Hands-on Art Adventures is a well chosen name that describes the wide variety of things available to do at this centre. Although just opened (in Jan11), there are already many different experiences on offer - organised at various times of the week. Within the last month, I've now been twice with my children. At one session we chose pottery painting and were provided with a selection of designs, lots of colours and painting tools to add interesting touches to the models. There's a professional kiln installed on site which is run after your work is dipped in glaze, then a few days later the finished figurines looked great. At our second visit, we tried acrylic painting on canvas with the theme of copying an abstract style. This was a clever approach to introducing a particular art movement and artist to my children who were encouraged to create their own interpretation of the style. Grown-ups are encouraged to join in, but this was when I realised my children are much better artists than I am!

One of the employees sat us at a table to be later told to move because that table was reserved. The first 15 min left a bad taste in my mouth and yet decided to be patient when we finally got seated. I had decided that if the service continued the way it did - we would walk away. Fortunately, Karolena introduced herself as the server and from that point on everything was excellent. She was joyful, prompt, courteous, respectful and made sure we were well attended to. The pizzas we ordered were excellent - the one ingredient I didn't care for were the capers but everything else was wonderful. Thank you Karolena for the amazing service you provided and hope the management is able to train the remaining staff to be as service oriented as you are.

Walk up the stairs from the train platform, walk back down on the other side, walk through half a parking lot and you are there. I made a wrong turn, and walked 2 miles to the other Holiday Inn...not the right one. The other great thing that since you are close to the train station, you can hop on the train to Windsor. You will need to hop the train to Windsor, because there isn't a restaurant in site of this place. Windsor is the touristy side, however, if you get there late, like I did, only the grocery store is open- Waitrose. But other restaurants and shopping are there and Windsor castle. The Windsor train only goes to Windsor and Slough and back; no other places. Also icky: at the time, no Wifi. No joke. No wifi. I only had my phone with me, and couldn't get the internet... I can't remember if they had Ethernet for your laptop, but I am thinking no. Double-check on that. Room was clean and modern. This place is fairly new. Shower only. Bed- a little hard. Service was good. Took a taxi to Heathrow, as you would have to take a train all the way back to London and then down to airport. No other transportation. Good: Room newer. Front desk pleasant, a little slow when overwhelmed in the morning. Bad: No restaurants or food nearby; no wifi, no easy way to get to the airport, minus a taxi ride
