Very affordable, and for the price you are getting a clean bed, grab and go breakfast, and the person working the front was very nice and helpful. Beds are comfortable and clean. Towels were clean. Surfaces were clean. I've been in many affordable places that did not have that at all, so I was very relieved to see this here. The carpet could use a deep clean lol, but that's a detail I'm not going to nitpick at for the price. The room had a microwave, mini fridge, TV, hairdryer, and a coffeemaker. Room 143 was very dirty. Stains on the furniture that could easily be wiped away, used soap left in the shower, a previous guests items left in the drawers of dresser, pubic hair in the bathroom sink and no shampoo or conditioner. Television remote did not work. None of this seemed to concern the front desk person. I requested a different room, which he accommodated. Room 223 was upstairs where carpet on some of the treads was shredded and posed a trip hazard. Even dirtier than the first room, there was NO toilet paper and only one small hand towel for my five day stay. Again, front desk person was unconcerned and only handed me a roll of toilet paper. It was midnight and I was too tired to look for another hotel but decided I wasn't interested in sleeping with my shoes on so as to not touch the carpet if I needed to get up during the night. I moved hotels but not until after I refused to leave without documentation that I was cancelling my stay. I asked why the hotel was in such terrible disrepair as I had stayed years earlier and it was lovely. As I started driving the Provo, I called the hotel at 3:35 PM to tell them I would be late. I drove all night for my two night reservation on a Friday and Saturday. I drove through the night Friday having to stop to sleep. I didn't get there till 6 AM. I was told there would be a night person on duty and arriving late would not be a problem. When I arrived Friday morning, they no showed my reservation and would not let me check in Saturday morning. They did not let me stay Saturday night. They did not refund my reservation. Because I came at 6 AM on Friday, even though I had called, they stole my money for the second night's reservation and would not let me stay. If you are looking for a clean room, efficient professional service, and a safe, secure place to lay your head at night, the Provo River Inn is NOT the place for you! However, if you are looking for a party pad where you don't have to worry about breaking anything (many things already are destroyed for you), alternative and creative garbage receptacles when the single trash can offered in the whole room is full, and even enough freezer space to store incredibly questionable and personal items, you have found your hidden gem! Allow me to explain. When we get up to the second floor with our bags, we are hit by a brick wall of stifling heat and barefooted teenagers wandering the halls. We make it into the room and blessed air conditioning, this earned the hotel the one star it got. The door was not locked when we went in and quick inspection of the room showed that we had no shower curtain, throw pillows only on our bed, and clearly vacuuming had yet to be done. I wandered into the hall to search for housekeeping to address these issues. Enter previously mentioned barefoot teenage boys, aka the housekeepers. The confused "employees" told me the shower curtain would arrive shortly, these are the only size pillows they offer, and nothing but blank stares in regard to the lack of vacuuming. Aside from the missing shower curtain, the room was considered ready. Dear God. A few minutes later, an older but also bare footed woman, knocks and shoves a shower curtain into my arms. Apparently her job is done and I have been delegated to hang the, thankfully clean linen. I am left with a task and massive confusion about the lack of footwear in a place that definitely should require it for the safety and health of the employees at the very least, since vacuums seem to be nonfunctioning here. My confusion is mildly added to when I notice a used Zyn packet strategically stuck to the wall, but confusion quickly flees when I realize there is only one garbage can. Clearly it had overflowed during the previous stay and they had to get creative on garbage placement at that point. Don't worry housekeepers. No questions asked at this point on the oversight. And there you might think the fun would stop. You are wrong. My partner opened the freezer and we then faced the largest puzzle of all. Were we spending the night in a room that had been previously occupied by someone with a specific kind of cold weather kink, or were we in fact residing in the after math of a Lorena Bobbit-esque crime scene? The frozen image in the layer of ice on the bottom of the freezer left the matter up for debate and the moving body of water out the back left both possibilities completely valid. We may never know. Upon checkout, when we addressed all previously mentioned issues with the unkempt barely awake man at the front desk, he gave a similar blank stare as I got from the teenager the day before (assuming they are related for various reasons), and then suggested that perhaps someone had chosen to freeze a cucumber...please review Gods allow the picture to load on this site so you can decide for yourself on said cucumber possibility. Hopefully your brains are higher functioning than this man's were. And with that I will sign off and highly recommend you completely avoid this hostel at all costs, unless of course you need to commit a crime of the nature vaguely discussed above. I would give no stars if that were an option. When I arrived at the hotel there were yellow caution tapes and work trucks and huge haul off construction mess dumpsters. I found a safe parking place away from the mess and then went to the lobby desk asking about the renovations. I was concerned about noise and mess etc. She advised they were only replacing windows...but...I did see someone with a hammer drill going to work on a window frame. The lobby employee informed me that I was booked into a second floor room with a balcony? I am a disabled veteran and have great difficulty with stairs. I contacted my daughter who placed the reservation for me and she stated that she would never do that! I got myself up and back down the 16 stairs but did not make it to the reserved room. I asked if I could please have a room on the first floor as I would never get my rolling suitcase up those stairs! I finally got to my 1st floor room...set up my laptop and kicked off my sneakers only to step onto a soaked carpeted floor. The soaked area is from the wall the AC is located on out about 5 feet and about 8 feet long! I immediately called the front desk to advise them and was told they would relay the info. to the maintenance man. Not, Oh No! let me get you a dry room! So apparently this rug has been wet for awhile and now I am worried about mold...so I took an allergy pill right away. I decided a nice hot shower would help me sleep...but...there was not enough hot water coming out of the bathtub faucet to make a hot shower! Lots of cold though. I ended up taking a spit bath and washing my hair in the sink next to the bathroom. Then I noticed that the floor seemed to be moving??? I do not think it is an earthquake but something is making the floor shake ...I feel it less but still feel it when standing on the carpet. At this point I would like my money back so I could go to a hotel who would treat their guest better than this one seems to be able to. I will be complaining to the owner/or company who owns this ramshackle place! read more

I'm currently here and I am horrified by the condition of this property. My family wanted to go swimming but when we got to the pool it was closed for maintenance. Ice machine on first floor, also closed- under maintenance. Once we walked around and saw the rest of the property, we decided we wouldn't trust ice from the machine anyway. My kids laid towels down on the bed to lay on "just in case". I chose this hotel for the proximity to a tubing excursion. I wish I would have checked the reviews first! The staff is nice and did say they have breakfast in the morning. I was hoping that this place was a hidden gem because it was attached to the Wyndham. Not so much. read more

We switched our reservation to this hotel less than 24 hours before arriving. The reason i am giving 2 instead of 3 stars is that they told my mom on the phone when reserving our rooms that they were still doing breakfast. When we showed up they told us a different story. That just really rubs me the wrong way and is something super simple to be on the same page about! I felt like they should have given us vouchers for breakfast somewhere local! Also- it is possible to do breakfast during covid and be safe! We stayed at another Baymont for 2 nights in Cedar City, UT that had bag breakfasts! Other than breakfast, this place was ok. It was good! I was worried about the low rating but it was great! Nothing was wrong with our stay, and I loved the prices we paid.

An acceptable experience. I'm guessing this place used to be quite nice and maybe even a bit upscale originally judging from the grounds and layout, but has fallen into disrepair-- such as the barely functioning ice maker and the moldy carpet beside it... The room itself was decent, though a bit sparse in terms of towels and soap. The bed was comfortable though, which was the most important factor anyway. Shower had okay pressure and temperature. There are very few electrical sockets available. The ones built into the lamps don't all work either. My husband had to charge his laptop in the bathroom. The room does come with a microwave and fridge, however the fridge will keep your drinks at a temperature I can only describe as "mildly chilled." It obviously hasn't been defrosted in quite some time judging from the ice build-up inside. COVID-19: Pool was open, fitness center was not. No breakfast provided. And, I have to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the fella who checked us in. He was kind of rude and snappy and WASN'T wearing a mask even though it was required for entry. What a turd. read more

Maintenance of the hotel definitely needs improvement. It's a struggle to take a shower as shower head is old and dirty, filters in AC are disgustingly dirty, carpets need to be clean as well as hallways, inside toilet needs cleaning as well. This place is terrible!!! It is dirty, old, dingy, and unkempt. Our room wasn't vacuumed when we arrived. The curtains were falling down and the room stank. If there was somewhere else to go we would have packed up and left, but it was BYU's homecoming and everything was sold out. The bath fixtures were rusted and falling apart and the shower was nasty. The beds were hard and uncomfortable like cheap cost cutter Hoyas beds. The walls were thin and I had to go bang on the neighbors door at 12:30 am to get them to take their argument outside. No breakfast and the staff wasn't helpful and I was pretty sure they did not know what's going on in their hotel. There was some sketchy people hanging out at different places and made us feel unsafe. Even the parking lot was dirty filled with cans and bottles. We will never stay there again read more

This room was so dirty. Don't trust the pictures! They are very doctored up! First of all, there is no elevator. We got to our room and the first thing I noticed was that the window was open. Next I looked in the shower and I was done!! There was mold and the bottom was so disgusting and stained! There was no plug for the drain and all of the drain and metal drainage was rusted and covered in hard water. The granite was mold stained. There was white crusty stuff on the bed skirt. I didn't even want to look anymore from there. I went to the lobby and told him the room was unacceptable and showed the pictures I had taken. He offered to give me a refund and I went back to the room. He told me nothing about checking out. This was around 10pm. I went back to the room with my daughter and we tried to decide what to do that late at night. As we were trying to find another place, the employee comes barging in the room!! When this is just my daughter and I, it was quite alarming. He told me he expected me to check out. I told him he did not tell me anything about checking out at that moment. Needless to say we gathered our things and left because I wasn't going to sleep anyways if we stayed there. I think the employee was trying to be a little nice, but failed at communicating. He then went on to cuss the housekeepers in front of me and did not excuse himself from the room while we gathered our things. So upset with this experience. I will include pics. read more

Adequate is about the best I can say. Pretty close to BYU which was convenient for our needs. The beds were ok and the shower was good. Everything else was hammered. The room has a mold or mildew stench. The finishing are old and poorly maintained. Cleanliness is questionable. The curtains appear melted. The sink barely drains. After being out all day we returned to find new towels on the counter but that was it for maid service. The beds were not made or used towels on the floor taken out. This place was absolutely lovely for our short stay. Check in was very quick and we were up in our room in less than 10 minutes. Room was very clean and was kept clean by housekeeping every day. Bathroom was spotless so I was very happy about that. Great location, had a village feel to it. There was a creek behind it and a nice walking trail. We loved that it was close to grocery stores, restaurants, and some shopping areas too. As this was a business trip, we didn't have the luxury to explore the town but it was nice to know that they were close by. Breakfast was very good, they had egg parties, sausage patties and a waffle station in addition to the typical toast,danishes, bagels, cereal, and yogurt. They also had fresh coffee, a variety of teas, juices, and milk. We would definitely stay again! read more

When I returned, I noticed it had "gone missing" when I called the manager to assist in this matter, he was very rude and defensive right away! He disregarded my petition to assist and got loud and stated that I have no proof, and per hotel policies- they are not responsible for lost/stolen items and was not helpful at all! Horrible place! I thought I was staying in a Motel 6. The woman at the front desk was clueless about how to apply rewards. She didn't give clear direction as to how to enter the hotel from the parking lot. As we're bringing in our luggage I see the cleaning lady with a little girl and a man that looks homeless. He looks at his reflection in a window and proceeds to lick the window...disgusting. We should've left right then. We walk down the hallway that looked like it had never been cleaned, the carpet was disgusting and the walls were filthy. The room was ugh, just bad!! It was 1 night after a 12hr drive so we stayed. I thoroughly sprayed every surface with a sanitizer. Worst experience ever!!! I've been calling them and they pretend not to hear me and hang up. I cannot believe they represent the Wyndham brand. Nice room! Nice Jacuzzi tub in the room, the room we got is huge! The location is pretty good also, plenty of places to eat within walking distance if you don't want to get back into your vehicle. The biggest knock I would have on this place is there is NO Elevators! So if you're on the 2nd floor your screwed if you have a lot of luggage! Or if you have problems climbing up the stairs to the 2nd floor. that's the only knock I would have on this place, they could also have a better selection of channels to watch, but that's no big deal. There is a very beautiful walkway park between the building and a river, and our room was overlooking the river! plus was nice they had cookies at the front desk if you wanted some. read more

I would give this hell hole a negative rating if I could. Here's what's up- No extra chair on balcony even though all other 2nd floor rooms have one. Spiderwebs in bed and living room. Hair on bathroom vanity tops. Jets in tub dont work, pool and hot tub closed, despite advertising. Fan in bathroom doesn't work. Half of bedroom doesn't have electricity. Screen door broken. Back of door has sign been ripped off. Ice machine out of order. Water turned off from 11pm to 6am on Monday night. Dirty band aids, diapers and trash strewn about the parking lot. Found a stained masquerade mask under bed and pink feathers behind furniture. GROSS! Employee refuses refund and it was our problem we didn't check first and blamed us for the damaged room saying, "How do I know you didn't do this?!" I waited a week before writing this review. I wanted time to cool-off from the horrific experience. I only went on Booking.com (where I reserved the room,) and didn't do my due-diligence as a Yelper first. Mea culpa! Funny, just like another Yelper review - Booking.com didn't ask me either to review my stay here. Wonder why? Oh, because they purport this property rated 8 out of 10. TOTAL BALONEY. So, even after a week - my review level doesn't change. But I'll be more reverent than was my initial inclination...so, at least there's that. Where do "I" start. This location is close to BYU-Provo. Period. That's the only benefit to staying here. Well, the man in the MORNING who worked the front desk was kind to my traveling companion - but unfortunately he isn't the one who worked the desk the night previous when we arrived around 1030-1100 p.m. My review might have been 2-3 stars if that were the case. First off - I made a reservation for two rooms. My traveling companion is my friend's adult kid and we weren't going to share a room. I was dropping her at EFY the following morning. One would think that it would be easy to check-in? I pre-paid for the reservation, provided my ID's ahead of time, etc. Well, it took almost 20 minutes to check in. The younger man behind the counter was a slow as a sloth. He repeated the same laborious process to check into both rooms. Then we headed to our adjoining rooms. One of the rooms would not open. I put the travel companion into her room, and went back to the front desk. The man behind the counter came out to escort me to my room. He used HIS card to open the room and then left. I went in, surprised, but minutes later realized he used HIS pass-card, not mine to open the room. So I tried mine again. No luck. So, I headed back to the desk and got him again. He went back to the room with me (mind you, he took the longest route possible to the room...does he not know the property?) He tried my key and it would NOT open. Vindication, right? Well then he jiggled the knob and tried my card again. Still wouldn't open. Then he tried opening the door in reverse fashion (lifting UP on the handle instead of pressing down, which is not how one normally opens a door.) The door opened. He stepped back with a smug look on his face and made a motion with his hand like I was an idiot and to get into the room. I let him know my displeasure and went back into the room. Obviously there was a problem with the room (#128...I'd check to make sure the door-knob has been fixed.) Once in the room, I found that the TV didn't work (see photo.) The shower had black mold scattered across it, and the slip/skid pad in the tub-portion, and looked "junky" over-all. Of note, the young man working the desk at the time we checked in, he told us to park on a side of the property that was almost completely full. The only open spot was next to someone who had parked wonky and would have assuredly dinged my car when they tried to leave. I think he steered everyone to that parking lot (is he patrolling them at night?) That would make sense, since after having to go out after the check-in fiasco and bring in all of the extra bags from our vehicle - I found that not only was the opposite lot practically EMPTY, but that the exterior door to that lot led RIGHT to our rooms. Super close/straight shot - and we didn't have to wind our way through the property hallways, etc. It's clear that either the young man didn't know the map of the property well, or he manipulated the parking situation. Not cool. Do yourself a favor. Stay somewhere else. There's plenty of places near BYU. My apologies to the nice man who worked the front desk in the a.m. - you were kind/courteous, but there's a lot of work that needs to be done on the property. I pray you get the improvements needed soon from the management company. Shame on Wyndham for allowing this property to operate in this manner. read more

The hotel general manager "Ishan" kicked us out of the hotel within minutes of me calling the customer service number to report that we could not connect to the wifi. He knew my wife was getting surgery in a day and that we had 2 young children with us. He said he was kicking us out but instead called the police to legally protect himself making it so that I could not even request compensation from their customer care number. When he confronted me in the lobby where I moved so that l could connect to the wifi he said, "What is wrong with you?" then bossed me around rudely telling me, "Come to the desk now!" He then demanded we let him into the room to prove that we were not lying to see that the wifi would not connect to our personal devices. When I told him no, he interrupted me over and over rudely, when I asked him to stop interrupting me he told me, "Shut up! Or I will kick your family out of the hotel!" He then just walked away and called the police telling them that I was being hostile but I was not. I recorded the entire situation to prove that he was lying and how he treated us. I also recorded him watching youtube soap operas on his computer in the room behind the desk, the door was open. I called him when I was in the lobby and he didn't even get up. When I called customer care they were also not able to get ahold of him because he didn't answer the phone due to being busy watching youtube. He was extremely hostile, confrontational, rude, disrespectful and antagonistic. He also lied to the police by saying that I was being hostile which I was not. This hotel was disgusting, does not have free wifi unless you want to sit in the lobby and get harassed by the general manager Ishan. I would rather sleep under a bridge with drug addicts then ever stay here again. This hotel is now on my companies black list. Stay anywhere else but here. The "customer care" also did nothing, even after I was told they would refund 1 day of our stay which they did not. When we called and looked online it said there was a hot tub, but it was not filled with water and was dirty. The hotel was dirty, the water didn't work well. There is zero circulation in the room and I could not find a single air duct so it was hot and muggy the entire stay. It smelled terrible inside of the room and there was a slimy grime on the floor everywhere in our room and the rest of the hotel. The carriage carts were broken. The wifi disconnects and is extremely slow in the lobby where you can get a signal, we could not get a signal in our room so I could not work the entire time we were there. This place, where do I even begin!! It offers so much for such a great price! Well cleaned neat room, with a desk, and two beds. Comfortable clean pillows, well made beds, and the breakfast they offer in the morning, from 6am to 10am is great! I wish I had thought to take a photo, but oh well, next time! The breakfast has muffins, pastries, bread, bananas, apples, yogurt, waffle makers, cooked potatoes, coffee, juice, different teas, hot chocolate, hot water, cereal and milk. I almost forgot bagels, cream cheese and jam!! They have a toaster for bread, and one for bagels as well! They have 3-4 different kinds of bagels. Really good ones too. It's perfect for families, or even if you're traveling alone as well. The hallways are well kept, and so is the front entrance. The staff are wonderful, accommodating, friendly, and understanding. :) A room like this would be 120-150$ in any other place, but here it is less than 100$, depending on the season. We went during Memorial Day weekend, and still it was a great price!!! Amazement all around! read more

Recently stayed here for a family gathering. I arrived very early due to an 18 hour drive and we stll had funeral arrangement to attend to. I appreciated the early check- in by the manager Bob. This is my 2nd time here and while both times i really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of Provo. It is a very beautiful town with many things to do. My room was okay, I always believe there's room for improvement in most establishments. Comfortable beds, lits of pillows and a nice large TV. The pool and Jacuzzi were clean and kept up well. The Provo River walking path goes on for miles. The mountains surrounding Provo are huge and beautiful this time of year with still snow capped peaks. The drive to Bridal Veil Falls is a short distance up through Provo Canyon. I love the location of Baymont Inn & Suites. It's within walking distance to many eateries and walmmarts across the street for those quick items needed. Hey offer a "Continental Breakfast" every morning, gets you moving onward to your activities. The staff is pleasant, loved Meagan and the housekeeping staff are friendly. Absolutely the worst customer service! Over charged my card. Front desk wasn't wearing a face mask. Pool smells like pee. I wouldn't even shower in our room because it was so dirty! My husband and I ended up leaving and booking another room at the comfort sweets down the road so our trip wasn't ruined! When I called to ask why my card was over charged the man yelled at me and hung up the phone! Never again will I give this company my time or money. Save yourself if I could do negative stars I would!!!!!! And I've stayed in some bad motels but this was by far the worst read more

This hotel was recommended by a friend who stayed extensively and had a great experience. We just stayed one night and had mixed feelings. The facility and room were nice and clean. We opted for a balcony room, but it was a little too warm to use it. It was nice being next to the river. We had plenty of hot water and the a/c worked great. The staff was polite and personable, and we thought the breakfast was decent, although space was cramped. On the negative side, my husband did not sleep well - his side of the mattress was well worn and needed to be replaced. The sink drained very slow, and the remote was broken. Management was responsive when we brought this to their attention. We enjoyed strolling along the adjacent river walk. I am sorry that the city of Provo doesn't take better care of the gazebo and benches along that stretch of the path, but that is not the hotel's responsibility. read more

Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, rooms are fairly spacious. Not much to complain about. The Wi-Fi is unreliable, though. We couldn't stream a movie on our laptop. It constantly loses internet, which is annoying. Our room has a fairly large mini fridge and teeny microwave. Handy! I was worried about breakfast after reading other reviews, but I found it was about average for the hotel price point. The breakfast room is teeny, but there is seating outside. There is the typical continental fare (dry danishes, bagels, muffins), two cereal selections, yogurt, eggs (powdered and formed into patties), and sausage. The sausage was better than other hotel sausage I've had. They also have make-your-own waffles. Ours was strawberry flavored. They were decent. The waffle irons make four mini waffles, which I thought was great. If you have little kids, you can please them quickly while cooking more. We did have a snafu at check-in. I made my reservation online for a king suite, and somehow between selection and completion, it changed to a double queen room. It was my fault for not looking at the confirmation email. BE SURE YOU DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CONFIRMATION. We were given a cot to help with the sleeping situation, which helped. I was grateful we were given a bottom floor room. No elevator?! I hope that's advertised loudly. Many people cannot walk up two flights. I would hope they would offer to carry up luggage for anyone over a certain age, that would be a nice service. read more

This was the worst experience I have had at a hotel or any business. I will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. They only accept a hundred dollar cash security deposit which I usually never had an issues or problems with. I went to check out of my room this morning and collect it when I was told they had to do the routine inspection after already keeping me waiting 15 minutes. I asked him if I could come with him while he does the inspection and he stated, "ple​ase wait in the lobby sir." I asked him," why not?"​He proceeded to turn his back and walk away from me.( My gf was actually still in the room on a important phone call). The room was clean, the bed was made, the trash was even taken out. I thought there were no issues I wish I took pictures. The manager returned and told me he was keeping my deposit because of the property damage done to the white bed sheets. I have a hearing impairment and he has a thick Indian accent. I told him I was really confused and asked him if he could show me the sheets. He said when he tried to show my girlfriend, ​she ran away.(​She was still on a very important phone call and I imagine completely embarrassed). At this point we're all walking up to the room to try to figure out what is going on. I'm trying to figure out if It's my skin color or some other prejudice reasoning ​but he clearly has a problem with me. I instantly knew when we all surrounded the bed and all of us were staring at the sheets what happened. It looked like poop. What looked like a mini size poop smear to the manager was actually a squished mini size Snickers bar that probably fell out of my girlfriends pocket between the white sheets while we were making the bed. I wish I could have flipped this entire situation around and made everyone laugh. I wish I looked the manager and cleaning lady right in the eyes and told them both how sorry I was ​because I was aiming very specifically for my gfs chest. The most ironic part of this situation was that the piece of chocolate was actually a Snickers but it wasn't funny at all, to any of us in the moment. He told me that this was happening to him all the time which really grosses me out now...l told him it's one piece of candy. The worst part was the night before I tried to do a load of laundry but the quarter machine stole my dollar bill ​and when I walked down to the office they didn't have any quarters in the register. When the manager told me I could wash the sheets myself and he would return my deposit I completely lost all composure and he asked me to leave the property. This man is a thief. I was so angry I couldn't think straight. He charged me 100$ in property damage done by a mini size Snickers bar the size of a 50 cent piece and somehow actually got away with it. I hope he never gets away with robbing his customers like this again. read more

We've stayed here a few times over the past few years. The place has become very run down, old & dirty. It's as if they don't care about the guests' experience anymore. Sad. Won't be staying here again. read more
