Bay View Restaurant is a hidden gem in Milpitas! We went to celebrate a work milestone and were greeted with happy smiles as usual. Attended a Sunday afternoon indoor wedding because of the weather. There is no signal up here but I was able to get the WiFi when I went to their store. That helped me get service, it was a buffet and the food was pretty good, smaller side of the venue with a full bar. The bartenders were working hard and the drinks were good! They have bathrooms located inside and looks like a beautiful golf course up on the hill past the residential with beautiful views but no cell service. read more

Played at Bayview Golf Club yesterday and overall had a really disappointing experience. Pace of play was brutal -- 4.5 hours and I had to leave on hole 13 because the round was dragging so badly. For a course that seems to take itself very seriously, basic pace management clearly isn't a priority. To make things worse, I left my 60° wedge on hole 12. The group behind me was kind enough to turn it in and specifically told me they left it at the front desk. That same day, the course verified they had it. I forgot to grab it before leaving, called back the next day, and suddenly it was "missing." Very frustrating and disappointing handling of lost-and-found. On top of that, I was yelled at in the lobby by staff for handing my friend a sealed bottle of liquor that I had brought as a gift after the round. Instead of handling it professionally, the interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and rude. This place acts like a high-end private club, but the customer service and overall experience didn't reflect that at all. Slow play, poor lost-and-found accountability, and unprofessional staff made this an easy place not to return to. Would not recommend. read more

The course has no marshals. They rely on the GPS to communicate with the prison if a player needs assistance. Today we were behind a slow two some and I wanted the marshal to get them to move or let us play through. Well I sent the message while on 11th hole. Someone came by the end of #17 hole. Boy if I had a life or death emergency I would be in trouble. Management needs to train their staff to be more diligent about the message on the monitor. In the past I have sent messages asking for assistance with no response. This is unacceptable. I guess customer care is not number one on their list. read more

We first started sending our son to golf classes at Bay View during the pandemic. At that time, he knew nothing about golf, but the amazing coaches made the sport fun and exciting for him. As a parent who doesn't know much about golf myself, I really appreciated how the coaches also helped us choose the right golf clubs for him. We also tried the Junior Golf Summer Camps this year . This summer camp is absolutely worth joining. The kids get a full, active day filled with meaningful practice time, and it's a great way for them to improve quickly while having fun. Overall, the coaches are professional, patient, and truly passionate. I highly recommend not only the group lessons but also trying private sessions for more personalized instruction. The coaches here are outstanding. They inspire kids to love golf and help them build confidence and skills with every lesson. read more

Clean open space inside but sitting outside where you can watch the tenth tee off is fun. Golf course was in great shape and mowed nicely to match the slope. Greens were fast and true as always. Awful experience and generally advice against making a tee time here. I will start with a positive - the staff is extremely welcoming. Everyone I ran into had a genuine interest in making the experience great, which was much appreciated. All of these hard working individuals in the pro shop, at the cart barn, and in the bar should be rewarded for their effort. The course today was an absolute mess. Cart path only, two days after a semi-normal rain, and course conditions were awful. We had a 10 am hour tee time and it took 6 hours to play 18. This has much to do with course conditions being so awful that much of even the fairways are unable to be walked, let alone a cart, due to the thick mud. Absolutely atrocious drainage issues on almost every hole makes this track worse than San Jose Muni at double the cost. On course Marshalls seem to not have any clue on how to get around slow play. We had a 4some in front of us playing what I believe to be the slowest round I've ever seen anywhere in my life; and yet OUR carts were telling us we're '10 minutes behind.' Funny that even the carts were off - we were more than an hour behind, all thanks to the absolute amateur groups of golfers ahead. In short - this course has so much potential. Friendly staff and layout is fun and challenging. However, everyone in the Bay Area knows at this point that they cannot upkeep this course and playing conditions are so bad that it makes for an awful round (and long round because they let 20+ handicaps play from the back tees). This course's reputation is that of a last minute tee time if you can't get anywhere better (again; even San Jose Muni in is better shape 2+ days after rain). Will not come back and will be advising all friends to stay away until they can figure out how to take care of the sloppy mudfest and 6 hour round shitshow they call a 'club.' read more

Booked a tee time for four at Bayview and had to cancel last minute -- that's on me and my group. But instead of showing any flexibility, their operations manager Joseph (yes, the guy with the mustache and inflated ego) forced me to pay for the entire reservation. When I tried to reason with him, he was dismissive, rude, and completely inflexible. It's amazing how someone in such a low-level role can act like he runs Augusta. Rigid, arrogant, and clearly more focused on squeezing money than building loyal golfers. Most courses I've played at are reasonable -- offering a credit or reschedule -- but Bayview takes the opposite approach. Great location, but terrible customer service. If you value fair treatment and professionalism, head to Cinnabar, Coyote Creek, or even the local muni courses -- all of which actually appreciate their players. read more

Golfed Bay View yesterday and it is a Very tough course to play in that most of the fairways are narrow, with either slopping left to right or right to left fairways, so accuracy is a necessity. Most, if not all, of the greens are very undulated, left and right breaks, as well as being steep slopping greens. If you're going to have slopping fairways, at least have somewhat of a flat green so that when you do get on, the putts are forgiving. Tee time was set for 9:26 but we didn't get off until 9:40 and didn't get finished until 2:15 (4.5 hrs) which is nuts for this early of a tee time. I don't recommend this course for any beginner as it will result in a very frustrating round of golf and is not a true representation of most golf courses in the area. Too much slopping narrow fairways and greens. There were No ball cleaning stations for any of the holes so that was strange as all courses I've been to have these at most, if not every, hole. There was also No refreshment cart, going around the course, so if you don't bring anything on the course you will have to wait until the 10th tee to stop and get something to eat or drink. All the staff was pleasant and friendly. I Don't like that they won't give you your golf cart key until you are almost ready to tee off and you can't go to your car, with the cart, if you want to pick up your golf bag or if you forgot something in the car. All other courses, I've golfed at, allow you to do this but not here. Fine at the end of the round but not before the beginning of your round. That's kind of a stupid rule. A couple of the fairways were in rough condition especially #11 but most were in good condition. Again, I do not recommend this course if you are a beginner and or new to golf. read more

I played at Bay View Golf Club recently. The first few holes were fine, but play slowed significantly around hole 8 and was extremely slow by hole 11. I had to stop after hole 12. There were no marshals on the course to help with pace of play, and despite muddy conditions, there were no ball cleaners on any holes. Overall, a disappointing experience that could be improved with better course management. read more

Fairways are too close together and very narrow. There were several instances when there were golfers on other fairways hitting onto the fairway we were playing on looking for balls. The price to pay is expensive for a course that wasn't in good shape. Pace is also very slow, even with the 7 minute gaps between each start time. It seems like a lot of new golfers with less experience come here which could explain the pace. The attendants also do not give you the golf cart keys until about 2 minutes to your start time, not sure why. You can't go to your car with the golf cart to pick up your clubs before starting. read more

What a wonderful surprise. Looking for a spot to celebrate my Birthday, and this venue host Sunday R&B Brunch. It was perfect for us who like to still eat good food, have some bubbly, and dance to music (from back in the day.) and What? There's a golf club in Milpitas... So we came to eat, sip, and dance - menu was island style /comfort food - delicious, made with care, and just right to hold all the Mimosa's we had. The servers were happy to be there, so offered service with a smile ~ aiming to please. Phil the Manager was wonderful to work with to make arrangements so all we had to do was eat, and be merry. Crowd was friendly and great vibes even if they didn't know us - much respect, and joy in the room. I look forward to joining an event again, and bringing friends who want to eat and dance during the day. DJ's brought the playlists that reminded us of our younger days. Mixed age range of crowd - and by the way, not limited to Girlfriends though event almost suggested it. The Gals there were so nice all around!! read more

An absolute diabolical course that made me want to turn into a Karen and ask for the manager. Pace was horrendous, took us 3 hours to do 9 holes. For the price the conditions need to be better and a marshall present to maintain the pace. The carts are horrible. Ours shut down 3 times. The 4some in front of us spent 5 minutes on each shot giving each other lessons only for the ball to go 10 yards. It's more expensive than its neighbor Spring Valley, yet SV is 100x better in every aspect. read more

Decided to venture out to a new course, and I gotta say, Bay View Golf Club is a pretty good course. We got an online tee time day of, and for $75 with a cart per person, it wasn't bad at all. The course itself was pretty well maintained even though they are going through some renovations on the course and in the clubhouse. Tee boxes were average, course was pretty tight and narrow, so accuracy is needed. The greens rolled nice but damn where they tough. Lots of left to right putts, undulation, it was hard to read and get used to but challenging in a good way. Pace of play on a Friday was about 4.5-5hrs. The food at the clubhouse was pretty good. I got an Asian chicken wrap which was tasty and with some garlic fries were a nice touch. The alcohol here is pretty pricey, so I think I'd pass next time around. Our food and drinks ended up costing as much as the round. $60 for two double shots of don Julio. It's don julio, ain't no way it should be that expensive, especially at a public golf course. My suggestion for the food though is to put the food in containers with lids. The birds went into our cart and ripped the box open and ended up taking our food when we had only eaten half. Lesson learned on our end, always finish your food, and don't give the birds a chance to steal it lol The carts have a gps on them but they are kinda annoying in the sense that they are super sensitive in that if you drive on parts right off the fairway, it'll lock, and you'll have to reverse until it'll let you drive again. Great way to protect the course, however some parts where it locked didn't make sense. No biggie but good to know for future reference. They even gave us a return voucher to use at the end of the month for $49 which includes a round, small bucket, cart, snack and drink. That's a great deal, dunno if we will make it back this month, but definitely a good incentive to try to. Either way, I think it's good value for a public course and will be back if we find ourselves needing to be in the South Bay. read more

Attended a private event here with my large family. The food was fantastic! We raved about the shrimp, fish, chicken, and Mac salad from the Hawaiian inspired menu. The ambiance from the club is also perfect. Already thinking of another event we can have here. The views of the course are gorgeous from the windows. Lastly, you can't beat the service. The staff was on it on filling waters and food was always being restocked. Bar was even fast. Highly recommend to book for your next event. read more

I reviewed this golf course over a decade ago, but there was an ownership and name change, so my review went bye-bye with the old listing (Summitpointe). Revisited last late summer and it seemed more the same than different. The course is still going through some changes, like they're getting rid of an old lake I believe and trying to widen some of the holes, as this course historically always played tough. Dead smack in the middle of the Milpitas hills, where you'll start seeing lots of large/custom homes as you climb up this road. Much hilly-er than Spring Valley which is just one exit down the freeway. The tee shots may be your only flat footing here, as once you leave that tee box, more times than not, I am not transferring my weight fluidly during a shot. Which eventually gets frustrating for me as I'm often not striking a solid shot. I totally get why this place doesn't get the same traffic as most other public courses. The scenery is nice and I do like how the course flows. I like the back 9 better than the front, with a legit lake to deal with both on 10 and 18 to close. My favorite hole is 11, which is a shorter downhill par 4 to a small green with a nice large oak tree guarding off to the side. Just a classic hole to me. The bar and food area is a bit dated, like little changes even since over a decade ago since I last visited. The food team seems a bit upgraded since my last visit, and they probably use them for more events/weddings than probably golfers. I even glanced at a few other food pics and it definitely looks better now and I wouldn't mind in getting more involved with the eats here. Definitely more upscale. Appetizer Sampler ($20ish/4*) We only tried this once with a couple rounds of post-game drinks. I was actually quite impressed with this. There were garlic fries and onion rings that were standard but nicely executed with both being nice and crisp without being excessively oily. There was a small dish of fried pork belly, which was okay. And because Milpitas has a strong Filipino residency, they seemed to cater to that influence as there were little lumpias on this platter as well, which was actually the best part of the platter IMO. The bar is super old school as it has a sunken bar with low stools to sit in but the bartenders floor is below your floor, so as you sit, their face/head is at your level. Total 70's-80's thing. I also like how the full length of the bar overlooks part of the course through lots of windows. So lots of light in there. So golf wise, not really itching to revisit, but if someone suggested it or wanted to try it, I'd entertain them. I'm just not good enough to have a real good time here. After a round of Golf, we decided to try the Restaurant in the Clubhouse, & found it very delicious. We tried the Sampler Platter, Hamburger, Quesadilla, Fish & Chips, & Clam Chowder. All of which where very delicious. I will definitely make it a must do, after every round of Golf there. The service from the waitress' was great also, keeping our drinks full during our meal... I was visiting the course for a business meeting today in their renovated restaurant and found the entire facility to be quite impressive. Gorgeous views along with very friendly and helpful staff were some of the highlights. They are introducing a new menu in the restaurant as well and I have to say the food was quite delectable. The food certainly leaves the traditional "burger and fries" normality behind that caters to an elevated palate which I found to be both tasty, and easy on the eyes. In my time there, a member of the ownership was actually in and visited us with a few extra items to try. I was pleasantly surprised and taken back by the kind gesture. Especially from someone who must be quite busy and took time to come speak to us about the updates. Thank you to the staff and team there today for a nice surprise, and unbeatable views. Went to the clubhouse after the 8 hole and ate hoping the speed would pick up.After about 30 mins of eating there was still the three groups in front of me that haven't teed off the start of the back nine. I wish if there was a kids tournament that the club would let us know or block a couple of hours before the public can play. Otherwise, the place is very up kept. Love the food. We normally play back 9 very early, the course is very well maintained, it's almost too well that we play aside with the maintenance crew. The working staff is doing their best to work with our early birds, it's understandable some times the line is long and have to wait for some time, it won't affect the service and course function. The course is nicely designed and has all the golfing varieties, we lost so many balls following holes and we hunted so many back, my personal put golfer + hunter, less well on golfing and perfect for hunting. We did use the food place a few times, especially playing 18 hole AM, a cold drink and nice prepared sandwich do the trick. it's a very nice course. It's a positive mark for my golfing. read more

Overall a pretty fun course. Greens are in good condition. The main challenge here is how everything is sloped and hilly. Most of your shots will be moderately downhill or uphill. Some of the slopes are severe to the point of punishing otherwise great fairway shots, especially punishing golfers who cannot shape their shots to go against the slope (e.g., a slice or fade will roll off some of the left to right fairways due to rollout). Greens are mostly sloped as well, but rolled true. Being a public course, most did not repair their ball marks, it seems. I would probably not walk this course again, though the pro shop did give me a nice discount not visible when booking online when checking in and declining the cart. Also, the driving range is a bit odd, being irons only and fully exposed to the course without netting. Short game practice area is decent. read more

We had an amazing corporate social event at Bay View Golf Club! My team was impressed! Right from the beginning Phil communicated everything from menus to pictures of the space and prices. It was very easy to book the event and I even received personal confirmation prior to the event and the day of. Chef Kreg put together a yummy menu for our team and DELIVERED! Everything was very delicious and promptly served. Shout out to our bartender, Jordyn!! We had a VERY thirsty crowd and she made delicious drinks quickly to appease my group!! Also, not to mention the space is very pretty, clean and my team LOVED taking pictures inside and outside on the patio overlooking the beautiful golf course. I booked two tee times for 8 senior players. None of us has played this course since it became Bay View. We all played Summit Pointe, the previous name of this course, which we did not like. It has been more than 10 years since we played here and much to our surprise, WE LOVED IT. The senior rate of $55 with cart, small bucket of balls and one free beer cannot be beat. The course was in great shape; good tee boxes, firm and fast greens. There are spectacular views of the bay. The bar/restaurant has been renovate and it is beautiful. The staff was wonderful, a large variety of beers, and excellent garlic fries. This course will be part of our rotation from now on. read more

I've been a regular golfer at Bay View for the past 3 years+. I play at least twice a week. The changes have been remarkable. The price with my membership is a great deal and the service is fantastic. The staff continues to make improvements at every point. The pro shop team is always friendly, helpful and gives me the help I need. It is strange to see others complain about the staff requiring that basic course etiquette and standards are followed. I hope they keep up making this my favorite place to play. read more

I read a lot of negative reviews on Yelp regarding how hard this course is. This was my first time playing here but I was thinking positively. I knew that by the end of the day, I'm going to have a good time. The fairway indeed has a lot of slopes and you'll be hitting your second shot with the ball above or below your feet. As a golfer, you just have to adjust and play the lie where the ball landed. I'm not a scratch golfer and my average score is between 85-95, so I do have a good day and a bad day. I played this course enjoying every hole and always thinking about the next shot and not the shot that I just hit. The fairway is in good condition and the greens are also perfect. The greens are very challenging. We looked at it and we were amazed at how the ball rolled to the cup. It's frustrating to be on the green on 2 or one on par 3 and still three-putt or worst. Some of the holes are challenging and can be hard for beginners. However, the scenic view is awesome and takes a lot of course management. You've to play here to learn the hard and good parts of golf. I will still come here since I knew I will enjoy this course. For those taking the cart, you have to watch out for riding out of bounds. The cart will stop and you've to reverse and get yourself back on the right track It also has a GPS to get yardage on every hole. After the round, we enjoyed a few beers and some chicken wings at their golf snack bar. Their bartender, Kat, was so attentive and provided good service. read more

Got there 5 minutes before tee time and it was already given to a different group. Okay no big deal.... The worker checking us in was super dry and borderline disrespectful.. Okay no biggie right? Now I got to get the cart and the girl checking carts out says " Sorry you cant use the cart in the parking lot" meanwhile im watching other people that were allowed to go to the parking lot. Okay.... this is getting a little weird. Then when I come back with the clubs shes right on top of us looking at what we bring and so close that she can almost open our bags. She asks if we have any alcohol which I state no, since neither of us drank. Now finally she says hey you guys cant play unless each one of you has a bag to "keep up with flow" . I responded that we have two sets of clubs in my one bag. and we are only a group of two not paired with anyone so we can keep up perfectly fine. She stated I would have to pay $40 to rent a bag to be allowed to play. I came 2 days ago and this was not a policy enforced.... To me I felt very stereotyped at this point and it just seems like they had something against us, we came respectful, dressed proper, and following unspoken golfer rules. So the treatment was not appropriate. The worker was named Joseph and he was super rude and did not try to help. The cart girl I didnt catch her name but they both made me feel super uncomfortable that we decidded not to play. I dont recommend this course to anyone just because of the stereotypes. also for their predatory tactics that force you to pay a rediculous price to rent a bag. Even if you have two sets read more
