small business to support herself and her children, and cannot sustain it when people back out at the last minute. I was and am sympathetic to that challenge. However, it would be much more professional to allow potential clients to work with her for a day or two before committing to a package, especially since she knows that her "process" is not for everyone. I am writing this review because I want others to know what they are getting into - I think some people would work very well with Kiera, although I was not one of them. She would be very helpful for a client who needed to clear out a parent's home, and who wanted their organizer to control every aspect of the process to get it done as quickly as possible, for example. But I hope that anyone considering working with Kiera will think carefully about their needs and goals before purchasing a package. read more

Not only does every living space feel and look dramatically better after our sessions, but she teaches tools to help with maintenance. (Attack small tasks first, don't keep tables that don't serve a purpose except to collect things you're too lazy to put away.) I agree with both the "one star" and the "five star" reviews for Kiera. Five stars: Kiera is gifted at organizing and she really loves it. Her energy is astonishing and the speed at which she works remarkable. I bow to her for accomplishing all that she did, particularly in my very scary basement. I could never have organized it without her (without blowing the garage up and starting from the ashes). What she helped accomplish changed my sense of "being" related to my very, very large basement. I actually can park my car in my garage--where previously, junk was piled to the heavens and I could not even walk. Kiera understands the psychology of disorganization, understands that for some of us, it's not just about the mess. I have ADD and Kiera knew its attendant "issues" and helped me work through them during the process--a huge help! Kiera is committed to recycling/reuse/and giving to the homeless. A good percentage of my stuff was given to those who could use it (homeless camps, school teachers, etc.) and for that I am very grateful. Kiera has a very warm, caring, engaged side. She remembers personal stories I shared, recalled my dogs names after almost a year, was empathetic to and knowledgeable of how "things" become extensions of ourselves and how letting go can be empowering. Now, the "one star". Kiera can be very controlling and did things that I explicitly (over and over) asked her NOT to do. She kept saying that it was part of her "system" and that I did not understand. She tossed things I wanted to keep, often without my knowledge. Kiera arranged things in ways that I had to re-arrange after she left--though I had asked her not to arrange those areas. She left boxes of books in my living room two days before Thanksgiving (when I was to host 20 for dinner) when I'd told her that, if nothing else happened that day, the books MUST be out before T-Day. She helped me purge my jewelry of things I no longer wanted, but didn't suggest consigning them--which I later greatly regretted. A few things were broken (small things), but she never apologized for it. (Kiera does not apologize or show contrition.) Etc. I had purchased the 10 day package and only used 3 or 4 days of it before I was totally freaked out by the negative experience--so much so that I consulted an attorney and had gone to court to file in small claims to get my $$ back. Because the court date would have been 5 or 6 months in the future (backlog!) and because my attorney said I'd probably win but then I'd have to collect from Kiera, which would probably not be easy and because my "use it or lose it" time with Kiera was about to expire, I very reluctantly called Kiera back to finish the job. I do think Kiera listened to many of my complaints. We re-established a warm working relationship (thank the gods), and Kiera's miracle work got completed. I am happy and relieved. When it works with Kiera, she is a miracle worker. Just know that she has VERY firm ideas, make sure you're clear about what gets tossed/not tossed, don't buy the big packages until you experience a few days with Keira. I understand why Kiera receives so many five stars; she is fantastic at what she does. I also get the one stars, as I experienced both. In the end, Kiera really did do an amazing job--which would have been absolutely impossible without her. I am grateful. read more

I've recently hired her to help me promote and organize the grand opening of my photography studio, and she has been quite the blessing! She is a sweetheart from the south with so many life stories and life experiences. Kiera always responds quickly to every inquiry, and answers every question in helpful detail. There is so much to say- and all of it positive! Kiera is one of the most disarming people I've met in a very long time. My husband doesn't like people he doesn't know in the house, especially in private areas like the bedroom. I thought for sure he'd throw her out when I first hired her! But her personality and sensitivity to clients like this was a winning combination to get a big job done! What's this? Kiera is getting hate reviews? How can this be? Kiera Rain is the sweetest person you could imagine. She has this wonderful personality that completely disarms your fears about your mess. (Go ahead, tell me that you aren't just a little freaked out about the mess you don't want other to see. I don't believe you.) I have tried and tried to put everything away all the time. But I keep ending up with more stuff that doesn't have a home. And then my home gets so cluttered I'm embarrassed. Kiera is fantastic about coming in and helping me find homes for the stuff I really want to keep and sorting out the stuff that I don't care about. She's been wonderful about not allowing me to feel bad in the process. In fact, I found the whole process very liberating. She's given me great ideas to keep things tidy as I go from here. Not only do I have a better working and living environment, but I'm not ashamed to have other people in the house anymore. Although Kiera has this giant heart and is able to help her clients sort through their stuff and reclaim their space, she's also a very good business woman. She understands her own value as well as the value of her clients. I suspect that's the problem she's having with the haters. They don't respect her or recognize that she's running a business. This is how she pays her bills and feeds her family. Everyone that I know expects to be paid for the work they do. Most of them have a job and get a paycheck. Keira is obviously in the midst of a personal crisis that is seriously impacting her business. She walked off the job site two hours early at my house, and then attempted to put through several unauthorized charges on my credit card. I attempted to settle with her amicably, but we both became concerned when we found her communications to be insulting and bizarre. I had worked with her last year, and noted the abrupt change in her professionalism. At that time, I found her to be bossy and absurdly expensive, but not seriously unethical.
