He then tried to threaten me and said if I posted my poor experience, (that was witnessed by 17 individuals), he would sue me. My lawyers had to be copied on the emails and once I put them on the emails, Dan told me I was, "blocked." Up until I copied my attorneys on the emails, Dan continued to send threatening emails. Despite me putting it in writing to please leave me alone. I have attached pictures here of our conversation. The fridge was broken, the air conditioner would work on some nights, others it did not. The sink would clog and the drainer was broken. This hasn't been addressed because it says they are not responsible for this in the contract. But for your knowledge, the pictures are deceiving. We originally booked this place as a 4/3. Please do your research. Dan, the owner, charged us for a 4/3. We placed a call to Dan to let him know we didn't have the 4/3 and in front of 17 individuals on speakerphone, Dan corroborated this by stating, "yes absolutely. That unit is included with the rental." Dan then gave us the address to the second unit and we walked over there, only to find a family inside. It wasn't until he gave us the address and we attempted to get inside, that Dan called us back and took back everything he said. Unfortunately, the website says it's a 4/3. The owner will likely respond by telling you our email correspondence says I agreed to a 3/2. I have attached those screenshots here. He continues to send me a link that I did not click on. I did it through their website. It is advertised as a 4/3. When Dan realized he double booked, he called us back and said we were mistaken. Despite telling us, "absolutely. The 4th unit is included with your rental." The contract also states we are responsible for looking at the website, which advertises this as a 4/3. Upon my attempt to speak with Dan, he yelled at the top of his lungs, "STOP!!!!" It was the most bazaar reaction. I then said, "excuse me? I am trying to explain my frustration with you." Dan then responded by stating, "ugh I don't feel like dealing with this. I'm on vacation. You booked what you booked. This isn't my problem." I asked him who I could speak to when he is on vacation and he responded with, "no one. This isn't my problem. I don't know what you want me to do. I don't feel like dealing with this." Our email exchange sums up the majority of the issues we faced with Dan. I didn't raise my voice once. I tried to calmly express my frustration and the owner responded by yelling at me, telling me it wasn't his problem, and talking down to me. Please read the reviews on the company. NOT THE LOCATION. The location is why this place continues to get bookings. The owner attempted to sell me a rental that opened up the next morning. He ignored the fact that I paid him for the 4th bedroom and then he charged another family to stay there. Therefore, he charged both me (who did not stay in the 4th unit) and the other family, (who actually stayed in the unit). He essentially rented the fourth bedroom twice, profited from us both, and the other family stayed in it. When he texted me the next morning asking if I wanted the extra unit for a "discounted price." I said "no thank you." I didn't send another text or send any emails. I was going to let my lawyer handle it when I got home. The owner then started an email chain stating I booked the 3/2. When I attempted to defend myself, he threatened me, coerced me, and tried to scare me into posting this review. It wasn't until I copied my lawyer onto the email thread that he stopped sending messages. Even the last email was an attempt to threaten me if I went public with this.

Blu- ray so we could access our Netflix account & watch movies in the evening. Walking distance to the local Seafood- Captain Curts & Orange Octopus. Drinks at Daquiri Deck is walking distance as well. Village area is a short drive away. Construction is only in the parking car ports now so it wasn't an issue! We will be staying again !!

We have been coming here for the last several years. It is a great location right on the beach. The…read morepool is great. I appreciate the washer and dryer in unit. Here is the downside, you have to drag your chair down to the beach and drag it back up everyday. The chairs that are provided are not lounge chairs. They are not comfortable for a day at the beach. We had to rent chairs at a cost of about 100.00 for the week. Also the elevator is still not Working 2 years after the hurricane. Overall we will come back due to the amazing beach front. Just be prepared for some of the issues I mentioned.

The unit we were in was stocked with all the cooking utensils we needed. They had a grill out by the pool and a bag a charcoal was provided in the unit. Staying here is more a campground feeling compared to other rentals in the island. That was ok with us. Very nice tree covered area . The way the area used to be before the mega condo .One thing with the unit was the bathroom door stuck , which means you had to pull the bathroom door rather hard to exit. When your in bed at 330 am and your son is stuck in the bathroom and you wake up still drunk from the night before thinking someone is breaking in from all the commotion , it's kinda scary. My biggest issue here was the management company. We arrived to the unit around 330 pm to the address of the unit , 5955 Midnight Pass Rd to find the office empty. After wondering what we were supposed to do I called all the numbers I could find , including the property owner and they told me to 124 Columbus Blvd to check in. Ok , not a big deal. Wish I had a heads up before hand of where to go , driving 14 hours straight doesn't put one in the best of moods , we drove down and checked in. They told me at check in WiFi was only available at the " club house " which was mentioned NOWHERE on the VRBO listing . LUCKLY the owner had it in his unit. Unfortunately we had some work to do and sitting at a club house was not really an acceptable option. After check in , My wife and I wanted to hit the beach for the last hour and a half of sunlight (we were here over New Years ) and the key fob to access the beach was missing. By the time the management company found one and got it to me , we had enough time to watch the people leave the beach . The next day I inquired about the court Games that were in the office , the office no one occupies , they said sorry no court Games. Then I asked if we could bring a bike and leave at our cottage for the 4 days while we were here to use around the island , they said no to that too. So I had to drive 20 mins ( holiday traffic ) to rent bikes for 3 hours . Now keep in mind they charge a condo fee of 18$ a day on top off what you pay for the unit, which included WiFi , bike rental , beach access, parking. . Would i stay in this unit again , yes. It has a cool place with a beachy feel to it. I don't care for the 18$ a day extra fee charged by the MGMT company. I don't really see a value in it. We found this place from VRBO and was very happy to get this place on short notice for the New Years and the place was as expected. the place was nice and this post is in no way a reflection of the owner , unit or the grounds. She took the time to show me the property and an available unit one afternoon. Unfortunately the unit was too small for my liking/furniture but the complex itself appears to be a very well kept property that I would have loved to be a resident of if the right unit was available. Definitely contact Barbara and give Beneva Place a consideration when looking for your next apartment home!
