We went to 3 fabricators prior to going to Tampa Bay Marble and Granite. We spent a lot of time in the process with those 3 fabricators, and none of them called us back after the fact.  I figured that the companies are too busy due to the recent hurricanes.  When we went to Tampa Bay Marble and Granite, we felt like we were their only customer with the time that they spent with us and the constant connection they maintained with us. Upon our first contact with Raphael, we were so relaxed and became confident that this process will be so much better than the other three.  He was so kind and upbeat.  With the help of Marcella, we actually decided on an even more beautiful counter that we initially thought would be out of our price range.  Every stop along the way, each person we met through the process was kind and patient with us.  The focus on detail and making sure it was everything we loved was as if they were making counters for themselves. When we went to view the layout prior to actual fabrication, we were all laughing together.  A nice memory for us. Such wonderful people.  Initially, we thought we would have to have a seam due to the length of the bar area; however, Marcella found a better way to lay it all out so there would not be a seam there.  It was an enjoyable experience.  We told our contractor to recommend you first if he needed to find a fabricator for customers.  He was impressed with the results of the counter also, and I was glad he got to meet Marcelo. They flooded our finished bathroom and took a chunk out of our brand new tub while inspecting the tub filler, damaged the inside our new cabinets in several spots because they didn't cover them while work was being performed, installed chipped sills on the pony walls multiple times, including the final sill that is installed now, and when it was all said and done, they repainted only half of the bathroom after their contractor botched the texturing. We have been trying to get Eva to replace the tub that they damaged for months, but she won't respond. Each day when I walk into the bathroom, I get a new reminder of how bad of a job they did. We have remodeled several homes with contractors and this was the worst experience that we have ever had.

The beginning of this process started out seemingly great. The staff is friendly and helpful. One…read moreof them walked with me through their warehouse as I chose a slab that would most closely match my existing granite. I just needed new granite to replace on my kitchen island. I picked one that was a very close match, ordered it, and thought nothing of it. Once it was installed in my well-lit kitchen, I saw something upsetting. The finish of my slab was FULL of small pits. It reminded me of someone either sandblasting it with pebbles or even it being damaged by bird shot. I called them and had a few people come by to look for themselves. The answer? I bought "level 1" granite and this is just the nature of the stone. I asked why are the edges so smooth but not the surface? That answer? Because they only polish the edges which are what they cut to fit the location. Why not just polish the working surface too? When I picked out this granite in the warehouse, I did not see all the pitting due to the low lighting and dustiness of the stone. I was never warned to expect this quality. While it overall looks good, when you're at the island with the lights on, it really stands out. My neighbor even noticed it and asked about it. It is difficult to accept that they would sell this low quality / damaged stone to someone when people could go to Home Depot or similar and get a SMOOTH granite countertop. I have never in my life seen granite with so much pitting no matter the level of stone! I expect something at least as good as a big-box store when paying a good amount of money towards a focal point in my home.
