Had fun until the end. Our family got 2 whole in ones on the 19th hole. We asked the boys behind the counter to check and they just said no, you guys probably didn't get it. We asked if they can check and they just said no it should make a sound. We have never heard it make a sound. My husband went last month and got a whole in one and the lady was able to check. Really bad customer service this time brought our 3 kids and they were all disappointed, they could have at least checked instead of just laughing behind the counter but can't expect much from a group of young teenage kids. read more

Been here a couple of times for kids birthday parties and always a nice experience with the space and things it has to offer. Key Points: - Nostalgic Family Fun - pizza was meh. - "Famous Thick Shake" was huge, but more like soft serve than any milk shake. Came here with the Fam for a birthday party for one of the Little One's school friends. I swear I haven't been to Golfland in probably 20+ years (maybe even closer to 30. That's how old I am). Glad to see it's still up and running and still a lot of fun. Young children are still a bit too small to really enjoy mini golf, or laser tag, but they had a blast running around and playing the video games. It's great to see that some things about this place haven't changed. The host of the party also purchased game cards for everyone, and each card came loaded with 100 credits. Dang! that's a lot. They were only valid for the video games, and none of the ticket or prize games, which honestly makes sense, as buying in bulk probably comes with a big discount, and no arcade wants you racking up a mountain of prizes off a party package. Still, it worked out fine because the little ones had a blast on the video games, and I even snuck in a round of Space Invaders myself ;) Even for Golfland, I can't write a review without mentioning food. Yes, it was party food, but I'll try to be nice: - Pizza: Cheese, chicken, and Veggie. Choices were great. However, the pizza quality was pretty mediocre. Akin to Little Caesar's. I'd say Chuck E. Cheese, but honestly I've never tried theirs so can't really say. - "Famous Thick Shake": I did go rogue a bit and purchased my own order of this shake that they advertise on the posters. First thing you notice? The size. It's huge! They offer a small and a large, but the "large" is about three times bigger for just $1 more. And that's how they get you to buy the large. At $9 vs. $8, of course you wouldn't order a small! The "shake" is really more like soft serve ice cream in a cup, almost like a McFlurry. I wouldn't try sucking it up through a straw though. That's futile. You get to choose three toppings. I went with two: cookie dough and coconut, which kind of makes a coconut chocolate chip cookie? It was pretty good, though way too much for one person. The Mrs., The Little One, and I together couldn't even finish it. Of note: the receipt labeled it as an "IG Thick Shake," which made me curious. I assumed IG meant instagram. So I hopped onto Instagram and searched "Golfland Thick Shake" to see what the hype was about. Let's just say the search results ended up being NSFW. Not what I was expecting. Overall, Golfland is still a solid spot for birthdays, family fun, and nostalgia. The food isn't why you come, but the golf, games, and sweet treats definitely make it worth the trip. read more

Went here today since we had the chance. We only did 18 holes of miniature golf, but we still had a blast. The price was decent, I guess. We golfed course #2 and there were 2 broken hole in ones as well as a broken ramp for one of the buildings on the course, but overall we had fun. We purchased some nachos, a thick milkshake and a drink. I like how many flavor options there are to choose from on the milkshake menu. The nachos were fine and what you would normally find at places like the movie theater or a small fair/festival. The drink was a soda but I didn't have any. My husband and our kiddo did. read more

Took my kids here today. Golf course was fine, but pricey for what it was. I also felt like this place nickels and dimes you. Had to pay $2 for two cups of tap water and $1 for condiments. Unacceptable. Either have working fountains, working vending machines (vending machines were down) or don't charge for tap water. Also, shouldn't condiments be included with the food? Wonderful place to relax and spend time inside being silly with the kids or a loved one. The arcade inside is too loud and grungy, but it means kids won't be as impressed, either and they'll be more focused on the enchanting little vignettes and fairy houses for the golfing. read more

Sadly, this is not the Golfland that I grew up with. During its golden years, both buildings were filled some of the best arcade games. Fridays and Saturday nights they were filled with young and old duking it out and trying to beat out the high scores (yeah, like you saw in shows like Stranger Things); DDR had lines of people just waiting to show off their feet dexterity. The golf course was pristine and all in working condition. Now... One building is filled with games that are mainly just ticket focused. Get tickets, redeem tickets; high scores, what are those? A lot of the machines are generally broken, others are based off of apps you can play on a phone/tablet. I mean, my sons like going here, so I take them from time to time. Yes this review is written with nostalgia... and the old Golfland probably struggles to succeed nowadays, but man, it was better that what we have now! read more

We celebrated my son's birthday party here and I have to say that we had a great time! Our party host, Justin, was awesome! He was super helpful, understanding, and got our orders out exactly at the time we requested. He even accommodated for what we needed for the day, since it was raining and the kids couldn't finish their full one round of golf. Overall, I could tell that the staff members at this Golfland works really hard as they cleaned tables, brought food out, etc. As far as the food goes, that was tasty as well- from the pizzas, to the nachos, and sampler platter. In terms of the facility itself, it is definitely outdated, but features many classic games that we used to see when I was growing up. They're simple, fun, and reasonably priced. Plus, where else can you find a place that offers mini golf, laser tag, bumper cars, arcade, and a laser maze? There's just a variety of play and fun that you can do. Altogether, we enjoyed our experience here and so did the kids. This is definitely a place to check out for a birthday celebration that offers a variety of activities, with food you can order while the kids play, and all tableware included, with a host that helps you along the way. It's been a few years since I've last visited Golfland, but I came the last 2 Fridays as a reward outing for the high readers in my class. The kids collectively chose Golfland as their preferred destination, and I was happy to oblige. Mini golf is a bit pricey now at $15 per adult and $14 per child. However, if you go in the morning right at opening it's pretty empty until about 11 when more people start coming. I got a chance to play Course 2 (which was filled with a lot of "volcanoes") and Course 3 (which had a lot of ramps). It was interesting because the first time I went the scanner for the golf ball machine worked, but the following Friday it was out of operation so we ended up picking our golf ball from a box that they had. Since we came right at opening the staff were still cleaning up the courses, so there were some holes that had a ton of leaves/rocks/debris that we cleared off ourselves. We also did find a few extra balls hanging around which helped because a few of our balls got stuck in some of the contraptions. It took about 90 minutes for 4 of us to finish the 18 holes. The boys I went with wanted to play bumper cars, and they enjoyed themselves despite being the only 3 cars. It cost $8/per kid for about 5ish minutes for the first ride. The second ride was $5 each but we opted to have lunch first. The laser maze that the kids were initially interested in was not working when we visited. The food selection is simple and there's a little bit of something for everybody. What was interesting is both times we went there was some sort of error with our order, but the staff was very quick to upgrade or make another order and bring it over to us. The most recent Friday we went there was a massive birthday party going on, but they managed to service us in reasonable fashion. There was a good variety of arcade games available to play as well. The kiddos I went with spent a little over an hour trying out the games. We loved the four player ice hockey with a ton of pucks that came cascading down at two different points during the game. The kids also enjoyed picking prizes for their tickets, and while part of me missed the nostalgia of real tickets, it definitely made for an easier exchange to have them virtually added to the card. We had our 12 year olds Birthday here in December. Completely exceeded my expectations the young staff were so fun full of energy, great attitudes and so Tentative! We booked the room and had so much room, space for the younger kids to run around without worry. We did the laser tag and boy was it fun for kids & us adults. The golf course was very clean and safe. I love Golfland, it's such a nostalgia trip for me but this location in particular exceeds expectations. 3 courses ranging in difficulty, the most difficult really does pose a challenge. They have laser tag, bumper cars and a nice selection of ticket games and a few non ticket games. The prizes here are the best I've seen at any Golfland and honestly better than the prizes at D&B for a fraction of the cost to achieve the high ticket values. All those great things listed pale in comparison to the manager Scott, he is friendly, he cares about the course, the games and most importantly the guests in the establishment. I credit Scott with the great prize selection and just making the experience that much better when he's there. My fiance and I go exclusively to this location because of how well we've been treated by Scott. Do yourself a favor if you want to play some mini golf, laser tag or some ticket games and visit this location. Say hi to Scott, I'm sure he will be happy to greet you with a smile. read more

Highly recommend! My son's birthday was such a blast. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed kids and parents. Right when we went in to make the reservation to how seamlessly things were handled over email to finalize the menu and arrangements, everything was done well. On the day of the party, we had everything set up in advance and one person assigned to help us. He was quick and super helpful. The place itself is clean and we got lucky with the weather. I remember 2 years ago on the app, there was a special deal for party of 4, but probably due to covid, it's no longer there. Now, it's just regular admission and depending which hour of the day you go, prices will differ but not by much. Just a few bucks. Out of all the locations for Golfland, I still think Milpitas is the best. It looks bigger and more spread out. There are 3 courses here. Course 1 is the most challenging, Course 2 on the easier/beginner level, and Course 3 being in the middle. It did look like they added more decorations during Covid because there were some things I didn't remember seeing before. The place looks prettier now too with all the fountains on. Before, they hardly turned them on. A side note - floorings are a little worn out and holes are a bit dirty. Sometimes, there are ants inside the holes and we did see a cockroach on the side. But regarding the bugs, we are outdoors, so it shouldn't be too much of a shock. Definitely block off about 3 hours for this place. We came here a few hours before closing but definitely not enough time. We were also rushed by the workers to head to the exit by 9:48PM. Plan ahead! read more

I haven't been here in a dog's age, but it's long overdue and wanted to show my daughter. Golfland in Castro Valley and this location to an extent were a big part of my childhood. A lot of it is closed down due to COVID, but the actual mini course is still open. Staff is friendly and it wasn't very busy which was great. I've been coming to this place since I was a kid. No joke, I've played mini golf here at least 10 times. Each time I have an amazing time with my friends. They have 3 varying courses with 18 holes each. This time I did course 3 with my friends. We had a big group of 9, so we went through the holes pretty slowly, but the nostalgia is still there! Playing mini golf here brings back so many childhood memories from some of my friends accidentally putting their balls into the lake to completely getting lucky with hole in one's. I did take off one star since some of the holes are a bit worn down. I noticed some places where they could repaint to make the experience more lively and repatch up the fake grass/floor. We found that this place was open during covid. It was recommended that we buy tickets online ahead of time and also face mask is required. The weekends cost a little bit more than the weekdays. We arrived here around 11:17 am on Sunday. There was hardly anyone around. They have arcades, laser tag and bumper cars but unfortunately those areas were closed. There are three courses. We decided to do course #1. The course was nice, clean and well kept. It took us about 51 mins to finish. We both had a good time. Pros: Good variety of games for younger children, affordable for post pandemic prices , 2 out of 3 of the card reload machines worked, friendly staff, saw them disinfecting equipment twice over the 1.5 hours we were there, at least one super friendly employee who helped us with our prize redemptions and the bumper cars, plenty of parking, pretty close to the freeway exit & almost had the entire place to ourselves today (Friday, Sept 30th) Cons: Prize selection was not as good as Boomers in Livermore and for the $30 we spent in games my 6 year old should have been able to get more than a few mini laffy taffy's & a stuffy We didn't buy food since we had just come from lunch & skipped the golf, so I cannot comment on either of those, but all and all a good time was had read more

We used to come here when we were kids. This past weekend was the first time back after many years. Was looking for an activity for my niece's birthday and found out Golfland is open! During COVID face masks are required and it's recommended to buy tickets online ahead of time. I don't think you need to reserve a time slot anymore but the tickets are for different parts of the day. Weekends are a little more then the weekdays but a fun activity for under $15 a person. The courses weren't too busy for a Saturday around 11am. Most families kept their social distance on the courses. A few families were standing a little too close in line inside where you get the golf clubs and balls. Limited to less than 8 people per group during COVID. 3 different courses to choose from. 1 is the easiest, 3 is the hardest. We did course 1. Had a lot of fun and the grounds looked pretty new. Not sure if they were redone recently. The dragons are still there to try and win a free game at the end with a hole in one. read more

Woah, inflation is real! Price for one round of 18-holes is now $15/person. Seems a little steep to me for basic mini golf. Nothing about these courses are particularly special to warrant such a high price. Came on a Sunday night around 9 PM. We knew the place closed at 10 PM -- we just didn't like how the employees started shutting down lights and mechanics at 9:50. We were on a hole trying to quickly wrap up before 10 and all of a sudden the mechanical ramp stopped working! That left a bad taste in our mouthes given when we bought the tickets at the counter the cashier didn't warn us of any early shut down (again, we knew the place closed at 10 PM, so give us until 10 to finish..). At 9:55 PM, a couple employees came up to up on the golf course and rudely and sternly said, "last hole," as if they were unappreciative of us playing until closing. I understand they are not getting paid past 10 PM, but sheesh, have some hospitality and kindness towards patrons. Customer service could be improved insurmountability. They just lost a customer and I will not be coming back. read more

My friend and I came here today and got the package deal (golf, laser tag, and bumper cars for $27) and we are BEAT. It really brought the kid out in us and enjoyed every second. We also had pizza- which surprisingly was tasty. I was expecting cardboard quality to be honest. The only downside (?) is that the employees were very, very dry. Only one person we interacted with smiled at us. Otherwise, dead fish eyes all around. Hopefully they find a job that makes them happy! Overall super fun day. read more
