We stayed here for the first time, 2 nights, in the deluxe cabins. This was our first time in a deluxe cabin with shower and bathroom ( due to winter) We have stayed in other KOAs before. You still need to bring quite a bit of things.. linens, toiletries, more items like coffee cups/ pods, we needed ziplocks bags, and we definitely brought our own wood. Cabin was clean, 3 issues were: left over socks in the bottom bunk, a few mold spots on the shower curtain, and our trash was not taken out prior to arrival. I was impressed by the size, and the grounds. There isn't a lot to do here compared to others properties but plenty of outdoor things to adventure.The beach is in walking distance and you're able to clam with proper permits. Lots of deer near by. Nearest store is in Raymond, about 20-25 min away. Long Beach is about 45 min away. read more

Erica and Brian are amazing people! Their campground is an absolute joy! They make you feel like family!!! The host, Tippy and Dylan are such kind people and are very welcoming as well! There are so many children and adult activities for all ages to enjoy! Bingo, ice cream socials, tshirt tie dying, face paint, beer and wine tasting, and many many more!!! Lakyn was so fun with activities!!! The glitter tattoos are a big hit with all the kiddos! And the bathrooms are constantly clean with Ms Tamara going to town! I highly suggest this campground to anyone who wants to get away to the coast but also have a community feel!!! We will def return in the future!! This KOA is exceptional in its beauty and cleanliness. We stayed in early October in the off season, so it was very quiet and pleasant. I can see there are many great things for kids to do here in the busier seasons. Staff is very friendly. Small store has most everything you would need in a pinch, but expect to pay higher prices. No other stores nearby so come prepared. There is a restaurant about a half mile down the road I would also highly recommend called Skylars. Great fish & chips, oysters, fantastic clam chowder, and so much more but closed Mon-Tues-Wed. read more

Awesome KOA! The new management is super friendly and helpful. The activities provided for Campers are fun for all ages--from clamming in the morning, to bingo, to ice cream socials, to movies on the lawn to wine tasting, there really is something for everyone. There is a path to the beach that winds through a tree-filled area (watch out for Sasquatch!) and includes some fairly steep stairs. If you don't feel like walking down to the sand the view from the top is pretty spectacular. This site has a camp K9 with a grassy off-leash area big enough for me to Chuck tennis balls to my pup and make her day The site is quiet despite being close to the road with a couple of roosters to wake you up in the morning. Absolutely loved this little spot! it was right off the bay where you could easily walk to the beach. They guy running the store was super nice and very informative on places to easily access the beach in case I couldn't handle the stairs as he saw my cane I use to walk and wasn't sure I could make it down that many stair. our site was nice had a patio, table and chairs, fire pit and swing. read more

What a wonderful, amazing rv park!! Brian and Erica, along with the rest of the staff were the absolute best! They were so helpful and accommodating. We were there over a weekend in the summer when they have daily activities for the kids which included foam party, glitter tattoos, and crafts. They also had clamming, and BINGO for the whole family, and wine/ cider tasting for the adults. The sites were great size and clean. They delivered our ice to our sites and even picked up the trash from our sites daily. We had such a nice time we stayed an extra day! read more

We stay here annually with our group and have never had a bad experience. The new owners & staff are the best! The park has their own butter clam beds and we buy local fresh caught oysters (nearby) to grill on our "Seafood Saturday"! This last trip the staff taught the grandkids how to design and color rockets which they shot off while the kids all watch. My 7 yr old said today, "that was the best camping trip ever & he goes a lot. Thanks koa staff for helping create such amazing memories! See you soon! read more

Did somebody say clamming? We came here over the summer and we loved this cute lil campground. It's right above the beach and you just take a really short trail walk to the bay. We went clamming (you need a license) and then down the street we went and bought oysters (for an amazing price) and BBQ'd the Oysters and Clams and had a feast! While we were there they had Christmas in July theme and the kids went caroling, made crafts and saw Santa. Don't expect it to be a huge celebration but it was cute. They had a small playground for children and games which are cool for younger children. A pool would be nice or at least a hot tub but I think the main reason to come is for the clamming and to go buy Oysters really cheap and feast on them. read more

Bay Center Willapa Bay KOA offers an incredible experience for campers of all ages. Room for tents, RVs of most sizes and several cabins are available. Tucked away off 101, the site features access to the Willapa Bay. The KOA general store offers rakes and buckets for rent to rake clams right out of the bay. It's easy to learn to do. The clamming is surprisingly very fun and they're easy to find and rake. The clams are a tasty bonus to this site. Evidently some of the people who are replying on this site about the KOA in Bay Center are there in the middle of winter or else in midweek because the rest of the time it is a nightmare of noise, kids yelling and hollering, dogs barking and people talking and shouting in the middle of the night. Friendly and quaint (as KOAs go). They had some fun extras, like clam digging, movie night (Goonies!), and beer/wine tasting on Saturday where we got to meet other campers. It's up off the beach so you don't get the crazy wind, but also have to walk down some precarious steps to access the bay. This place is jam packed with activities for kids and adults! I've been to quite a few KOAs across the nation and this is probably my favorite. The employees work their butts off to provide a quality campground and excellent experiences for all ages. Fourth of July weekend was slammed with families and it never get crowded. This was my first time staying at a KOA and I absolutely loved it! The place was great, Kabins were super cute and perfect for our needs, outside amenities were spot-on, and overall what a great experience! Because of this KOA I will be looking at staying at these in the future! What a cute little unexpected place! We were in the area for a fishing trip and stayed in their Kabins...what great accommodations! The bunk beds inside were comfy (just bring your own sleeping bag/pillows/blankets), and the Kabin had electricity so light and plug-ins, and even had a TV! Outside there's a nice deck with a swing, and around the Kabin a picnic table, a covered seating area, and a nice BBQ (we used it for oysters)! The bathrooms are very clean and tidy, and there's a code so only people staying at the KOA can get in. To top everything off, the staff were very helpful and friendly, and there's also a cute gift shop and a store on the grounds. The grounds are very big-rig friendly too, with ample parking and turn-arounds which makes manovering a breeze. There's a recycling and trash area, and an area for people's dogs. There's also a great path to the beach, a really pretty walk that leads you down to the water. All in all, an awesome little place to stay with lots of amenities that make for a great getaway! I would come back in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone staying in the area! read more

I highly recommend staying here if your in the area! The people were super friendly and amazingly helpful. We were greeted upon check in and shown to our site even made a switch to a separate site that better fit our tent. The park was clean and had Covid measures in place. All staff wore mask and hand sanitizer all around even the kids park. The bathrooms were very clean and easily accessible. When looking for an adventure the host was very helpful to get us info to many options. My children enjoyed this place as it was very welcoming and kid friendly. Great stay. Will return. read more

There are only a handful of KOA's available in Washington State, and I've stayed at three of them so far. Of those three... this one is on the top of the list! Ken and Iris who run this place are all about customer service. They make you feel like you're royalty! When we drove in, there was a sign welcoming us to their camp ground. Nice touch. Ken carried our wood to our site and split it to boot! The bathrooms were of superior cleanliness! If there is one thing that will turn me off to a camp site and that's dirty bathrooms. Iris was always in the shop and stopped whatever she was doing to provide helpful tips and suggestions for items I forgot to pack. Plus... just great conversation with the two of them about our boats! There is beach access and at low tide you can dig for clams. My son's and wife had a blast for about an hour just digging with their hands and we came away with about 20 keepers. I strongly recommend this KOA as a top spot to say if you're going to visit Willapa Bay. You wont be sorry! read more

My brother and I arrived soaking wet on our bicycles in the middle of our Vancouver, Canada to TJ, Mexico - Pacific Coast Bike tour. Prior to this stay, I never considered staying at a KOA and always prefer state parks. We were warmly greeted by the KOA owners who personally showed us around the campsite in the rain. The owners knew we were on a budget and offered us a discount on a heated cabin which was really nice of them. We cooked pizza bagels in their toaster ovens, bought cold beer, unlimited hot showers, free coffee in the AM, short walk to the beach in the morning and did some laundry. If the weather was better, I would of rented rakes and raked for clams just outside the campground. My only suggestion would be to offer $10 per person bicycle camping rate. There were a few other KOA's that offered this deal in California. I think the camping was about $26 per site which is quite expenses for a long distance bike tourist. But overall, staff was real nice and the amenities were spot on. Great experience. read more

This is our favorite KOA. We love the beach and clamming availability - get a license! The beach has warm, shallow water and easy to swim in with little ones. The hosts are so incredibly kind and accommodating. There is laundry on site (no detergent/dryer sheets, $3.50 a load plus $0.25 for 10 minutes of the dryer) The campground is kept clean and quiet at night. We love the crafts and games for the kids. I love the special touches in the cabins such as extra hooks, mirrors, and the curtains. There is a store with cute little goodies as well as ice, beer, etc. There's a small little cafe with ice cream and goodies. The town of Bay Center is essentially a restaurant. There's a pioneer cemetery which is interesting to read the dates, often with deer around. There's a park/campground at the very tip of Bay Center but the beach is nothing to be excited about. We'll be back! read more

You will not find a friendlier, cleaner or more enthusiastic KOA anywhere. The surrounding location doesn't have a lot of activities but just chilling out here at the campground for a couple days is worth this it. We were in need of a couple days of relaxation during a road trip and this turned out to be the perfect location to do that. Everything is superclean, weekends have fun activities, and the setting is beautiful. It has a local feel, so it draws people from nearby areas. The playground is basic but my kids still loved it. Tent sites are very sheltered and woodsy. Cabins are very clean and cozy. We stayed in both a tent and a cabin at this location were very pleased with both. The beach is accessible from the campground and has a large tidal area so you can walk down there at times and the ocean I'll be a half mile away and sometimes it will be right next to the trail. read more

Loved this place! Stayed in a pet friendly cabin with the doggo and bf and we all loved it. Everyone was extremely nice and they maintain the place really well. The gift shop has all the essentials you could need for camping and nothing seemed too outrageously priced like you would normally expect. Absolutely beautiful coastal forest campground. Exactly what we were looking for. Lots of sites back into the dense trees for RV's and tenters. Plenty of flat pull throughs with grass and trees. Big grassy dog area (not fenced) plus plenty of beach for the pups to run. The short trail to the beach is lovely. Lined with edible thimble berries, bench for contemplation, big foot sighting and troll bridge. Hehe. We stopped at Dennis Co to get a fishing license so we could dig for clams. The staff gave us instructions and rakes and my man had his limit (40 clams) within 20 mins. Yummy! A perfect experience, so very pleased. read more

This KOA is smallish, doesn't have a pool or a hot tub. What it does have is beautiful grounds with trees and shrubs, a huge dog run area, clean showers and bathrooms, and wonderful owners, on-site. Willapa Bay is a 10 minute walk down a wooded pathway. The beach can be walked north to the sleepy town of Bay Center. Along the way you will see the natural erosion of land along the bay displaying the layered strata exposed. We had a wonderful 5 night stay just prior to Memorial Day weekend. The weather was mixed which was just fine for us and our stay was relaxing and quiet. The dogs enjoyed the beach walks even more than we did. We will definitely come back. --Bob read more

This has been our fourth year coming here for elk season. The campground continues to make improvements every year. This time we found our cabin had a new gazebo and propane grill and an extra parking spot. So much better than cooking on the cabin porch. The staff is super friendly and helpful and gives us a credit for our unused days once we tag out. The prices are reasonable and we have never had a bad experience. We'll keep coming back as long as we are able. read more

The caveats to this review are: 1) This is my first time CAMPING (kamping?) at a KOA (one previous visit was to a Kabin (sic) at a KOA on the Oregon Coast). 2) Our preferred camping includes relative seclusion with amenities like showers (RVs/trailers not on top of one another and bathrooms/showers to use). The staff at this KOA are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Check in was easy and we were escorted to our space so the staff could show is the ropes. I was initially disappointed with our space as it was 100% in the sun (no trees). Several spaces had shade options. If you are wanting that I suggest calling the KOA when you make reservations as you may be able to request certain spaces that way (this isn't possible on line). The park itself is quiet and away from the busy Long Beach area. We stayed three nights: a Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Thursday night was fabulous as the park wasn't full and it seemed the crowds were quiet and not very rambunctious. Friday was (as expected) busier, but still was pretty quiet and certainly enjoyable. Saturday was loud. In fairness, our neighbors on Saturday night (in a Kabin next door) included an annoying set of children and some unaware parents who permitted the annoying screaming and hollering and running around. I don't fault the KOA for the clientele next door but our close quarters certainly made escaping the noise difficult. The park had fantastic clean showers and bathrooms, a handy store and even a food (kafe?) area. The setting is beautiful. There is a nice path to the bay (absolutely lovely). The wifi is present but really, really, really weak. Really. Don't expect to stream Netflix or check Instagram without frustration. I suggest bringing some already downloaded movies or plenty of books to read. So sure, we'd come back, assuming we could pick our space in advance. And we would aim for a weekday stay rather than a weekend to avoid the crowds and all that goes with them. Also, just FYI, they do have dog breed restrictions. This didn't impact us (and by the way, they are installing a fenced in dog play area - neat) but it isn't our favorite policy and we wish they'd reconsider that (and maybe consider some people breed restrictions instead... like the kind of people who are ignorant to the loud noises their offspring are making). read more

This was a great little park. We forgot our gas grill, they loaned us a barbie. They also cook pizza and wings and will deliver to you! Small charge for pets. Free showers. Large pet area. Kind of slow WIFI and only 6 TV channels if that is important to you. Really nice people run it. We will return! read more

This is the nicest KOA we have been to! They have designed the site to give the feeling that you have your own area unlike most KOA's that just have one RV next to another with no separation. It is right next to the water, high tide is beautiful and when low tide comes in, if you are into clamming, this is the perfect place to come. The site does not have a swimming pool or hot tub but that does not take away from the 5 star rating. We will diffidently come back to this KOA! read more

We had the BEST time here. First of all, every spot in the place was pretty decent. It's a small park and has a peaceful atmosphere. We did indeed go clamming after purchasing a license in the town of Raymond roughly 30 minutes away. I see you can accomplish this online with the Fish Washington app, and would highly recommend other campers heading this way investigate that option beforehand. We got a lot of clams! It was great:) The water was WARM on your feet! We are from California where the water is miserably icy all year long. This was an otherworldly experience. They have pizza which smells great cooking each night. They sell ice cream and have nice items in their store. There are quite a few thoughtful touches here and they've done a great job creating the ideal campground. We would 100% stay here again and recommend you book too! read more

This place was great! The service here was fantastic and it had a great feel to it. The staff were helpful and they had a lot of activities planned. It also happened to be "pirate week" in some nearby town and the staff were all dressed up. The sites were great and were an adequate size with a nice picnic table and fire pit. There was a path to the beach which is a GREAT place to find cool looking clam shells as a souvenir. They had a nice "dog walk area" AND an off-leash area. They had a playground, volleyball court, and small basketball court and they apparently also rent RC cars and have a racetrack. The store was nice and had a lot of the essentials including firewood for $5.50. They had a deli and even an ICE CREAM SHOP! They apparently do $1 root beer floats every Saturday. Showers and clean bathrooms are also available here. The staff also seemed knowledgeable about local sights and events and they had a decent wall of brochures. They sold campground patches which I think are cool because I like to put patches of places I visit on a vest. They also have a couple nearby Geocaches if you are into that. The only thing that would make this place better would be if they sold kindling especially because you are not allowed to collect wood, they do however sell Duraflame fire starters for a dollar and some other brand for 3. (Btw, this is my first time ever staying in a KOA and will definitely look into using KOA the next time I travel anywhere.) read more

I don't usually write reviews but let me tell you, this one SURELY deserves one hell of a review. Definitely posting this review everywhere. Over the weekend, my family decided to go camping at Bay Center/Willapa Bay KOA. We go on a lot of camping trips together and wanted to experience a new place. Most important thing to get out of this review: DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. If you like to go camping with friends and/or family, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. If you like having conversations and laughing, DO NOT GO HERE. Not only were most of the workers very rude, they were also very controlling. Constantly patrolling the grounds to make sure people were quiet during both quiet and non-quiet hours. I've never in my life gone to camping grounds where you can't even laugh with your family while playing card games. Every single interaction we've had with their staff was just so rude. Instead of talking to us politely, they were threatening to kick us out for being too loud. Not welcoming or friendly at all. Also a piece of advice to the staff, instead of storming to your guests' campsites and attacking them first thing in the morning, try speaking to them like actual humans. Good campgrounds, terrible attitudes, and an even nightmarish staff. If you like having people breathing down your neck so you would stay quiet, definitely stay here. If you like being yelled at by someone to get their point across, then you should stay here. By far, the worst KOA we've ever been to. Would not recommend to anyone. You don't have to tell us we're not allowed back because no part of us wants to. We'll also let everyone we know know not to come here. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW HORRIFIC THIS EXPERIENCE WAS.
