This is our second time staying here and it has been exceptional each time. All of the associates are friendly and extremely helpful. The location is kept exceptionally clean from the exterior through the interior and into the rooms. The beds are quite comfortable and you can tell that they've gone through a massive referb recently. In reading some of the reviews it lists this as a holiday inn in Dothan and that is not the case. This is a true DoubleTree by Hilton. They have a pool as well as a great outdoor area that includes fire pits, and a cornhole pit. There's also a restaurant that's available as well as a bar. I can not describe in enough detail how wonderful my stay was! Every single person we encountered was pleasant, smiling and eager to help The outside and inside is clean and well kept. The room was spacious, CLEAN and QUIET!! A lovely quiet room is exactly what I needed after a long day of driving and working. Mini fridge, microwave and mini coffee maker all in great order. Channels galore on the TV, large towels and fragrant hair/shower amenities. I inquired about the age of the hotel and was surprised that it was not new-such good upkeep! Stayed 2 nights and used a meeting room as well. From sales to guest services-what an absolute pleasure. This will most definitely be my go to place when in town and was only made better by the fact that the on-site restaurant has GLUTEN FREE options! read more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Dothan for one night, October 8, 2016. As part of a wedding block, the cost was $135.30 (taxes included) for a room with a king bed. We didn't have any problems with our short stay at this hotel. The bed was super comfy (silky smooth sheets and soft pillows). The hotel looks pretty up-to-date and modern. It's clean. Our check-in time was 3pm, but that almost got pushed back because the hotel was at capacity due to folks displaced by Hurricane Matthew. The guy at the front desk (who was friendly, by the way) told us housekeeping had the daunting task of turning over 100+ rooms for Saturday night, which isn't normal. Luckily, after a short wait, we were able to snag a room shortly after 3. We had room 226 which had a view of the VW dealership next door. The room was clean and I watched college football on the TV. The TV had a decent selection of channels, though some were non-HD. There were the usual essentials: iron, ironing board, microwave, coffee maker (Keurig), mini fridge, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion (that made me smell like coconut and lime), makeup remover, etc. The hotel will provide stuff like toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc. upon request (complimentary). I liked how the shower drained in the center. The shower floor was a bit slippery though which is a safety concern. Also, one of the shower doors had a lot of mold/mildew buildup on the bottom, which was off-putting. I loved how bright the lights were in the bathroom. The AC worked great. Wi-Fi was free and the speeds were decent, but only after bouncing around a few different Holiday Inn Wi-Fi networks to find a good one. We grabbed ice from the second floor ice maker a couple times and it worked fine. We had breakfast at 7am on Sunday morning. Breakfast opens at 6:30. We were the first to arrive. Breakfast wasn't included with our booking, so we paid an extra $6.99 per person + the cost of coffee. Breakfast was A-OK. It was a standard American breakfast buffet that consisted of items like grits, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, fruit (watermelon, blueberries, cantaloupe, pineapple, strawberries, etc.), boxed cereal, and yogurt. Our server was exceptionally nice. The restaurant had two TVs tuned to the news. One TV was tuned to CNN and the other Fox News. In the end, this is not a bad hotel. It was OK, but I would expect a Holiday Inn to be at least four stars. I was very disappointed at the lack of customer service exhibited by Adam at the front desk. As I walked up, he was looking down, very busy shuffling papers. I greeted him, a reversal of roles, and he looked up at me, said hello, and then proceeded to talk with another Holiday Inn associate behind the desk. He then looked back at me, and asked me--get this--if I was the same guy that he just talked to. He asked for my ID, looked at it carefully, and proceeded with the paperwork, misspelling my six-letter last name with three incorrect letters. He did not have a short attention span, he had NO attention span. I give him an F in customer service. Holiday Inn honchos, this guy needs some retraining. The room was fine, reasonably spacious, despite a desk chair with high armrests that would not nestle under the desk, thus blocking one third of the room. Brilliant choice of furniture. The party upstairs sounded like they were bowling with hand grenades. The Wi-Fi was so slow, I am convinced their router is diesel powered. The downstairs restaurant was fine, incidentally. I had a very good Caesar Salad w/chicken for dinner and in the morning, an extensive breakfast buffet was offered for $8. Couldn't resist that ! Yep, I've experienced better. read more

So being an IHG Platinum Elite member I stay at nothing but IHG properties when the wife and I travel. We enjoy the amenities and perks extended to us as IHG members. When I'm the area this has been our hotel of choice but that is changing. The last 3 times we have stayed there there have been issues with this hotel and the staff. The first two issues required IHG to intervene to get resolved. As with any hotel we were charged a nominal fee ($50 in this case) for incidentals and I was fine with that. However when I checked my credit card there was an additional charge of $25 on my card charged by the hotel. When I inquired I was given some story by the front desk clerk regarding the charge. So I contacted IHG and they called the hotel and "boom" the story they got was "oh it was a glitch in our system and we'll refund it right away." The second time we stayed at this hotel it was the same thing. $50 incidental charge which once again I was fine. Checked my credit card and once again a mysterious charge was there in addition to the incidental charge. The difference this time was it was for $50. Contacted the front desk again, was given a similar story about the additional charge. This time I went to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager. Spoke with the manager and was told the "employee was new and still training." They apologized about the "charge" and reversed it. Now on this stay I opted to use my points for this stay. So I booked this hotel on the IHG app using my points. This stay cost me 15,000 points. No problem, I had the points banked up. Due to my work schedule my wife went with my older brother as he is going through a divorce and has a hearing regarding his divorce. They arrive at the hotel, check in like normal. They are charged a standard incidental fee of $50, get the room keys and go to the room. As they are unpacking my brother has medication that is required to be kept refrigerated so they go to put it into the micro fridge in the room....but there is no micro fridge in the room. The room has a coffee pot and a microwave but no fridge. Thinking that was off that maybe it stopped working she called the front desk to inquire. The front desk then informs her that the room she was assigned by the hotel was a standard double and that room type doesn't come with a micro fridge. The micro fridge only comes with the "upper end" rooms and suites. However they could bring her a micro fridge but there would be an additional fee of $40. Yes you read that right, in addition to charging me 15,000 reward points and $50 for incidentals they want to charge me $40 for a damn fridge that on every other stay came with the room!!!!! I contacted IHG to see of they could assist with this issue. Nope, nothing. I was told that each hotel was independently owned and operated and that specific hotel charges for use of a micro fridge and they were allowed to do that. Now as a Platinum Elite Member I would have thought that 15,000 points would have gotten me a room with a fridge. I'm not asking for a suite, just simply a room with a damn fridge to keep certain medication refrigerated. I wasn't even given an option as to the type of room. The hotel assigned me a "standard room." As much as I travel and as much as I have spent this past year with IHG properties I am sorely disappointed in how we were treated by both the hotel as well as IHG. I won't be staying at this hotel again. 3 strikes and you're out! Be very wary of this hotel. Unless you request an "upper end" room expect to be charged for a micro fridge. It's ridiculous. This is nothing more than an attempt by this hotel to increase their revenue. Hell first time I was there the hot tub was broken or so the sign claimed. The second time they REFUSED to turn the hot tub on because it wasn't the season for the hot tub. read more

Save yourself a headache and find another hotel to stay at while visiting Dothan. Due to the awful customer services and lack of management leadership if you run into any sort of problem during your stay don't expect any help from them solving your problem. I prepaid for 2 rooms over a week before our stay. When I checked in I was charged for the rooms again even though my account clearly noted pre pay for 2 rooms. I was also charged multiple times for the "incidentals" of $50 per night. However, the total of my charges minus the room total did not equal an amount of $50 increments. When I asked the front desk about the extra charges they couldn't explain to me why or what I was charged for. In the end I was charged a total of $936 to 2 rooms. Today marks 5 days since I checked out of the hotel and 6 days since I brought my issue to management in Dothan. I have yet to hear an apology from Holiday Inn. In fact, the general manager (Kim) has yet to even acknowledge they made a mistake as she will not answer her office phone when they connect me to her extension nor will she return my requests for a call back. I still have charges on my card for rooms I already paid for. After leaving several messages for the manager (Kim) with no call back I took my issue to corporate. Corporate called the Dothan Holiday inn to speak with the GM (Kim) about the problems I was having. When the corporate office called me back to let me know what was going on, she told me the front desk staff and the GM were rude to her when they called too! There is no excuse for the lack of helpfulness or their lack of simple customer service. It is obvious they are not friendly with anyone no matter who you are. If they are rude to their fellow coworkers and corporate management over the phone it is safe to say they are rude to all customers that step foot in that hotel. I have never dealt with such poor customer service. It amazes me that Kim even has a job there since she fails to return calls and fails to pick up the phone to address a problem. I logged onto trip advisory and read many reviews with similar issues. This is an ongoing problem at this location. I can only hope that Holiday Inn steps in and takes care of this problem on a management level the sooner the better! read more

SUCH BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE Do not stay here. Do not. And if you must, do not book through Expedia. I stayed here 2 weeks, and EVERY SINGLE DAY I overheard the front desk clerk(s) arguing with people trying to check in. People had so many issues.!The staff had a bizarre, confrontational attitude toward their guests and routinely gave away the rooms people thought they had reserved. The bewildered guests, when they tried to check in, were told, (I heard this!!!): "You reserved a room in the hospitality industry. A room. You did not reserve a PARTICULAR room." When people would say, "but I paid for a room with a king..." The clerks would say, "You reserved a room through Expedia." It was so disheartening and depressing to overhear this sort of thing. I was coming and going all the time for work; I really witnessed this! They don't serve a complimentary breakfast; they don't accept tax-exempt certificates "because the owner doesn't want to" (HUH?!?); they charge for copies. You are there for them to make money off of you, period. And for me personally, the electronic locking mechanism malfunctioned on my door, and for 4 DAYS (!!) a desk clerk had to walk me to my room to unlock it. One night, I had to wait 40 minutes for the lone desk clerk to let me in. I tried calling IHG's loyalty club customer service No help. At the hotel itself: no apology; no compensation. I was FINALLY moved to a different room. Seriously....! Never experienced anything like this, and I travel for months at a time. Stay at a Hilton property. They have the best customer service by far. Here's a positive about this hotel: it's clean, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the maids are hardworking and kind. So if you are stubbornly wanting to stay here -- book direct with Holiday Inn and arrive early if you can ... otherwise, there is an excellent chance you will not get the room you are expecting. read more

This hotel has gradually gone downhill over past few years. Stayed in April 2017 & will stay elsewhere next time I'm in Dothan. The dust ruffles on both queen beds were filthy. Not something I usually look at, but was so nasty it was noticeable. Walls were dirty too. Something I'd expect from a cheap motel, not a Holiday Inn. Went to restaurant/bar, sat at table - floor was filthy, menu was even sticky so ended up going out for dinner. Was going to let staff know upon checkout but there wasn't anyone at the front desk & I didn't have time to wait. As a business traveler what I look for in an hotel establishment are critical to the needs of a business traveler. Clean rooms, a comfortable bed, friendly staff, and above all else the ability to have "high speed" internet to conduct business. Although the staff I have associated with have been pleasant when I cannot conduct business due to horrible internet service it is a huge problem. Why should a paying patron of $145.00 a night not have internet connection is beyond me and is unacceptable in my opinion. I have brought with me 3 other teammates who are staying in the hotel and need to be able to distribute important information via email. Not I am forced to utilize my own personal hotspot from my personal cell phone. The does not suit my needed as a top level IHG member. I was booked for two nights for myself and my team here and will be changing hotels as a result. When I spoke to the person down stairs regarding the frustration I did receive a polite apology but the were unable to express the cause or offer a solution. I have stayed at the establishment every year for 8 years, about 3 weeks a year, and will be finding a new place now as a result. Very disappointed. read more

Rented 4 rooms for several weeks, my plans changed and had to check out after 5 days and staff member kept insinuating i originally requested a longer stay to get a cheaper rate keep in mind my employees were going to continue to stay for several more weeks. Days prior i asked for an item and the same guy said i had to wait until housekeeping came in at 730am it was 3 am and i just got off work, the next day i asked for change for their coin operated washer and dryer and again the same guy said he couldnt help me. I visit Dothan regularly but our stays here in this place are over, much better places to stay in with friendlier staff in Dothan. read more

I have been here for 3 days now and my room has not been cleaned one time. Someone came in though, to replace the trash bags and towels, but the bed was left unmade. After bringing this to the front desk twice and nothing was done, I was told, "it wasn't their department." This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in they charged us $1025 for a two night stay for a room that was supposed to cost $144 a night if you were a member of IHG. We have talked to IHGandthey made a case number and gave this hotel 48 hours to return our money at thousand 25 when it should've been 330 with taxesthe hotel manager says he doesn't have to talk to us and hangs up on us when we ask him what's going on. We finally found out that they booked us for the same stay into different hotel rooms and are charging us for both hotel rooms because we didn't show up for the second one so when I asked to speak to somebody higher up they tell me that we have to wait for the hotels resolution to the problem I noticed they only have one star. I gave a one star because you don't have zero stars or negative stars which is exactly what they deserve never ever stay in this hotel unless you want to be ripped off get a sub par room and totally taken advantage of. We went to the front desk to try to resolve this could get no resolution because no manager was on duty. talking to these people for two days now still no resolution it's all up to the manager according to the call center out of the Dominican Republican where nobody speaks English if you plan on staying in Dothan pick anywhere besides holiday inn they are the worst the TV didn't work hair is in the bed coffee maker didn't work the people at the front desk don't know how to work the computer read more

I traveled with a one and three year old and they refused to provide a crib. Our room said it came with a fridge. I called "customer service". They said not all rooms come with a fridge. The front desk, Christy was screaming at me..The agency mgr,Kim Passed me onto her voice mail after I just said my name and. My dates of occupancy. Obviously these are routine complaints from guests.. It's been well over 2 weeks and still this issue has not been resolved! I'm currently working with my credit union and greatful I used my credit card vs a debit card. Corporate needs to know about these 2 people representing Holiday Inn. On calling back the front desk..I dealt with a VERY POLITE man, ADAM Who was very respectful and apologetic..I was able to obtain additional information of the G. Mgr .Kim. I was a senior woman traveling with oxygen...struggling to take my luggage to the car..this is nonsense.. I have notified Priceline to be careful on booking me into any Holiday Inns. This place is horrible! After changing rooms three times my door lock still doesn't work. Every time I need to get into my room I have to get a clerk to come let me in w some kind of machine to unlock the door. According to the clerk last night this is an issue w several of their rooms. The phone in our room doesn't work so we cannot even get a wake up call. The pool has been closed for maintenance for three days. The AC in the hallways and elevators is barely pumping out air.
