Matt came very highly recommended to me by some of my coworkers. I'm usually very picky with teachers. I took my time getting to know different teachers before deciding that I wanted to take classes regularly with Matt. I started as a beginner. I'm not trying to brag but I've attached the highest score I've received after just 1 swing analysis and 4 lessons with my 7-iron. Coming from all my balls going severely to the right, never turning, unstable stance, open face path etc. I think I've come a long way just within 4 lessons thanks to Matt. Since I've tried some other teachers, I'll explain what's different from a beginner's perspective. Matt uses a lot of visualization and always explains why something is the way it is; this allows me to make the corrections immediately because I understand why I'm doing something a certain way. He also has the most apparatus out of all the teachers I've met to help understand what a movement should feel like and it's incredibly helpful. But most importantly, I actually think golf is fun after years of thinking that it's a boring sport. Matt is an incredibly dynamic and encouraging teacher. I love that he is so supportive and when you make mistakes, he doesn't get annoyed. My husband who has played golf for a few years comes to my lessons and says Matt is a very good teacher. If you look at my Yelp, you'll know I rarely write reviews but I'm an avid user. I only write reviews for businesses/people I really recommend. I highly recommend Matt if you're looking for a teacher that can help you technically. and really grow your love for the game.

    After

Matt had me hitting the ball about 30 yards farther with double the consistency than when I came in. I'm 2/5 done with my lessons and looking forward to the last 3. Great coaching, great environment, fairly priced; 10/10 experience

    Enjoying golf more

Great spot for lessons. I was referred by a fitter. My GF now has a solid swing and shoots some scores after just 3 lessons. Thank you GG!

You can feel it when rolling in for parking and the parking lots is usually nearly full on weekday mornings before 10am. Very motivating to see small and large groups of folks enjoying their games and Vitamin D sunlight out here. Driving range is always busy and club house area is nice and shady to relax or chill out. Yes, 9-hole games are usually a breeze and easy to walk around, but reaching the 10th hole and afterwards can become much more challenging, especially with long walks. The banquet area has good spaces for events. Gorgeous up there. People tend to speed when driving into the parking lot, so just be cautious. Not far from retailers/restaurants/etc. Very decent. It's the good vibes that keeps me coming back to play with the groups. Nice.

You've now lost my business permanently. The last two weekends I made the mistake of booking tee times at 8:30am and 7:30am on a Saturday. I tried booking an hour earlier the second time to see if it would help, it didn't. My time is too precious after working hard all week and taking care of my family to come and play 5.5 hour rounds, sitting at the tee box for 20-25 min between shots waiting for two groups to clear in front of me. I'd rather driver further and pay more to save an hour of my life and this frustration each weekend. See you again never.

Odd layout with a lot of back and forth between holes. Total yardage is only around 5000-5400 due to 9 par 3s (par 68 course), but long par 5s and distances between a couple of holes make the course deceptively long especially if walking. 3. The local homeless population. Coyote Creek Trail runs through the course and you may see some homeless + their dogs walking along the cart paths adjacent to the creek. I've never had a problem, but one may want to be aware if leaving golf carts unattended. Has a two-tier driving range with range buckets priced similarly to other driving ranges around San Jose, with TopTracer being installed within the past couple of years. Conditions are fair for a muni course. Water features make things interesting. Holes 4, 6, 9, and 18 offer challenges and are my favorites. Pace of play is usually good on the weekdays (3-3.5 hr). Definitely worth playing if you can find a GolfNow deal or twilight. Staff has always been friendly.

What a great golf course!…read more As a Bay Area native, I've always passed this golf course driving in the Almaden area and said, man I want to play there. That day finally happened! I was invited to play for a tournament for a friends company event. I think that this golf course from hole 1-18 is one of the most unique in the Bay Area. I'll highlight 1 section in particular.... The boulder section. You drive through a section of holes where you are taken through a different world. Almost feels like you are on a beautiful excursion in a different country going through these amazingly huge and beautiful boulders. It's almost as if you walked into Star Wars lad at Disney for the first time... except, your on a golf course. I hope that makes sense haha! Super super cool and well designed course with a good amount of challenging holes even for an average golfer! Id recommend this to the public, but it is a private course so you'll have to know someone to get out there. If you do know someone, bring them a gift if they take you out here. It's so worth it! Giving 4 stars because I've played some really really nice golf courses. This place is 4.2-.4.4 in my overall rating. Great job!

We started off at the range, where they gave a trackman style system where you can see how far you hit your shots, which is great if you are trying to dial in your yardage for each of your clubs. The range itself isn't super long, and when I hit my first driver shot, I got a message saying out of bounds, staff notified. Safe to say, I put the driver away for the rest of the practice session lol Now onto the course.... This has to be one of the prettiest courses in the Bay that I've played. I mean the views from virtually every hole provide a look at the unique landscape of its surroundings. It definitely lives up to that boulder in its name because they have beautiful rock formations all over the course that adds to its beauty. As for playing the course, this course is pretty tough! Lots of blind tee shots, narrow fairways, tight greens, it definitely challenges you physically and mentally throughout all 18 holes. The greens were super quick, and rolled true, which honestly for me, are the best type of greens to putt on. If you can score well on this course, you are probably a good golfer. If you aren't a great golfer, bring lots of golf balls lol Also, get a golf cart here because walking up and down these hills would be draining, especially on a hot day. Overall, I loved this course. From the manicured greens and fairways, to its challenging nature, it's definitely a course I can't wait to get to play again.

It was the perfect spot for our group, not too hot, not too cold, with a light breeze coming through. The views were lovely and the freedom to roam onto the courtyard patio was a plus! The Event Coordinator, Miranda, was a pleasure to work with. She was flexible, accommodating, and clear with all arrangements. The ease of having everything done in-house was absolutely wonderful for me. I just showed up two hours before start-time with some decorations and favors, and everything else was already set-up and ready for me. The service was stellar... everyone knew the bartender's name by the end of the night (thank you Elliot for taking care of us) and everyone raved about the food. It was not only delicious, but aesthetically pleasing and plentiful. Everyone in attendance (and even those who missed out) are still talking about the event. The faux leather seats on the cart really heat up under the sun and they transfer the heat very efficiently to your posterior, so be careful. We played the Valley course. It was very long! Lots of 400+ yard par 4 holes. It lies entirely within the southern Santa Clara Valley, so there's little elevation change, but the views are still rather good. I liked the relative lack of hazards, so I didn't lose too many balls. The fairways and greens are in quite good condition, and the greens played somewhat fast, with lots of challenging slopes. The fairways are somewhat narrow, so errant tee shots from other players can hit you if you're not careful.
