It felt tight with 2 people. The thermostat on the wall was not working right. Our room was 73 and it would not go below that temperature. The front desk did come to assist, and recommended holding buttons here and there to get it to set at a lower temperature. While the temperature did finally get set to about 69, the air was stuffy. Also, the front desk was not wearing shoes which was odd.... The bed was not comfortable. The front desk had mentioned there was a recent renovation but I do not think the beds were in that renovation. The bed was hard and squeaked. You could feel the springs. The complimentary breakfast was okay but what I would typically expect for what I'm paying. Overall this is Dothan, AL and a room should not cost this much and you not have a working thermostat and a 10+ year old bed.

My Diamond member status was oddly never recognized by the staff nor did they have Diamond Member parking. This was odd and the only reason they didn't receive a fifth star.

The hotel itself had a pleasant smell and was very quiet. When we first checked in we were shocked to find a very filthy toilet. We asked the front desk to send someone to clean it and they arrived promptly with no problem. Thinking all was well. When it came to getting ready to settle in for the night we found that the shower door was completely removed from the hinges and was actually leaning against the inside of the shower to stand! Not only is this extremely dangerous but it also indicates that the shower was not cleaned by housekeeping because if it was then we would've never been put in the room. With this, we were offered a new and upgraded room by the front desk. We were given a new key and asked to inspect the room before we moved our things. Everything was fine except for the air conditioning in the bedroom was broken. At this point it was 2a and we just turned up the air conditioner in the living room area and hoped for the best. This is a true DoubleTree by Hilton. They have a pool as well as a great outdoor area that includes fire pits, and a cornhole pit. There's also a restaurant that's available as well as a bar. There is convention space here as well.

My wife and I chose this hotel because of the convenience with regard to proximity of why we visited Dothan. We have stayed here on 3 occasions, and this review comes after the third visit. Our most recent stay was a 5 night stay. This will probably be our last stay. For the most part, this hotel is adequate for the cost. It generally runs 100 +/-20, leaning towards the +20. The lot is well lit at night and there is adequate parking for the number of rooms. The rooms, lobby, and food areas are typical for a Comfort Inn. The pool looks well-kept (not used because I visit during January). The hallway carpets look dingy and drab and like it needs a steam-vaccuming. The fitness room was a sad affair, with 2 of the 4 machines operational. (NOTE: If the treadmill isn't starting, check the emergency magnet in the middle). The washer was also non-opperational. The staff was mostly friendly. I overheard gossip about Sarah, complaining about a visitor, and about an hour of mobile game beeping from an employee's phone that was (as best as I could tell) at full volume. The room was clean. I do to a hotel to relax in the evening and like to watch TV and have a TV on during the night help me to sleep. Out TV would only stay on for about 15 minutes then go back to a start menu ALL NIGHT LONG. I called front desk all they said was turn it off the wait 15 minutes and turn back on..I did this many many times, I slept horrible as did my husband. Told the front desk when we came down for breakfast and Donna (desk Clerk) told us that they just switched to new TV Service the day before and had no idea what to so about it. I dont think i will stay with another LaQuinta again. My stay should have been better and i paid good money i quess to try and work on the TV and front desk really didnt care.
