I wish I had found this place years ago! Nice accommodations and fabulous staff. And of course, the chocolate chip cookies served warm. I found this gem when looking for a hotel that would allow me to leave my care on the premises until I return. They have a stay and park program that I love. I stay the first night, catch the airport shuttle the next morning, and leave my car. No more paying to park a couple miles away and waiting on the shuttle bus to get there to pick us off or drop us off. When you return from your trip, you catch the free Doubletree hotel shuttle back to your car, get in your car, and leave. No need to check back in with the front desk. The shuttles to and from the airport are complimentary. Just give your driver a nice tip. read more

The DoubleTree by Hilton in Alsip Illinois is a hard place to review. There are some good things to note but these positive attributes are outweighed by the negatives. Let me start with the good stuff. The rooms were quite nice. To be honest, this is NOT a 4 star hotel, so do not expect a Ritz Carlton. But the furniture and the furnishings were quite nice and new. The towels were thick and heavy. The toiletries were very nice and plentiful. Likewise, the lobby is nicely done and big enough to handle lots of people at one time. We stayed at the hotel because of a big event/meal and, I have to say the event and food there were really good. The ballroom was nicely appointed and the food was very tasty (a hard thing to do when you're feeding about 300 people). But the hotel event staff ran a tight ship and I noticed a fair number of people going back through the buffet line for seconds. That is a good sign. Okay now to the bad stuff. The front desk staff were not very friendly or helpful. They looked at you, if they did at all, like you were bothering them. Housekeeping was sub-par; slow and they did not really clean anything. The bar and the dining room were also not good. The food in the bar and the breakfast in the dining room were not worth going back for at all, ever! One final thing to note is that the hotel is isolated in an area that is not so nice. Surrounding businesses are not interesting, there are no good restaurants and there is no place to shop if that is your thing. The hotel itself might be worth a 4 star rating here but the negative aspects drag it down to a 3 star review. Do I recommend this hotel? No. read more

I had a very nice experience during my stay here. Check in was easy. Customer service was pleasant. They gave me warm chocolate and walnut cookies that were absolutely scrumptious! This hotel is way bigger than what it looks like on the outside. Access to the room was easy. Our room was neat and clean. I like the fact that they have more than one elevator and building access door so it made it faster to get to and from the parking lot. I appreciated the complementary check out at noon as well! Honestly the only issue I had was the bed and pillows. The mattresses were so bouncy and springy and just felt old. The pillows might as well not even exist. They look okay, but once you lay your head on them, they go flat QUICK! I had to fold my pillow just to get some elevation. With the name hilton on the front of the building, they should definitely consider replacing and/or upgrading these things. read more

We booked this hotel for one night and the stay was horrible. yes we checked in late but instead of just saying there were no rooms available we were given a room that smelled like smoke, no working toilet and no working refrigerator. We booked in advance of our stay so Im not sure why we were given the bottom of the barrel room. we were not offered a refund because they said we booked through a third party. literally having to leave the room to use a restroom that works. unable to flush the toilet and the toilet just runs. we were offered complimentary breakfast for a room we paid 300 for for one night. we were told nothing could be done until tomorrow. well thankfully we check out tomorrow. i do not recommend this hotel. we stayed in room 113 read more

This hotel isn't that bad, considering how old it looks. However, it does need some renovations. Our room was comfortable and clean. The only issue we had was that my husband found his backpack was all wet. He had set it on the floor against the bathroom wall, and when we checked, we saw that the carpet was soaking wet. Looks like there's a water leak in the bathroom that's causing the problem. They definitely need to fix that soon! The staff member who assisted us with our check-in was exceptionally kind. This hotel is a bit pricey, considering its distance from the city, and there is no complimentary breakfast. We stayed only because of a hockey tournament. Advertised on Google as being "4 stars".....I think not. For the price I paid per night, extremely disappointed. Check in staff were kind and the cookie was delicious. The hallways had an odor and don't get me started on the elevator (might as well take the stairs you'll be waiting so long, which we in fact did multiple times). The room was dingy- the shower head was crusty, found someones medicine foil wrapper next to the bed, during the night our fitted sheet kept riding up which led to the bare mattress being exposed which was stained and gross. Room temperature made it to 72 after 3 hours. Front desk poorly trained, asked about switching to a room on the other side of the hotel and was told that I was already on the quiet side. A visit in early January 2026. It's cold outside obviously, and so was the shower water temperature. I reported it at 8:30 pm and the desk attendant said "the engineer was on the way to my room. If it can't be fixed, we'll move you." Problem is my wife and son were asleep. Thirty minutes later I followed up and the attendant says, "the chief engineer says the problem is outside the room. Wait 15 minutes." I waited over an hour. No hot water; no follow-up from the staff. read more

Staff was friendly and helpful. The free shuttle from Midway was nice but the location of the hotel makes it hard to get around without a car. The bus is an okay option. There are no sidewalks surrounding the hotel and the area so walking anywhere is not an option. Overall the room was clean but the mini fridge could've used a little more attention. The event I attended was great and the staff accommodated the needs of the event planners. Many other events were happening the same day but that didn't affect the day. This is a much better option than the hotels in the surrounding area and I would recommend staying here. read more

It was a plain hotel. It was close to where we were headed so it fit the bill. Their gimmick is cookies and as a tip, go ahead and ask them for more, they were very generous about saying yes to our tired old selves. Clean bedding and standard service. Let me start by saying that if I could leave ONES STAR, I really would. This is an over priced , RAN DOWN motel! The price per night does not match the quality of the rooms. When I got to my room, I settled into the small space and decided to take a shower. The tub was clogged and the water pooled, and didn't drain for about an hour. When I woke up the next morning, I opened the curtains to let some sunlight in. As I pulled back the curtains, black mold greeted me with the sunlight (absolutely disgusting). I instantly called downstairs and requested to be moved, as I had already paid and planned to stay two nights. They moved me about 7 rooms down where the carpet was dirty and reeked of marijuana smoke! I called down the speak to the manager and he wanted to come up to "look at the room" as if I was lying about it not being properly cleaned. He asked would I like for housekeeping to come back in and take care of my issues, and my response was , "in the middle of a pandemic "? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! The manager on duty offered to credit the disgusting $15 dollar brownie I ordered through room service for my troubles. Umm, no! His response to the mold in my room was that some of the rooms were closed due to Covid, and they are aware some had mold but didn't know which ones.. WHAT?!? So when cleaning, housekeeping doesn't pull back the curtains to clean the window? I will NEVER stay here again! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this raggedy, ran down MOTEL! Bathroom was clean and smelled clean. King bed room on first floor. Layout was bad for more than 1 person. Huge entertainment center with desk spanned the entire one side of the room. Desk chair was the only chair in the room. Couldn't push in the desk chair arms too high so it blocked access to one side of the room and bed. Restaurant was closed even though they verified it would be open when we booked. 2nd person had to eat in bed. Other guests were very rude - left room doors open at opposite ends of the hallway and children chased and screamed running through the hallway and in/out of rooms. Go outside. Adults yelled down the hall at each other. Management did nothing. Started at 7 am and went on until 11pm. Supposed to be no dog hotel and barking dog in nearby room which owners took to go by the tree outside of our room and bark. Same guests with the open doors and shrieking children. Management did nothing. Don't travel on holidays. Moved to another hotel. Do not recommend. read more

November 16,2021. Im diamond (for life) and was assigned to a room on the honors floor by the hotel. When asked about my arrival Time I said 3. All good. Arrived at 3. The room they assigned to me wasn't ready. They indicated there was only 2 rooms available at this large hotel.... Told me honestly up front neither would be as nice as the room I was assigned. I took room 126. There was a pretty inflated gold balloon (see pic) on the floor, so was the room thoroughly cleaned and sanitized?? We needed a last minute hotel room on Sunday evening and we're fortunate enough to stay at the Double Tree! We reserved a room at 5 and got there at 7 with no problems at all. The hotel looked amazing with the renovations. The staff was all polite and friendly. It was only a one night stay but I would definitely recommend and may have to return for a staycation! read more

I was in town for a 4 day conference, so I stayed 5 nights. It's a nice enough hotel, a little worn in places, but the staff was awesome. We were greeted with a warm cookie at check in, which was a plus. One thing I deducted a star for was the refrigerator in the room. It wasn't very cold at all, and there was no microwave. How does one heat leftovers if there's no microwave?! The restaurant and lounge are small, with limited menu choices, but the food was good. Nothing to write home about, and really nothing to make it stand out over anybody else's food, but it was good, and it was served by wonderful folks. The one guy who was working the bar on Monday evening was a little short with us, but I think it was because he was overworked and the place was packed. Admittedly, he had a lot of people vying for his attention, so I gave him a pass. I'd like to give a special shout out to Juan who was absolutely spectacular in his customer service skills. He delivered dinner to my room one evening, and made a second trip back up just to open the wine bottle. When I saw him the next day, he remembered my name as well as a little bit of my story. But what really impressed me was the fact that he remembered me two days after, as well. He worked the restaurant like a boss, and I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to dine under his watchful eye. He even remembered what I was drinking a couple of days prior. Give that man a raise! This was my 1st trip to Chicago, and while I can't promise I'll ever return, if I do, I will be staying at this particular hotel because the staff left me feeling like I was valued as a customer and that I was important to them. read more

Where do I start? First of all, I didn't choose this hotel. My friend did amd has already apologized to me multiple times for doing so. Still I feel the need to review this place because there is just so much wrong with it. When we first arrived we were unable to find a cart. So we carried all our bags and our children's bags up by hand. None of the staff seemed to notice nor care. Now for the rooms. I would expect something better than the tiny box like rooms that we received. They are so small and crowded that I can compare it to a prison cell. The bathroom is not much better. If you are claustrophobic you will be afraid. Also, be warned, for the price you will pay you don't get a microwave nor a fridge. You get a bed which is nice and a TV that sometimes works. The internet crashes a lot and is otherwise very slow. There is a wedding party down the hall from us that is so loud that I fear they will make our night a living hell. I question whether security will do anything when they've already done so little with the ambiance. Overall will I ever stay here again? Absolutely not. I wanted to stay at the Baymont and wished I had. My friend bought me beer as an apology but at this point it just isn't enough to save my night. read more

After arriving in Chicago on March 1st I drove straight to the hotel to make sure my reservations for March 5th were in order. I had the king suite and the front desk confirmed my reservations. When I arrived on March 5th to check in theyl gave me a standard room. When I showed them my reservation was a suite I was told there was nothing they could do and I would have to wait for a manager. During my 45 minute wait I contacted hotels.com and THEY were able to fix the issue. The manager was very short with me and never offered an apology for the mix-up in rooms. After arriving in the room I found old food in the refrigerator and my son woke up with bites all over his face after laying on their couch. Overall the hotel is very beautiful inside, most of the staff was friendly aside from the manager but I do question the cleanliness. read more

Outdated rooms No USB plugs Tiny beds. No way 2 adults could share! We had to pay for an extra room for 4 nights. Our kids could not even share a bed! Dirty upon arrival ( pubic hairs in bathroom) Mirror and windows all dirty. House keeping walked in on us at 8am, they did knock first but gave us no time to get to the door. For rooms across the hall way. The host and staff in the breakfast area were very unprofessional. The host was adjusting her boobs and bra in for over 5 min as we sat down for breakfast It was kind of comical, it's as if she did not know we were sitting at the table right in front of her. The whole staff (3) server, bus boy and host Just stood at the podium pretty much the whole time all 4 days, glaring at us most of the time. The front desk staff were all Over the place. You received a different answer from each staff you spoke with and it ruined the experience. The elevator smelt horrible and no one seemed to care at all or even to notice. I asked that someone simply ride the elevator to understand the severity of the smel but no one did. They were not willing to go through what we as guest were going through but we were paying for the service. The shuttle service was the highlight of my stay. They guys were very knowledgeable, polite and willing to do 1000% more than the ladies at the front desk and their information didn't change depending on the driver. If the drivers could run the front desk as well it would have been a better experience. read more

Got to MDW, the driver had literally just pulled away (could've walked up to catch him if that iron had been offered) so I was told I had to wait 45 mins for the driver to return, the hotel which is 20mins away, so literally just pulled out. Why does the booking site ask for all your info if they're not going to use it for client service purposes. But guess since they're paid at the end of the booking process why should they care. Smh 55mins later the driver arrived, no call to advise that he would be delayed, if I hadn't followed up who knows how long I would've been just cooling my heels at the airport. Definitely parking at the airport next time, a bit more expensive but I won't have to sit around for an hour and in total lose an hour and 20 mins versus only 20mins. #1standlasttime smh read more

My husband and I stayed at this Doubletree when we were out that way seeing a friends comedy show. The hotel was great. Clean, cozy, nice restaurant/bar, really cool patio with lounging chairs, gym area and a swimming pool. The staff was very friendly and the best part...you get a free chocolate chip cookie at check in! Ooo and it is so good...they give it to you all warmed up...now that's almost worth the price of the room. Okay...not really but it was still a darn good cookie! Unbelievable! These people couldn't get their guests in grip. They put some family and friends with kids around my room and they were going from room to room all night long, drinking, being loud and kids playing and yelling in the hallway. I had to call security twice. On top of that they kept me awake until 2am their housekeeper knocked on my door at 8am. I was going ballistic. Terrible experience. Nobody from the hotel even offered an apology or any way of compensation. They will not have my business anymore. Their lounge bar and restaurant could do a better job too. Guy that worked the bar was not in shape and moved slowly sticking his fingers in every meal when he carried the food to my table. Calamari was served without lemon and some weird bad sauces. THIS HOTEL HAS BED BUGS. STAY AWAY. I recently stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel in Alsip and had a terrible experience. During my two night stay at the hotel I woke up covered in over 20 large itchy bug bites. After realizing these were not mosquito bites I tried to contact hotel management by phone. I called the front desk 3 times; each time they acted as if I was an inconvenience for trying to report a bed bug problem. They made no effort to determine what room I had stayed and told me someone would call me another day. I have yet to be contacted by someone from the hotel. It is extremely concerning to me to think that there is probably another group staying in the same room we did. Don't risk staying here. read more

This hotel was available and inexpensive, so my travel person booked it. Unfortunately for me, I was going to a show in McCormick Place which is probably 30+ miles away. The staff was nice and they told me to take the hotel shuttle back to Midway, and take the train avoiding the morning commute. This was a great call as it took me about an hour to get from the DoubleTree to downtown Chicago. The rooms are a little dated, but the sports bar was nice, service was good, and it was a great ESPN MNF spot. read more
