I am an avid fisherman, but only recently got my first boat. I have almost no idea about how to use it. So.... I clearly looked like an idiot when I took my Nitro Z7 in for some maintenance. They were patient with me and even helped me hook back up when I left. They even looked and saw that there were few things wrong with my hitch ball setup and helped me correct it. I don't write these often, in fact this may be my first. I am so absolutely disgusted with Bay Marine and the situation they put me in. I purchased a Evinrude E-tec outboard 3 years ago so it was due for maintenance. I live 5 mins from Bay Marine so I wanted to take it there. I call to get pricing for the maintenance and it 2 times higher than the other Evinrude certified dealers, Gwinnett Marine and Boat and Motors of Dalton. They wanted to charge me over $1,100 dollars for the maintenance while the other 2 shops wanted $550. Neither of the other shops could even fathom why they would charge that much. If you live near Bay Marine, DO NOT buy an evinrude or you will be stuck paying twice as much for service or driving an hour to get you boat worked on, which is what I did. The folks at Boat and Motors of Dalton were amazing, friendly and informative. You need to take the engine to an evinrude dealer for the warranty so they are ripping off evinrude customers in the area that would have no other choice then to use them or drive an hour. My next communication will be to Evinrude explaining how Bay Marine is doing a disservice to their customers. I will never by an Evinrude again unless they take action. Stay away from Bay Marine! read more

This is a great place to take your boat. I have been using them for years and they do amazing service. This last time I had my boat serviced, detailed, and got a new prop. They really know what they are doing. I love that every time I come in I see the same faces. This is a great family business and a gem to the community. Can't speak for sales but service was an absolute nightmare. I inquired 4/20 to set up service to replace an impeller. They told me they couldn't see me until 5/9. Seemed like a long wait but at the beginning of the season I can understand. Brought the boat in and was told there were 8 people ahead of me but it should be done by the end of the week. Called Sat 5/13 and was told there were still 6 jobs ahead of me. When I asked how they only got 2 jobs done in 28 working hours I was told we do them in order of arrival. Called again 5/24 and was told they'll get to it in the AM. They did and replaced the impeller. I had asked them to give the boat a once over and they found a couple of other issues. I told them go ahead and fix them. Was told they needed to order parts. They didn't get the boat finished for Memorial Day. Called 6/2 and was told they ordered the wrong bolts for a power steering pump mount. When asked why they didn't just go to a hardware store I was told they only use OEM parts. Ridiculous. Finally gave up on them and just took my boat back. The bill they gave was outrageous. No discounts for my inconvenience or their incompetence just a $1K bill for a boat that was still in pieces! I try to support smaller operations where I can but if you want your boat back this season I wouldn't take it here for service. read more

Bay Marine service did a complete diagnostic on a used replacement motor I bought elsewhere. I had installed it myself but needed a good shop to look it over and fine tune everything. I wanted an Evinrude certified shop and these guys were great. I especially found Terry to be prompt, thorough, and honest about what was going on and needed to be done. A real straight shooter. We were on the water the same day I picked it up. Happy customer! read more

We just purchased a Manitou Oasis Angler pontoon from Bay Marine. We had never operated a boat, let alone owned a boat prior to this. Greg spent at least an hour with me the first time I visited and then stayed late that same day to show my wife various boats along with explaining all the nuances of boat ownership . I went back an additional 2 times to look at various things before finalizing my order. At each visit, Greg took the time to answer all my questions and I never felt rushed or pressured to make a purchase. Once my boat arrived, Greg prepped it, installed a fish finder along with external LED lights, and delivered it to Lake Altoona. I was unable to go through boat operations with him that day so Greg was kind enough to come out a different day to spend with us on the water learning about our boat. If you are considering a boat, even if you are a newbie like me, go to Greg at Bay Marine.
