The house that I purchased was missing a couple interior doors- and I wanted to put a bifold door on the laundry room. The first time I called, Jose was super helpful- knew exactly what kind of doors I had in my house, told me how much they were in standard sizes, and gave me the name of Steve Hendon, who was the guy who would actually install the doors. Steve came out a couple days later to measure all my doorways- it's an old house so they're not standard measurements- plus the frames are kinda crooked due to settling. He promptly got that information to Jose at West Tampa Doors. When I went in to pick out my doors, again, Jose was very helpful. He gave me an exact estimate of how much the doors would cost, now that he knew the measurements and how they had to be cut to fit. I thought the prices were all very reasonable!!! Cheaper than some other big name stores. He answered all my questions...even the stupid ones (do the doors come painted? do they come with hinges?)...and was great the whole time. I will be replacing my back door in the next few months and I look forward to calling Jose again! West Tampa Door is a great example of a local business with awesome customer service.

One…read moreof them walked with me through their warehouse as I chose a slab that would most closely match my existing granite. I just needed new granite to replace on my kitchen island. I picked one that was a very close match, ordered it, and thought nothing of it. Once it was installed in my well-lit kitchen, I saw something upsetting. The finish of my slab was FULL of small pits. It reminded me of someone either sandblasting it with pebbles or even it being damaged by bird shot. I called them and had a few people come by to look for themselves. The answer? I bought "level 1" granite and this is just the nature of the stone. I asked why are the edges so smooth but not the surface? That answer? Because they only polish the edges which are what they cut to fit the location. Why not just polish the working surface too? When I picked out this granite in the warehouse, I did not see all the pitting due to the low lighting and dustiness of the stone. I was never warned to expect this quality. While it overall looks good, when you're at the island with the lights on, it really stands out. My neighbor even noticed it and asked about it. It is difficult to accept that they would sell this low quality / damaged stone to someone when people could go to Home Depot or similar and get a SMOOTH granite countertop. I have never in my life seen granite with so much pitting no matter the level of stone! I expect something at least as good as a big-box store when paying a good amount of money towards a focal point in my home.

I learned that removing the old sink and countertop, plus disassembling plumbing costs extra and sometimes wasn't offered. A&S offered a huge selection of beautiful slabs with prices including installation. I made an appointment with Heidi to visit the store. She was incredibly helpful and great to work with. The style I wanted had the best price per square-foot compared to everywhere else I looked into. I also purchased a brand new sink for less than Lowe's and Home Depot. They offered removal for an additional charge but we took care of it ourselves. Installation was booked within a week. The installers were professional and did an excellent job. My new sink and countertop are flawless!

We are very grateful. Opportunities: Communication-not great. Contractors speak Spanish/we speak English causing huge gap. If something goes wrong, call the company-ask why. Flip-Bench-requested in master shower. When we saw the bench not in there, it was too late because an anchor needed to go in before shower wall. Given a stand-alone bench. Mirrors-Told our mirrors can go back on the wall, they did not fit w/new vanities. Given $600 credit Quartz countertops-Picked out Quartz countertops in April. If cost difference, we will pay it. End of Jun-time to put them in, we're told we needed to pick something else. We were given 1 option that we didn't like. We ended up w/original choice. Timeliness - There were at least 4 times that we had no clue if the contractors were coming. Either there was no confirmation, or they would show up 11-1130ish, 2:30ish & stay until 7:30ish. When everything was finished, there was poor caulking in 1 bathroom & NO caulking in master, with/plug hanging off the wall. They said, they'll be back Mon 8:30-9. NO one showed or called. We called them 12ish, they'll be there 2:30-3. At 3:20, someone shows up. THIS would be the time to show up or at least call us, instead of having to call them. Especially since they needed to fix something THEY screwed up. These times are the difference between going to work or not, even for 1/2 day. This past weekend I opened a vanity drawer & the handle became unhinged, so we will be buying another one of those. On Monday our mirrors were put back in. Ultimately, we like our bathrooms, but the heartache that went along was not worth the over $53,000 we paid.
