We have always enjoyed our stays. Probably 2-3 times a year. Clean, friendly and easy access to all our needs. Would recommend it to all.

Had to go down to front desk to get toilet paper because no room cleaning/stocking service. Rooms aren't cleaned unless you request. Location is ok. This is more of a long term low cost residential hotel. If I could give it a negative, I would. There are better hotels to stay at.

If I could give 0 stars it would probably qualify. Let's start with checkin: seemed pretty easy,…read morethat is, until I had to make two trips back down to the front desk because my room key did not work. Of note here, I was moved rooms each time. Why? It was explained that some of the card readers on some rooms were "supposed to be fixed" but must not have been. While I could appreciate your then-front desk employee being basically overly apologetic, she made it a point to stress how bad things are around the hotel, hence why she put her notice in. This then turned into a wild conspiracy theory that since putting in said notice, management/owners are taking away certain needed access rights such as access to provide guests with things like more towels, but adding on she wouldn't be surprised if making keys was also part of that. Oh yeah and she also shared how while probably against policy, she's been telling guests to grab something from the "store" as a means of trying to make it up to them. That then made me wonder, was this why I was told I could take a popcorn and soda? Now we get to the room, again 3rd try is a charm I guess! Kitchen was clean, bathroom seemed clean, beds ok. Having dropped my charger on the floor, I check under the bed for it and there's crumbs and such; if you're going to have an open space under the bed, should probably make sure you vacuum under it. After driving all day I wanted to turn on the TV to unwind; no signal. Being tech savvy myself I make sure it's on a likely hdmi input and it was. Look behind the tv and see the hdmi cable is completely unplugged from the TV. Plug it into the first and second HDMI; first gave me picture but no audio, second did nothing. Yet again third time being the charm, hdmi 3 and wahooo I have a working TV! I then look at the wall next to my bed and see what I can only assume is a previous guest's... boogers maybe? I wasn't about to find out, I just dealt with it and made sure none of my stuff touched that wall. Let's go to the lobby/exterior part of my stay. Lobby was clean sure, but if you offer coffee maybe make enough for your guests? Having one dispenser seems silly. The first sliding door as you are walking into the lobby from outside did not work. Luckily again for troubleshooting, just have to manually slide that door apparently; thank god I am not someone with accessibility needs! I end with the trash receptacles outside. The entirety of my stay they were never emptied and at overflowing capacity. Doesn't really give you a lot of hope in how the hotel is ran. Next time if I am asked where I want to stay when I'm town for work, MyPlace simply won't be my place to stay nor recommend to those wanting to stay in an area hotel. AmericInn or Holiday Inn, here I come!

While standing in the lobby, I witnessed the front desk manager, Elizabeth, raise her voice at another employee over what appeared to be some type of counting error. Regardless of the reason, it was uncomfortable and unprofessional to witness, especially in front of guests. This wasn't our first negative experience involving Elizabeth. During previous stays, my brother--who has minor mental disabilities--asked where the on-site gym was located and also had a question about his bill. Instead of receiving helpful customer service, he felt dismissed. He has unfortunately become accustomed to people overlooking or talking down to him, but the way he was treated by Elizabeth stood out for the wrong reasons. While I was there today, I also overheard another employee, Sara, say that she felt intimidated by Elizabeth's conduct. Hearing that only reinforced my impression that this may be an ongoing issue rather than an isolated incident. Is Elizabeth the General Manager? If so, that's concerning. If not, I hope ownership is made aware of how guests and employees are being treated. Because of these experiences, my brother will be choosing a different hotel for future visits to Pierre.

Unfortunately, however, during my most recent stay, May 18-19, I forgot a black, leather skinny belt in one of the bureau drawers of the room I was checked into. By the time I realized I had forgotten my belt, it was gone, with at least two hotel employees, one of them apparently being the manager, informing me that housekeeping staff members always thoroughly check rooms for items left behind by guests but had not found my belt, alluding that the guest or guests who had stayed in the room after I checked out might have stolen my belt. But, if the hotel's claim that housekeeping employees consistently search rooms for items left behind by guests, then it would undeniably stand to reason that a housekeeping employee stole my belt. So, I will no longer be recommending this property to anyone. Leave nothing behind, especially anything of great value, when checking out of this hotel.
