I see Shannon for tooth cleaning, and Dr. Lamoth for tooth fixing. I've often felt you can judge a dentist by the hygenist, and that is certainly true here. Shannon is AWESOME. I have had other tooth cleaners absolutely shred my gums in the process, but Shannon is always so gentle and manages to clear the crap off my teeth without making me bleed. She has a really great personality and is fun to talk to. Also, she has the CUTEST dogs. OMG! I also totally heart Dr. Lamoth and his assistant Patty. I'm a basket case in the dentist chair, totally freaked out about pain. He never hurts! and administers novacaine with minimal discomfort. Patty is his right hand man, and is great to deal with. Both of them have terrific senses of humor, and I always spend way more time laughing than worrying. Deb is the red haired check-out lady and she's always really friendly and helpful. She's very knowledgeable about dealing with insurance, which I totally appreciate. The other front desk/administrative staff I've dealt with have also been really friendly. Finally, the office it's self is really beautiful. Cheerful colors and white beadboard cabinets give it a laid back, beachy feel. I like how homey it is, rather than cold and clinical like so many professional offices. What led me to choose PDS initially is they don't do any mercury fillings. I realize this is a controversial topic, but personally I prefer to avoid the stuff and am glad I never have to argue about it. What has kept me as a patient is the awesome, good humored staff and their gentle work. The ONLY thing I don't like about this place is their logo. Sorry, my first career was as a graphic/web designer and clip-art logos rub me the wrong way. Otherwise, these guys can do no wrong!

I've been a grinder for years (unbeknownst to me) until recently when my partner heard me grinding away at night. Dr. Santana had also recommended a nighttime mouth guard in previous visits to protect against further wear and degradation. Reluctantly and with skepticism, I agreed to get fitted and start wearing the guard at night. It's been a year that I've been [mostly] wearing a mouth guard at night. I've noticed less tension and pressure in my jaw, I clench my teeth less during my waking hours, and I get a more restful slumber. Thank you, Dr. Santana and Crew! Only 4 stars here because I agree with the other reviews on the oral cancer screening. This is not covered by insurance, and took about 30 seconds ($39 out of pocket). Didn't seem necessary based on my personal dental and health history.

The practice was closed for vacation and renovations and I ended up with a horrific infection and tooth broken in half, fever, miserable . He texted right back and sent in a prescription for an antibiotic and saw me the next morning. He X-ray'd my mouth found the problem, called around found an oral surgeon with an emergency appointment and I had the tooth extracted an hour later. Something to note, Dr Amidon was going through a person loss that was happening at the same time yet took the time to see me. The office staff is terrific and accommodating and for someone like me (who doesn't enjoy dental procedures) it helps that they are all so kind and patient. Easy to get to, COV safe and easy parking. They are very caring.
