I literally felt like a prop. I was barely acknowledged unless a direction was being given (of course when I complained to the office manager, she told me that he doesn't remember that, which why would he admit to it anyway, the dental assistant was literally half his age). AND, it's only been a few months and that tooth is more symptomatic than it was before he put the crown in and it feels like I'm going to rip it off my tooth when I floss. Now I have to go pay several hundred dollars more to have another dentist fix my crown Additionally, I received a couple cleanings there, one of my hygienists was absolutely lovely but I've just learned that she no longer works there (happy for her!), the other one assured me that getting a cleaning every 3 months would be covered by my insurance, even double checked with the front desk and brought me an printout to prove that it would be covered. Well it wasn't. So I was stuck with an over $100 balance even after my copay than they threatened to send to collections. I deeply regret ever stepping foot into this practice. I paid them a f**k load of money only to be worse off than I was before.

They refuse to accept the fees they are contracted in. network for! My explanation of benefits stated that I was only supposed to pay $30 and they charged me $140. When I asked about where the difference in that money is they said they applied it as a credit towards future services. Who authorized them to do that ? That should've been sent to me in a refund, I had not been there for six months and they were withholding that money from me, unbeknownst to me until I saw the EOB! That refused to refund me and applied it towards another bill that they never sent to my dental insurance without my knowledge. They keep billing me for $600 that I don't owe, emailing me and calling. They owe me money! My dental insurance has yet to see the claim two years later! I have spoken to their office staff numerous times and every time I'm told the claim was submitted and it has not been. T They think I am stupid but I worked for a dental insurance company in the claims dept for years! I should have known better and kick myself! I should have walked out when they came in asking me for my payment while in the chair with my mouth being worked on, but it was an emergency during the pandemic and I am kicking myself , believe me. They keep purposely not sending the claim in because they know they are contracted to accept in network fees and they don't want to. They trick people! Check your EOB's people. They are scammers and frauds. The dentist also told me he was just going to file my crown to see if it helped my pain and he filed my entire too and bottom back teeth and ruined my crown, my healthy teeth are now smooth with no bite texture at all which affects my chewing. All of the dental records (x-rays, charts) are stored digitally by computer. Above the dental chair is a flat panel monitor which shows your chart, xrays, and digital images of your teeth and gums. Previously, I couldn't see the back of my mouth at my former dentists. Cool fish screensaver on the monitor!! All of the nerves instantly went away when his receptionist Julie greeted me upon arrival, she's always smiling and super friendly. She answered my insurance questions and introduced me to Dr. Nesvold. He (along with his dental assistant Kathy) spent about an hour with me the first appointment and we agreed to do a thorough cleaning at a later date. That appointment went smoothly and they took extra special care knowing I'm incredibly sensitive to pain (I'm a bit of a baby). He referred me to an oral surgeon in the area (Dr. De Tolla in Portsmouth- also fantastic) for wisdom teeth removal. I didn't meet his hygienist, Cheryl, until a few visits later but she's just as friendly and helpful as everyone else there! I've now been going there for several years and I can't say enough good things. I've now converted a sister and my boyfriend over to the office and plan to keep recommending Atlantic Family Dental to friends and family.

I had an emergency on a Friday night (as my front tooth decided to leave), and of course, during after hours. I left a message on the Doctor Vitali's emergency number, but told him not to hurry in, as the emergency was mine, without pain or blood, and wanted him home with his family. Sure enough his Office Manager, Leanne, phoned me first thing Monday morning and scheduled me in that afternoon for a consult. After the consult it was decided that a bridge was needed as both front teeth were in turmoil. This was shocking to hear, but I have faith in this man, from past experiences; yes, was a bit frightened, Both teeth were removed on Holy Thursday and the Monday after Easter, I had a bridge with beautiful teeth. PAINLESS and secure. It had been a long time to eat something with such comfort and normalcy. I forgot what that was like and so very thrilled beyond understanding how he made this happen, but it is truthful. I am so happy., Dr. Bondar's staff has to be commended also, just has to be. Leanne works her magic with running the office and accommodating their patients with regular appointments and those with emergence. I always feel comfortable and safe with Dr.Harrison, and I don't typically feel that way with Dentists. The staff is also phenomenal. Megan and Jess, who run the office, and super friendly and accommodating. They always try to work me in the schedule when there is an emergency. They text back and forth which is convenient for me. I get auto-reminders before and the day of the appointments. It's a great experience and these two are a big reason why. Susie, Becky, and Kim and three of the dental hygienists that I've worked with over the past few years. They also contribute to this special culture here. No time is wasted in my appointments because these 3 are always on their game. I know there are other hygienists and I can guarantee if they work in this office, they are good at what they do.
