We had Lori and her crew out to de-clutter our garage. I consider myself to be a fairly good organizer. When my sister hired Lori a year ago I witnessed the miracle transformation of her house and my sister urged me to contact Lori to help organize our house and all of the stuff that accumulates when you have a new baby. I resisted saying that first I would go through all of my junk myself and then call Lori to help me come up with a good organization system. 2 years later after never going through any of our things and creating no visible organization system I was in a complete panic, because I was facing an international move on my own and had no idea of where to start. I was sure of two things: 1. I had no idea where to start on this daunting task and 2. I absolutely was not moving with all of the extra stuff and junk, because I didn't want to recreate the disorder in our next house. Enter Lori! Lori and I consulted on the phone (basically me pathetically begging for guidance) and it's not an exaggeration that after 1 call with her I felt 100% better and like I was in good hands. Lori had a recommendation for a moving company who could handle the international move and she set out a plan for us to meet a couple of times where we would tackle the major problem areas in my home. On our first meeting I was so embarrassed to show her all of the junk and mess, but she never passed any judgement or even hesitated to dive right in. She had a clear plan of how to manage each space, came up with a system so that on the move day things would be in places that made sense, and knew exactly what to do with all of the random stuff (an 8 year old Italian laptop with no power cord?!). She gave me a few manageable tasks but for the most part everything got done in 5-6 hour chunks. Each time Lori left I was amazed by how something that had seemed so overwhelming and unmanageable had been totally managed and it was fairly painless! Lori kept us on task but checked to make sure I was feeling ok and whether I needed breaks. She made the time fly by! When the moving day came I was totally organized-- our movers commented many times how easy the job was because everything was orderly, clearly marked, and labeled. In addition to our scheduled time Lori emailed me with questions to follow up on with the moving company, ideas she had for me, offers to put me in touch with different service providers (electrician, hauler, furnished housing), and just generally to check in with me about the process and how I was feeling. My only regrets are that I didn't hire Lori to help me earlier (my house would have been so much more comfortable and functional if I had!!) and that we are moving away from Lori. My husband was so impressed by everything she did that he suggested we fly her to The Netherlands to help us move into our new house! Some people balked that an organizer seems extravagant, but I assure you that hiring Lori is the smartest thing you can do! HELP! 25 years of accumulation. Our garage was a nightmare with stuff everywhere. Unused exercise equipment, kids sports equipment, boxes of paper for everything under the sun. Incredible! Lori revolutionized my home. Working with her is honestly one of the best things I've done in years! Our home hadn't had a major clean-out since before my first was born six years ago. The office and the garage had become MAJOR dumping grounds for everything we either didn't know what to do with or didn't want any more but didn't know how to get rid of. Both spaces had ceased to be functional and, more damaging, their chaotic energy seemed to be infecting the rest of our home. We started with the office. Far from gasping, Lori calmly surveyed the situation--and then got started! Just like that!!
