The lady then said show me your ID and I proudly pulled out my Drivers License from NV that shows I'm a Veteran. She said oh we don't take licenses. I said it shows that I'm a VETERAN right here. She said no I cannot accept this. She said if you have a DAV ID then you can come in. I could have shown my CAC to show that I was a Government contractor but I accepted her rejection like many veterans around the US does. For the first time in my life I finally see what our veterans struggle with just because I wanted a coffee.

I had to walk the "walkway bridge" to get to the station. The elevator was out of service. There was only 1 escalator that went up. So, if you are disabled, you can't get down into the station from the walkway. This place needs a SERIOUS OVERHAUL. Demolish it and start over!! Just like with all of the new build that surrounds this place, and hides how absolute disgusting it is! Seats to wait at, are old. Floors are dirty. Bathroom was ATROCIOUS! Hand dryers are made for little kids, and you will have to bend down low just to use. There was no soap to even use. Only 1 bathroom sink worked. There was about 1 foot left on the toilet paper roll on the stall that I used. Amtrak signs to signify departures/arrival information is up so high, that you can't even see the board fully if you're in the waiting area Also non of the "automated doors" worked. NONE. While spending Fourth of July weekend on a solo adventure in St. Michaels, I decided to drive over to Oxford after hearing it was worth exploring. I found a parking spot, got out of my car and started taking in the waterfront. That's when I realized I had parked directly beside the Oxford terminal of the Oxford-Bellevue Ferry. I hadn't researched the ferry. Honestly...I didn't even know it existed. As I stood there trying to figure out what exactly I was looking at, I noticed a sign advertising a special fireworks cruise that very evening. The ferry would head out onto the water so passengers could watch Oxford's Fourth of July fireworks from the river. The price? Twelve whole dollars. I just stood there staring at the sign thinking..."Wait...THIS is a thing?!" There was only one problem. The ferry was leaving in about two hours. And I didn't have a ticket. And there was no one around. I immediately pulled out my phone to buy a ticket, but online sales had already closed, which made complete sense. I figured I'd missed my chance. While I was standing there wondering what to do next, a gentleman happened to walk by. I asked if he knew anything about the ferry and whether there was any chance I could still get a ticket. As it turns out...he was the captain. Because apparently that's just how my adventures go! He smiled, told me there would probably still be room for walk-on passengers and suggested I come back closer to departure time. Challenge accepted! I set an alarm, spent the next couple of hours wandering around Oxford and made absolutely sure I was back at the terminal when he told me to return. Sure enough...they welcomed me aboard! I happily paid for my ticket and climbed onto the ferry with one thought running through my head. "I cannot believe this is actually happening." What followed was one of the coolest travel experiences I've ever had! Watching fireworks explode over the water from the deck of a ferry was something I didn't even know belonged on my bucket list until I experienced it. The reflections dancing across the river...The darkness surrounding the boat... The fireworks exploding so close that you could actually feel the booms in your chest...It was absolutely magical! I honestly don't know if I spent more time watching the fireworks or grinning from ear to ear. What made the experience even more memorable, though, wasn't just the fireworks. It was the people. The crew didn't have to find room for one random traveler who showed up without a reservation two hours before departure. But they did. Every person I interacted with was welcoming, kind and genuinely happy to help make my evening happen. I don't know if they realized it at the time, but they created one of my favorite memories from my entire Fourth of July weekend. PRO TIP: If you're visiting Oxford, look at the ferry schedule before you arrive. Whether you're taking your vehicle across to Bellevue, walking on as a passenger or getting lucky enough to catch one of their special event cruises, don't make the same mistake I did and discover it by accident. Although...maybe a little bit of serendipity is part of the magic. The next time I'm back in Oxford, riding the Oxford-Bellevue Ferry will already be on my itinerary. Next time, though...I'll actually know it's there!

Rediculous! Take this bus with few problems . . . . but unfortunately those were not the day I'm…read morewriting a review . . . . today is. I was catching the last bus of the evening and got to the stop about 10 minutes ahead of time. Being a Friday I was the only one at the stop and pleasantly surprised to see the bus arriving on time. Unfortunately it blew right by without even pulling into the near lane. (I guess the driver didn't see me . . . . I was the guy waving my arms and a bright yellow backpack in the air like an idiot.) I called dispatch immediately and to their credit they called dispatch and had the bus come back around. I was told the bus was waiting for me 3 blocks back at an earlier stop and to walk there. No problem, figuring it would be turning before my stop to take a more direct route to the stops after mine. NOPE . . . . we went right past my stop. The driver even pulled over to the curb even though there really was no one there this time. (I guess making me walk 3 blocks in the ran was just because the driver thought I needed the exercise.)

I started using Dillon's bus 250 and 260 service about a year and a half ago. The buses are mostly…read moreon time except when traffic is bad. The drivers are good, riders are diverse and professional, and Dillon's has gone out of their way whenever there was a problem. Once I left my phone on the morning bus and Dillon's dispatch asked the driver to give it to the evening driver who gave it to me. Another time our bus was struck by a car (no one was hurt but the car took off - the bus was so big, no one really even noticed onboard until the bus stopped) disabling the bus, and an empty bus came to pick us up in 20 minutes. I prefer taking the commuter bus 1,000 times more than the metro (which is always packed, broken down, bad cell connection, and thieves on every corner). On the bus I always get a seat, do my work on the bus or sleep, and there is never a worry that someone is going to steal my stuff or that I'll lose cell service. There are rules like no talking on the phone except for emergencies, and everyone seems to respect them.
