WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE. SCAM This was a last minute one night booking and after looking at its website and google reviews, they have to be fake. Before I even knew the name of the hotel I was staying at I knew I wasn't allowed to have weed or guns inside. Seriously. There was at least 10 signs saying what wasn't allowed in their hotel. During the check in process the employee said there was a $50 hold on top of the room (okay normal). Then she finished the transaction and as we were about to walk away she said "marijuana is not allowed on property. You can smoke outside but you have to leave it outside. If we think you had marijuana in your room or smoked in your room it will be $150." No where online is this policy stated and she said that after running our card. The bathroom of my room wasn't properly cleaned so we didn't shower. The curtains in the room did not fully close. Only the very thin see through lien on curtains closed. This did not prevent the three giant lights from the parking lot from shining in the room all night. And allowed for us to change in the very small bathroom. When my partner went to get ice/water he was followed by security. Security kept asking what he was doing and that he could buy water at the vending machine. RENTERS OF COLOR BEWARE !!This hotel discriminates against people of color! Upon checking in during my first stay at this hotel I was notified that I could only stay for a maximum of five nights after that I would be subjected to leave the hotel and not return for Several weeks to a couple months , I decided to stay for four nights and check out on the fifth day after which I checked in to another hotel, I was pleased with the room itself, and again the cleanliness that I decided to return to the hotel for a second stay of four nights, During one of the days I was present, I enjoy breakfast with an older Caucasian woman who disclosed that she had been a guest at the hotel for several weeks Which I thought was odd because I was told the maximum amount of days a person could stay with five nights at a time This time upon checking out on the fifth day of my stay, I asked for a late check out at 1 PM by 12:45. The front desk attendant called my room and asked if I was checking out which I responded to her and said yes at 1 PM... At approximately 1:03 PM, the front desk attendant was knocking on the door I opened it, and she was standing there looking at me with a peculiar facial expression I asked her what was the issue she told me that everything was fine. I proceeded to the front desk to collect my hundred dollar cash deposit and I checked out.... On my third attempt to stay at the hotel I was told I'm no longer able to rent due to "suspicious activity" I asked the manager what she meant by suspicious activity, She was unable to disclose exactly what was said in notes that would prohibit me from renting again... So I oppose the question what happened that I'm not able to rent? Again, she refused to disclose any information So I asked her why was my deposit released to me during my previous stay if I was suspected of suspicious activity In which she replied that I'm not saying that you did anything suspicious in your room.. So I again asked what she meant! At this point, I became livid because I booked my reservation through a third-party company and it was nonrefundable! I asked her if it was an issue that I went outside to smoke? She said no, I asked her if it was a problem because my boyfriend stayed over with me a couple of nights during my stay and she reply no.. At this point, I began to feel discriminated against as a woman of color because I brought to her attention. The Caucasian woman that has been staying there long-term she Said nothing And walked to the back... At this point, I have contacted Baymont and submitted a formal concern and complaint with this specific property and the front desk staff, including the manager who did not disclose what suspicious activity I was accused of, ... If the issue was that, I returned after leaving At the completion of the fourth night And returning a day later, then she could have simply said that instead using a bogus reason as suspicious activity without providing any explanation is unacceptable, The front desk staff needs to undergo additional training when working with the public read more

Reviews for this hotel are higher on another review site, which I why I booked. Should've read here first; lesson learned. Anyway, it is apparent that there were some pretty substantial updates recently, which is good. A few outstanding omissions are the carpeting in the halls and the room I was in, and the chair and bolster pillows in the room which were clean but very dated (1970s?). But the common areas were clean, and the room was especially clean. The housekeepers are apparently quality people. Bed was on the very soft side of comfortable. Some backs would not have tolerated such a soft (worn out?) bed. But I slept pretty well in it. Pillows and sheets were decent. There are clearly ongoing issues at this location with trashy guests. There are multiple signs warning against cannabis use in the hotel, which should be obvious but I guess not. Shout out to Alsip's fine police officers who had to come at about 7:30 am and deal with some bottom of the barrel guests during breakfast. Truly, thanks guys! As for breakfast, it is typical budget hotel waffles and stale pastries. Location is convenient to the highway, but not really near to any decent restaurants (and not walkable to any, for sure -- best is a gas station across the street). So today i had an inconvenience with this hotel. I stayed here before with no issues until today. I came here today to get a few hours or rest before my flight and the front desk manager LUIS SALGADO denied my money and stay there due to whatever was linked on my number. I have no idea what he was talking about but he denied my stay and stopped the conversation at that moment. This is very much discrimination and this never happened to me before. I stayed here at a discounted rate for a special event being held at nearby Christ Universal Temple. My room was nice and clean, and smelled fresh. The bathroom just had a couple of cracks by the wall, but no other issues with that. Breakfast was very good. Thank you to the friendly staff as well! The only little complaint I have is when I booked, I asked for an email confirmation to be sent just in case, but it never went through. I called and asked again a few days after booking and gave a different email address, but still nothing. The staff who I spoke with said that it may get sent to the spam folder, but I saw nothing there either for the next week until my trip. Despite that, I had no hassles with checking in; I just gave the front desk my name, and that was that. read more

Great hotel and great location in the Suburbs of Chicago. I got a great deal off of Trivago.com for only $90 a night at this place. Plus honestly this is the best place in the area unless you want to stay at a ghetto motel which charges by the hour. Just stay here trust me you won't regret it. I got a suite and it had a couch, jacuzzi, great relaxing lighting in the room, and of course free WiFi. The breakfast is from 7-10 and is convenient. There's just something about a yummy waffle to start your morning. There's tons of seating so sleep in and grab some coffee. I-294 is just down the street so you have access to downtown in minutes as well. Decent gas station just 100 meters away if you need gas before taking off as well. Overall great deal for a great place settled outside Chicago. read more

I stayed here while visiting for my son's college orientation. We drove and took our two beagles along. We had to get a pet room which was nice as it was on the 1st floor in the back end of the hotel. There was no carpet (a plus) and the room was clean and renovated. We took advantage of the complimentary breakfast---with waffles. The only problem was our room was a king w/no sofa bed, but they did provide a roll away bed. WARNING TO DISABLED TRAVELERS:: This hotel is not ADA compliant. Pet friendly rooms are NOT available for the disabled. I had to stay in a regular room -- it was an emergency situation -- and the very high bed is an extreme challenge. The shower is completely unusable for me. It has no bars or bench. It doesn't even have non-slip strips at the bottom. I will be reporting the hotel for ADA violations. You can't advertise yourself as "pet friendly, except if you are disabled." Otherwise, this is a nice hotel. But, if you care about people with physical challenges, please do not support this discrimination. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 11 days as our home was going through renovations. Our bed was made daily, much appreciated; no one bothered our things; much appreciated and most importantly Marijuania (since it's now legal) no rollin, vaping, smoking of any kind is allowed. I've stayed here twice in the last two years only because the hotel is close to the facility I needed to be at. If you are looking for a place to 'crash' and you are for whatever ungodly reason in the area, this place will suit you just fine. If you have higher standards, then, you might look elsewhere. The facility is very limited service and is dated. My minimal interaction with the staff was pleasant and they seemed nice, but the place just needs a renovation. The rooms were standard (2 fulls), bathroom is extremely small (with the sink outside of the bathroom), tvs are still the big boxy ones, decor is prairie themed still - which was cool... if we were in the 90s. Breakfast had no hot items aside from waffles. All else was boxed cereal, yogurt, bagels, juice and coffee. read more

This place has BED BUGS and customer service by the General Manager was completely atrocious!!! I booked this hotel or 4 days to visit family and friends in the area, my 11 yr old sister stayed with me the first night and got bitten all over her legs and fingers, but she didn´t tell me until she heard me talking to the manager two days later because she wasn´t sure if they were bed bugs. On the second day, I woke up to small bites on my fingers but didn´t think much of it because neither of us have never been bitten by bed bugs. On the third night, I woke up in the middle night with an overwhelming itch on my leg and when I reached down, I felt it. I right away got up and turned on the lights and saw them!! I woke up my husband and search the bed and found another one crawling on the bed near the head area. This happened around 1 a.m. and immediately notified the front desk and asked to speak to the manager, I was told that I had to wait until the next day when she gets in and there was nothing further that they can do. My husband and I ended up booking another hotel right away and immediately left. To make this experience even worse, when my husband and I spoke with the General Manager (GM), she was very defensive and even suggested that we probably brought these bugs ourselves and asked us to show her proof that they were bed bugs, we were utterly shocked by her statements and made us feel as though we brought this to ourselves. I told Candace (aka Candy), the GM, that my bites and blood stain left by the bugs when I killed them on the bed should be more than enough proof and if she wanted to see the bugs, that they were in the garbage bin with the kleenex that I killed them with. Later that day Candace F. called me saying that they had a pest control person come to check the room and THEY CONFIRMED BED BUGS in the room, and for this reason, they would ONLY refund 1 night out of the 4 nights. This whole trip was completely awful and disappointing to say the least. I travel frequently for work, and this is by far the worst experience I've ever encountered. I shared this experienced with my family and friends in the Chicagoland area to make sure this hotel is not recommended to anyone they know. This place is horrible! They triple charged me for the room so paid $400 for a $100 one night stay then gave me trouble trying to get my refund. Ended up waiting hours so them to attempt to fix a problem, wasted my whole evening with my family to resolve the problem and have to find a room elsewhere. While this was easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, I felt like it was exactly what I expected for the price. I mean, you're 20 min south of midway in not a great area and it cost under $100 a night. What did you expect??? There's free wifi, breakfast (including waffles), and acceptable rooms. My girlfriend and I traveled out to the Chicago, and were assigned this gem by priceline.com. We were first disappointed to learn that this "Greater Chicago Area" hotel was a 40 minute train ride on the commuter rail from downtown. Since we were here for a vacation, it was quite disappointing to face a long commute as if it were a day job. Nonetheless we plugged ahead with our trip and took the train out after our first lovely day in the city. Then the nightmare began. It was rainy out, and earlier in the day my girlfriend inquired "so how do we use the shuttle" and the desk person said " oh its easy. just call 10 minutes ahead of time and it will pick you up". We get out to Aslip , IL (where is that?) and call for the shuttle. It is raining and thundering outside...the desk clerk says "oh it wont be available for 45 minutes"..................... since we are in the rain, we decide to take the hit and pay for a cab. We ask the desk clerk " do you know any cab services that could get us". We thought being a service-oriented business, they would compensate the lack of shuttle by at least organizing alternative transportation. Instead , we get the phone numbers of some local taxi services that also give us "45 minutes or so" until a cab can come. We bit the bullet and waited for the shuttle.. We finally get to the room, and notice some flooding in the bathroom. Eh, lets just get through it. Its not bad, not even worth complaining....big mistake! Later in the night we hear some mysterious water sounds, and wake up to serious flooding in the bathroom. All over the floor. We call the desk, and they can't even move our room because the hotel is booked. In the morning, we ask for a refund and they refuse. They did at least give us a shuttle back to the commuter line. After some serious fights with priceline, they agreed to transfer us to a downtown hotel at a higher rate. Bottom line: - Dont select "Greater Chicago Area" as an option for your priceline hotels, you will regret it! - If you can, avoid this hotel! read more

I witnessed a sting operation from the local police while checking in. The hotel staff reported that they often "participate" in these types of operations....while unbeknownst guests are staying there. Doesn't feel safe or quiet. 3. The smell of mildew and strong "cover-up" chemicals to cover it made the stay difficult to say the least. 4. Cleanliness..no 5. The first time I visited was before they remodeled. What a pleasant surprise to go back 2 years later and find how much they'd updated the place, clean carpet that looks new? Yay! My room had a fridge, microwave and they leave more than one coffee packet. Ok so the Little things count. Lastly, one thing did not change: the staff! Every person at the front desk as well as the cleaning ladies always had a smile and asked if everything was fine when I'd leave or come in. I needed to have some things printed last minute and would've been late by logging in downstairs so I called the front desk. She said email it and it was waiting when I got downstairs. I was a bit skeptical staying here because of the sub-par reviews but I decided to keep an open mind. Not bad! For the area this hotel is pretty affordable so I was happy with that. Came in at about 1:30/2pm expecting to get a "sorry house keeping isn't finished cleaning yet" but nope! Walked right in to my room! The front desk was kind and helpful. The rooms are pretty basic. Yes, definitely outdated, but overall manageable. Not the prettiest of sights but if you're just needing a night to crash, it fairs well. The bed was pretty comfy, so I was happy with that. Bathroom was fine, no leaks or anything. I loved having the large vanity and sink outside the bathroom so I could do my hair and makeup while someone else showered, etc. Lots of room overall. The area isn't the best but it's not the worst. Best part is that you're right on Cicero which means lots to chose from for food and it's off of 294, which is convenient! Didn't use the shuttle but I'm sure if you make plans ahead of time it will be worth the use! Overall it's a very basic hotel, comfy beds, clean, needs some updates, but it's fine for a night's stay. read more

We stayed one night in the baymont when the power was out in our house. The room smelled strongly of stale smoke (only smoking rooms available), and mildew. The carpet was damp and felt gross on our feet. Even our dog would not lie down on it. From the gross room to the broken vending machines, I give this place a generous 1 star. read more

This hotel was by far the worst place I have stayed, luckily we were only there for one night. We stayed on the second floor and the moment we got off the elevator, we were hit with an intense mildew smell. During our short stay we shared a room with spiders on the wall and the big kicker was the ant infestation! We had them crawling all over our nightstand and in our bed in the morning. We immediately packed up and left. When this was reported to the manager I was given this response... " you had crackers out so did you expect that there wouldn't be ants?" "There is nothing we can do for you but give you a discount on your next stay.." as if we'd ever dream of stepping foot back in that place!! This is actually my second time around. My first visit was back in Jan 2016, is was decent and comfy. To be honest i expected just about the same. I was in awe as soon as i stepped into the lobby, this place is completly different now. The lobby y being renovated, the carpet on all floors were replaced, and the rooms are amazing. I couldnt stop talk about it with my husband. The furniture made the room look so modern and it took that hotel room feel away, and it almost made you feel like your at home. The bed couldnt have been more comfortable. The bathroom was breath taking, a walk in shower ( no tub) was pretty cool. The sink area made you feel like you were at a lounge with the modern lighting. I cant express enough of impressed i am. They will check you in early if you call in before hand and ask. Otherwise check-in is at 3pm. Check-out at 12pm. The front desk is very helpful, the day and night shift. Breakfast is from 6am-9am. Plenty of parking space. Im very happy and satisfied. I will be staying here on all my Alsip trips. read more

A week ago I went in to get some sleep. The room quietness is horrible. All I heard were doors. No one cares at the front desk.

I loved my stay here. Very clean rooms and the breakfast was good and a nice variety of choices. The maid service was competent, helpful and nice. The staff at the front desk was very courteous and nice. Even though there was a bad storm one of our 7 nights we stayed; the staff was trying hard to accomodate the guest. I have to give a huge thank you to MORGAN and NICOLE, these two young ladies were awesome and so nice, kind, and really helpful!!The location of the Baymont is excellent, it is near anything you might need. We were excited when we first came in the room but hours later we discovered ants in the room. All over the tables and counters. FyI food was only left for 2 hours AND it was in a container. The hotel having ants just shows me how cheap someone has gotten on pest control and based off the comments I've already read looks like this sint the 1st complaint. We brought it to maintainemce attention 1st thing he said was did we leave food out? It shouldn't matter if we did for a few hours not overnight. Then our remote control didn't work...we asked front desk and they gave us a one that had to be wiped off (Still Corona) after telling them twice. Then the heater/air conditioner unit didn't work and you cannot open any windows bc all of them have locks on them so needless to say we won't be coming back. You don't get the quality of room for what you pay for. Rooms like this in this hotel should be much cheaper for whats offered. Absolutely terrible! !!!!!!! Staff is stuck up and ignorant, kept saying that they would bring extra things needed up to my room and TOTALLY kept blowing me off..and then gave ME an attitude when i kept reminding them. They totally insulted me, we stayed with our children and the hallway reeked of pot and there were condoms thrown in the parking lot. Really??? Check in was awful. Front desk clerk was rude and full of attitude. I was scolded about keeping the noise in our room down before I even checked in. I am not a child. We are all adults. The lecture was unnecessary and left me feeling very uneasy about our choice in hotels. With this reception I would have cancelled my reservation and gone elsewhere but our group had several rooms booked that evening so I bit my tongue. The rooms served their purpose. We didn't spend much time in the rooms as our plans took us out for the evening. The breakfast was lacking so we opted to go out for breakfast after checking out. Location was good for us. Deplorable customer service. I mistakenly reserved a room using their website for that night instead of my desired date. I called the hotel and the front desk said they can't do anything about it since reservations cannot be canceled within 24hrs. I was kept on hold for nearly 45 minutes to speak with a manager. They hung up on me twice. I called corporate customer service and they too stonewalled me saying they can't do anything. I've stayed at this hotel 180 nights since Januar. My mother had a stroke and is in Nursing home 4 blocks away but had horrible personal experience. The General manager Candy shouldn't be allowed to deal with the public. From the first day the way she talks to "everyone" is rude and condescending. I'm a Diamind member but there would days that the hotel was half full but instead of getting Diamond upgrade would be told couldn't do the upgrade. I've heard her talk to employees new employees in such a derogatory state that I had to say you shouldn't talk to people like that it's severe turn over there and no one likes her including but not limited to everyone that works there. I called and talked to the owners but that does no good they basically allow her to run the place like she owns it. She's not professional and allows personal feelings to affect the way she manages the hotel Amy should be the general manager who's extremely Pleasant Everyone likes and the hotel does not appreciate customers that a long-term and spend good money there they treat them like someone who just came in for one night and the staff there is burned out and ready to quit. Go to the DoubleTree right up the street or the Holiday Inn Express where your money will be appreciated. read more

We booked this hotel for our wedding back in July and it seemed like we were getting a good deal for our guest. I made sure that everything was scheduled the day before so that things would go smoothly. We came into a few problems when the actual wedding day arrived. There was apparently two wedding parties using the shuttle to get guest to and from the wedding and they completely overbooked the shuttle for the same times. They should have hired another bus since they overbooked. Our wedding was 20 minutes late because our officiant wasn't able to get to our venue on time since the shuttle was late. Apparently, the groom from the other wedding was left behind. On the way home, the shuttle arrived at the time it said it would pick us up, but wasn't able to fit all the guests that were waiting. I asked them to go back and get the other guests and the driver put his fingers up in a "pay me first" action. I was super disappointed with this, since our guest paid more money to have shuttle included in their stay. I rooms smelled bad and our "suite" was nothing to brag about. Outdated blankets and there was a dirty sock under the coffee table. The only good thing about this room was the Jacuzzi tub, it was huge. I will not be staying at this hotel or recommending it to anyone again. read more

I decided to chance the Baymont after a friend commented bad on it. I always have had listening problems, but I couldn't find a close to good thing to say.
