This has become my go-to hotel for my weekly stays in Pierre. The rooms are clean enough and comfortable, and there is at least one staff member I am always glad to see. Unfortunately, however, during my most recent stay, May 18-19, I forgot a black, leather skinny belt in one of the bureau drawers of the room I was checked into. By the time I realized I had forgotten my belt, it was gone, with at least two hotel employees, one of them apparently being the manager, informing me that housekeeping staff members always thoroughly check rooms for items left behind by guests but had not found my belt, alluding that the guest or guests who had stayed in the room after I checked out might have stolen my belt. But, if the hotel's claim that housekeeping employees consistently search rooms for items left behind by guests, then it would undeniably stand to reason that a housekeeping employee stole my belt. So, I will no longer be recommending this property to anyone. Leave nothing behind, especially anything of great value, when checking out of this hotel. read more

Go somewhere else. Hotel was not clean with mud in the hallways, Ice machine and snack machine did not work, traction strips on the bottom of the bathtub was peeling. Breakfast was marginal-after checking out the options went across the street to McDonalds. Front desk personnel were indifferent and not knowledgeable about the area. BED BUGS. If I could leave zero stars I would. I was originally booked for a three-night stay, but I cancelled my reservations for nights two and three after checking into my room. My room in the annex was filthy and looked as though it had not been turned over. When I informed the front desk, I was told those rooms were not cleaned well because "It's usually just construction workers who stay there." They then moved me to a new room. I woke up at 4:00am to find the new room was infested with bed bugs. This hotel was a complete nightmare! Want coffee in the morning? Good luck. Want to call the hotel regarding your stay? Good luck. Want to throw away half your belongings and be paranoid that you brought bed bugs into your home? This is the place for you!! read more

This is my 2nd stay in Pierre, SD traveling on business in the past month. Based on my 1st experience staying at The Ramkota, this Baymont is excellent compared to across the street. To begin, all the staff were very cordial and welcoming. It is very clear that the staff does care about it's customers. I booked a King Suite for the stay. The suite was overall clean, comfortable and spacious. Unlike my experience across the street, housekeeping serviced my room daily without even asking. Parking was not even close to being a problem, so plenty of room for cars, pickups and even boats and RVs! While there is no restaurant or bar onsite, the offerings at the complimentary breakfast were very good. There are several fast-food offerings and restaurants well within walking distance or at most a couple minutes drive. While clearly this is not a 4 or 5 star property in the grand scheme of rating hotels, I do stay weekly at hotels across the USA. I am a Hilton HHonors Lifetime Diamond Member and my standards are quite high. I would put this property in the same category as Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton. Regardless, this property deserves 4 stars! I would suggest considering staying at Baymont seriously as quality hotel offerings are very limited in Pierre, SD. read more

My family and I stayed here quite a few years ago and everything was great. Today, after being there for 2 nights, I have bedbug bites, and I always check beds so they were well hidden! The room smelled old and musty, but the drawing factor was the lower price. Pierre hotels are all overpriced for what they are but definitely bypass this one considering the infestation of bed bugs!! read more

Rooms were OK and the location was good. We were comfortable with our our one-night stay here.

The only redeeming feature of this hotel is the low price. We were housed in the annex building next door. We had lots of issues with the security card outside door entry. The room was simply bad. Disgusting old carpeting that has probably never been replaced. Old electric floor heaters and an old fashioned wall mount air conditioner. Very small flat screen TV. Bathroom in need of a total renovation. The complimentary breakfast buffet was not very good and the sitting area for customers way to small. You get what you pay for. read more

Got stranded overnight (12/26/21) due to the weather, we stayed here and the price was pretty good. Hotel was very clean, and slept well. Had a small decent breakfast. Only lost a star because the front desk worker on (12/27/21) was very un friendly and grumpy. She doesn't belong in customer service. Overall though very nice! read more

The price is right and the pet policy is good. 2nd year staying at this hotel and had zero issues in 2021. This year though...BED BUGS. Not noticeable but both myself and roommate were bitten up pretty good. Probably should have it fumigated. Staff seemed friendly enough, but not really interested in anything relating to customer service. read more

I requested bottom floor rooms and was assured we had two rooms in the annex. I had a guy with me who was on oxygen and can't do stairs. We didn't get the bottom floor rooms. They were also letting cars park in the boat parking. The first night the girl at the front desk acted like who cares. The second night the girl looked up the license plates and the people had a do not disturb sign on their door. Said she would get it taken care of. That's the only thing that went right with this hotel. Also let us change our Reservations around due to the wind. The nice breakfast in the morning, the girl at the front desk the second night, and them being flexible with reservations are why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1. read more

Wyndham needs to stop putting their name on hotels if they are not going to hold them to the higher standards that Wyndham used up hold. This hotel is old and the attempt to update is a joke. I will no longer use Wyndham as a preference. read more

When we 1st arrive i was a little on the leery side. The receptionist was as good as asleep in a lobby chair. She had no clue what she was doing or how to operate the computer system. Her shift ended shortly after we arrive. When the young man, who I might add was his 1st day working here, took his shift he made everything 110% great. The room we stayed in was small, but we weren't looking for a big room. The rooms are spic and spin clean. The rates are good. A wide variety of places to eat within walking distance. Gorgeous little park area beside the river within walking distance. I would recommend this place. Hopefully the 1st gal we dealt with will either quit or get fired and no one else will have to deal with her. read more

The beds were very comfortable the room was extremely clean their breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly my mother was able to explain to them that my stepdad will not have ID with him when he came in but he might get there before they did. They was no problem. read more
