We reached the hotel around 10pm. Noticed that almost all stores and restaurants close early in Helen. But the check in staff was very helpful. She gave us an area map and list of things we could do. Also suggested a pizza place...which was the only place open at that time and would deliver. Our room was neat and clean. The hotel had complimentary breakfast "covid style". Meaning, you pick the items that you want from what they have available. They had quite a few selections. Cereal, juice, fruit, yogurt, nutri bar and cinnamon rolls. In hot breakfast they did not have anything vegetarian. They did have plain biscuits though. You tell the staff (who is wearing mask and gloves) what you want and she makes a tray for you. You can either eat in the dining area or take it to your room. The hotel seemed to follow the CDC guidelines for Covid. They do not enter your room for cleaning everyday (how it used to be before covid). If you need anything you just call the front desk and they bring it to you. Plus every day when we came back to the hotel in the evening...they left a care package with a towel, napkin, soap, toilet paper, etc. We didnt really had to ask for anything. The staff was helpful. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The service is always great. If there is anything a little off, they take care of it right away. The check in is outstanding since Champagne is waiting for you. Always helpful, friendly and happy to see us. As someone who has been to many hotels with a group, I can honestly say this one is the best for us. They even remember us from the year before and welcome any of our new people! Can't beat that. Can't recommend this high enough if you are looking to book for group. Fabulous meeting room, great food and staff is excellent.

You can tell from the photos that the hotel is dated, so that was not a surprise to us. When I read the reviews and saw a 4.6-star rating, I was expecting a nice hotel, but it is a little odd. Driving up to the hotel, you're not even sure it's the entrance. We arrived, and when we got to our room, it smelled a little like smoke as well as animals. I knew they accepted dogs, but when I called beforehand, I was assured they were kept in a separate section of the hotel. Of course, later I saw a large dog in the lobby. Again, I knew they accepted dogs, so it really wasn't a problem. We went into the quaint town of Helen and never heard from anyone at the hotel, so we went to the small office desk in the lobby and asked about the smells. They moved us to the room next door. The room was comfortable, large, had a sitting area, and the shower was nice. The next morning, I took a walk around the grounds to check out the tennis court. I need to attach a picture because it was a little scary and definitely not usable. They should not advertise that they have a tennis court. As I called beforehand to make sure they had a tennis court and pickleball. The next day, we headed into Helen again and wanted to return to the hotel for just an hour or so before heading back out, but we couldn't find a parking space. We had to head down a steep hill where there were some spaces, then drove back up the hill to see if one had opened up. They have a large section of about five valet spaces. A woman from the hotel drove by on a golf cart, and my husband asked if we could park in one of the spaces for an hour. She said they were reserved for those coming for dinner. My husband sarcastically replied, "Not for those staying here for four nights?" She was a nice lady, but that seemed odd. She removed one of the cones, and we parked in one of the five open spaces. The place was very slow and seasonal. The funny thing is that after being there for two nights, and with only a few guests around, she even asked, "Well, are you staying here at the hotel?" She didn't remember us, and we had spoken with her three times. I promise you, we are easy people. We understand that nothing is going to be perfect, and we can accept that. But not remembering us after several interactions felt a little disconcerting when you're hoping for a special experience. Meanwhile, it is now the next day, and I'm sitting in the lobby. No one has come to talk to me about the tennis court. We mentioned the room smell, we mentioned the tennis court, and we had to follow up ourselves by the end of the day. It's just a little disappointing when you're looking forward to a special getaway and feel like your concerns are not being addressed. That said, we did enjoy the warm chocolate chip cookies that were available in the evenings. They were a nice touch. And I should mention our first night we had dinner at the hotel and it was good. The onion rings were our favorite. Okay, one last experience. My husband is a golfer and I am not - I am a beginner. We decided for our last day we would play golf in the afternoon even if it's just to hit on the practice range. I told my husband I do not want to bother other golfers. We go to the pro shop and my husband asks if there is a time and mentions I am a beginner and he said they were truly filled up and that is fine as we did not set an appt but when my husband mentions we'd like to practice a little on the range and you can see no one is out there at this time, he replies we don't have any practice balls as he looks around - but you are more than welcome to take the golf cart and pick up some balls yourselves. We proceed to do this and when we head down there we practice a little and another couple come down as well and they say to us, wow we've never had this before, picking up your own practice balls. Anyways, wanted to mention our last experience. It is a shame, we will never come back to Valhalla Resort again.

The floor in our room did not feel clean. Behind and under visible areas of furniture I could see debris, and one night there was a cockroach crawling up the wall in our room. There was also a dirty Q tip in the hallway, and overflowing garbage cans in the hallway, that stayed like that from the time we checked in (5pm ish) until the following morning... I surprised they didn't have any staff checking the floors to clean more frequently. - Breakfast staff was keeping an eye on refilling hot food, but I didn't see them cleaning tables or refilling the other items. Also the TV in the breakfast area was playing Fox News which I felt wasn't very family friendly considering this is a family oriented hotel. Not sure if I'd stay here again.

My husband had scheduled a massage as a gift for that afternoon. This was probably the worst experience I have had. The therapist was poor in her execution, style and even manner. Before my treatment even started she mentioned an up charge for deep tissue. During my treatment she burped two times and her massage was far from relaxing her massage etiquette as a therapist was poor and as it was my birthday it sort of ruined my whole experience there, which was a shame. I did reach out to the B&B and provided my feedback, was told the spa manager (Tanya) would reach out but she never did. Heard back from the B&B manager and she told me the owner would give me a $50 dollar credit to my treatment the next time! We live almost two hours away so will not be planning on using that any time soon. To be honest after that experience I would not go back to the spa. The b&b was lovely the massage experience not so.

Title: A Blissful Retreat at Lucille's Mountain Top Inn and Spa…read more Rating: (5/5) My partner and I recently enjoyed a two-day stay at Lucille's Mountain Top Inn and Spa, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the impeccable service and breathtaking surroundings left us utterly enchanted. Firstly, I must commend Alex, the multi-talented front desk manager and concierge. Her warm welcome and exceptional hospitality set the tone for our entire stay. Alex not only ensured a smooth check-in but also provided us with valuable information about the resort and nearby attractions. Her dedication to making our stay memorable was truly impressive. Our mornings were filled with culinary delights thanks to the talented chefs, Michael and Linda. There are always 2 courses, and they typically feature some local produce and meats. Michael's breakfast creations on day one were a delightful surprise, with flavors that danced on our taste buds, especially the sausage! Linda, the breakfast chef on day two, continued the culinary excellence with a delectable breakfast that left us craving for more. The eggs with asparagus were amazing and I am super picky about my eggs. Rebecca, the waitress, deserves a special mention for her attentive and friendly service during our meals. She made dining a pleasure, always ready with a smile and quick to accommodate any request. Carla, the kitchen helper, and Cassidy, another member of the front desk and concierge team, contributed to the overall smooth operation of the inn. Their dedication behind the scenes did not go unnoticed, and it's evident that the entire staff at Lucille's is a well-oiled machine. Desserts are also served in the evening and the guests serve themselves and typically joined in the common areas, reading, chatting or playing one of the several board games available. It was delightful way to unwind. The highlight of our stay was the couples massage at the spa, a truly rejuvenating experience. The spa staff exhibited professionalism and skill, creating a tranquil atmosphere that allowed us to unwind and connect on a deeper level. Lucille's Mountain Top Inn and Spa is a place where luxury meets nature, and where every staff member goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The stunning mountain views, the impeccable service, and the attention to detail make this an oasis of relaxation and romance. We can't wait to return to this hidden gem in the mountains. Thank you, Lucille's, for making our stay unforgettable.
