We've passed this place on the way to Westport so many times and finally stopped by hungry after clamming. They have a huge selection of sausages from hot spicy to mild. We went with a snack pack filled with pieces of meats and cheeses (great if you want to try a variety on the go), the Beer and cheese brats, pepperoni and teriyaki sticks. Also had to have a German garlic brat on a bun with cream cheese (which came in a packet so nothing fancy). The brat was juicy, garlicky with a snappy casing - so yummy! They do have sauerkraut, peppers and other condiments to add. We loved everything we got and plan to make a stop whenever we are in the area to try other smoked goodies and their jams. Simple quick service and no seating area so grab and go and chow down in your car. read more

Excellent selection, both fresh and frozen. I waited until I used all the items I purchased. Everything tasted fresh, and homemade. Really good flavor and texture, with good snap to the sausage links. Well worth the drive from Olympia for this. Definitely will be back once I have more room in the freezer. Okay, so I am trying to be on a heart healthy diet. I explained this to the young lady at the counter. I'm also someone who likes a good cookout at the beach and a roasted hotdog. And while I wouldn't call their beef hotdog particularly heart healthy, it was clearly leaner and of a higher quality than those I could buy at the local markets. The staff was helpful and patient, answering all my questions related to my diet. I really appreciated having option that, although not perfectly "good," for my diet, it was likely less "bad," for my diet. The beef hotdogs were amazing. I also tried their brats. They were awesome! Tiny little spot along the highway in the middle of nowhere. As local as it gets. Jams, jellies, sausages, jerky etc. All made here. Grab a few things for your road trip and you'll be glad you did. As far as hot food, the selection isn't robust, but you can grab a house made sausage dog and take it with you to-go and it makes for a nice quick meal. Prices run a little high, but that's to be expected given the quality and the homemade nature of the stuff. That being said, definitely stop in and check it out if you're passing by. I was super excited to conclude my Father's Day trip to the coast stopping in hear on the drive back. I love the type of things these places specialize in, and they didn't disappoint with variety. Jerkey, sausages, dips, cheeses, barbecue sauces, and even more of an array of things to give them an eclectic touch (my wife loves the cow painted exterior btw). Dunno if it was Covid concerns or what was going on, the people working around the front seemed a little tense. Whether it was between each other, or me, or something else, the vibe seemed a lil edgy. . . Aside from that though, purchased some of their special pineapple sausage, some smoked cheese, the peppered jerky was superb and damn near gone by the time we got home, and I can't find the pig ear I got for my dog after he went to town on it once we settled in. He's the pickiest of us all and doesn't stand for poorly done pig ears. So whatever you did with that batch, your biggest critic approves. read more

The best sausage in WA! My wife and I always stop her to get her stock of tasty sausages for home. She likes the spicy sausage from here. It is about 4 minutes away from Westport Winery. The place is pretty small and if you drive by here you have to slow down or else you'll pass it up especially when it gets closer to dark and they close at 6pm. Prices are ok. No idea how the sausages from Bay City Sausage have achieved such high ratings. We bought 4 different kinds, and other than the one described as "Hot!" they were universally bland. The hot one had no flavor other than heat. Upon closer inspection of the ingredients, we attribute the poor quality to the addition of soy flour to stretch the meat out. However; Today at about 1 o'clock give or take we stopped at your establishment to purchase some of your wares. I noticed that the register reader was showing a different amount from the amount owed so I asked my daughter why it was showing a much larger amount and I said it "didn't seem right". Your cashier said to me, "Your rude", at which I was astonished. She could have just explained the reason why the register reader was different, but she did not. To say 'Your Rude' to a customer is what is very rude in my considered opinion. She could have simply explained why it showed a difference. I was very offended by this. My initial response in my head was to reply that she was the one being rude, but I did not say aloud how rude she sounded. We also picked up some Andouille sausage, Hungarian Sausage, Linguica sausage, and a pack of the "mixed combo" which is cuts of sausages and smoked cheeses in a vacuum sealed bag, good stuff! You can tell the sausages are actually spiced differently and not like some places where everything tastes the same no matter what they call it. Also picked up some homemade blackberry whiskey jam and bourbon peach jam to make some glazes. They have a signs that reads, "You can beat our prices but you can't beat our meat"! Their products are great but not consistent. Some trips we stop in and you cannot find better sausage and jerky. Then on some trips, it's different. They really should train their staff to make things the same every time. But what gets me is the horrible customer service. Grumpy and snide. They treat you like they are busy with other things and that you are an inconvenience so hurry up. You ask them questions and they have no idea. My husband and I popped in on our way back from Westport yesterday and were warmly greeted and offered some samples right away. They had just smoked some Steelhead so we got some of that to go as well as some beef jerky and sausage. The Steelhead was nice and warm and we couldn't help but eat it up in the car before we even left the place. SO GOOD! The jerky and sausage were just as delicious.
