My favorite place to stay when I'm in town. Pleasant and comfortable. My kids love the breakfast and the fun outdoor area. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to make your stay nice. Shout out to Robin the breakfast manager, she has a smile for everyone and is quick to help out with whatever she thinks you need, including great local recommendations. Also Kaia at the front desk for being so patient, helpful and kind, consistently. Those ladies made our stay extra wonderful. I also love that this hotel is close to tons of good food, shopping, entertainment and of course, BYU! My go to home away from home! read more

It is shocking that this place is using the Marriott brand. The 2 bedroom suite we stayed in was filthy dirty, the curtains were torn, the pots and pan were dirty and had food stuck on them from previous guests use. The people in the room above us were very noisy. We complained to the night manager but to no avail. The loud banging continued throughout the night and we couldn't sleep. We had booked our suit for 3 weeks but were literally kicked out from third floor room to the first floor during mid stay. It was a very noisy location by the parking lot despite our request for a quiet location. The place is located next to a power grid and a Smiths gas station. It reeks of gas. If you value your health you would not stay here. The whole place is dark, dingy and absolutely filthy. This place is undergoing "renovation" but NO amount of renovation can improve this hotel. The ceilings are low, the place is dark and dingy. And there is filth everywhere. The furniture in our room was very dirty, old used and abused. It should have been changed out years ago. It is unbelievable that the current franchisor is using the Marrritt to run such a short hotel. The staff is incompetent and poorly trained in hospitality. They ran out plastic key and gave us only one. When we requested another one they by mistake gave it to another guest. The staff is not willing to help out in any way. When we requested the broken Tv in our room to be fixed the front office girl by the name of "Sabrina " lied and told us the tv was fixed when in fact no one had come in to fix it. The pool and gym are a joke. The gym is dirty and the pool is old. The whole place is run down and depressing. Please don't waste your money staying here you will regret it. read more

This was my worst hotel stay in a while. The room was extra hot and cooked down for 2 degrees after setting it to the lowest setting for over 8 hrs. It is by a power grid and not conveniently located to walk anywhere. The layout of the hotel was also weird. Wouldn't stay here again. read more

I got a reservation Mon thru Sat. At check in, I asked what availability is in case I need to stay a few extra days for my job. They stated 2 more days are available but no more. I said book them, in case. No weird policies were relayed to me at this time. Friday night, I find that I can leave Saturday so I go to the front desk and tell them I will be checking out tomorrow. "OK, we'll be charging you an extra day for checking out early". I said my original reservation was through Saturday, doesn't matter, you added two days. Never again. Dripping bathroom sink faucet 10 feet from my pillow, loud heater blower, stains on furniture, Best Westernesque. And you don't get an extra rewards night even though you're paying for one. read more

This hotel is very nice. We went to the front desk and the women helping was kind. When we got into our room it was spotless and perfectly clean. There is a small kitchen and a pretty large fridge/freezer. We got a room with too beds that was large for a hotel room. The bathroom was nice and the shower was also nice. Although it wasn't all brand new it was clean and didn't gross you out like some hotels. The parking is great lots of spots to go and park. The lighting in the room is also nice. There is also a breakfast but I never tried it because I had to rush out in the morning although it looked good. read more

We recently stayed here for a night. I was able to use the app for my reservation. Check in was good. After checking in, we went to the store and came back and our keys wouldn't work. We had to go around to the front desk to get in and let them know our key didn't work. They used the same key and "re synched" it. We went to our room and it still didn't work. We again went to the front desk, and they gave us a new key. It finally worked! After 15 minutes, we could finally get into our room. The beds or pillows weren't great. Bathroom was average (not super clean) and we also found a band aid wrapper on the floor in our room. We had people above us that were incredibly noisy (I realize this isn't the hotels fault), but overall we weren't overly impressed. We checked out the next morning and went to the Residence Inn down the street and had a much better experience. read more

There should be full disclosure (to guests who value their health) that this hotel is adjacent to a large electrical substation. The AC unit was the loudest and oldest ever. Be sure to bring your own fitted sheets for the sofa bed, as the hotel does not provide them. The sofa bed was the worst of our 12 hotel stays with sofabeds during our road trip. The carpet was so filthy the bath mat was black from our feet. We were told by hotel staff (which was the reason we booked this hotel) that a great place to let the dogs swim in the Provo River is right near the hotel. This is a lie. Not only is there no place for dogs to swim (it's shallow and full of rocks everywhere) within one mile of the hotel, but you have to walk through the homeless camps and their trash. read more

The floors in the hallways and common areas were cluttered with debris needed vacuuming. Also, baseboard around bed had not been vacuumed and was filthy. Only two towels upon arrival, had to request more. Unfortunately pets are allowed, which is problematic regardless of what they do to clean. Do not stay on first floor unless you are a pet owner! Managers are extremely rude to the employees, and working them like dogs. many people have left and quit this hotel because of a old manger, also the new general manger. everyone has quit because of these two. yelling at the employees with profanity verbal abuse. writing everyone up, where the employees don't feel comfortable to be there. There is also complaints about how they want rooms perfect in 10 minutes when its only one person with a full kitchen to clean as well. he never keeps what he says and changes all the rules of cleaning a room, or even faster, even when someone's ligaments hurts from a injury, and yells more to the employee. they had so many people quit because of these managers. read more

I arrived at this hotel front desk yesterday to check in. The desk clerk was extremely rude & arrogant to me. When I stated that I wanted to file a personnel complaint & asked for the the general mgr, she said she was the mgr on duty. I then asked for her name, she replied "...that was none of my business". I then called Marriott corporate to file a formal complaint. Marriott found another Marriott hotel & booked it for me. I believe that her attitude & demeanor was based on race discrimination. I'll be filing a complaint w/ the state attorney general's office. This clerk needs to be fired!! read more

I will never come back here ever again. I was only here because work sent me to Utah and put me up here. The very first day I check in, the front desks asks for my card. I told them that they shouldn't need it because work is paying for it and their account should already be on there. They told me it was for incidentials or ordering snack food. So I gave them my card, checked in, and went to go see a movie. I get out of the movie and I have over a dozen calls and texts. Residence Inn had charged me the full amount. Two weeks worth. Almost $900. I was extrememly upset. I get back to the hotel and I get to the front desk to tell them what happened. It is a different girl upfront and she confirmed that she did go through this with my co worker and got him sorted out. She told me that I had to call my credit card company and they would sort it. So I call my CC company and my CC company says they need to talk to the manager of the hotel. So I go back downstairs to the front desk with my CC company on the phone. The lady at the front desk takes my phone and brings it to the office behind the desk. I go to follow and she tells me that I cannot go into the office in the back even though they are on my phone with my credit card company. I told her either I go back there with my phone or we can have deal with the problem in the lobby where everyone can hear how they stole from me almost $900. They let me into the office. Once I am in the office the CC company works with the person there to get the hold off my account and to confirm that someone else will be paying for the room. I am very happy with my CC company because it is their job to be difficult, the guy helping me from RI (and he admitted that he wasn't the manager but that would slow down the process if we told the CC company) starts joking that my CC company is a pain in the ass. I reminded him that we wouldn't be in this situation if it were for them. The $900 issue is eventually resolved. But then the elevator broke. I almost broke a foot on it! It was opening the doors before it would level with the floor outside, it was a good 4 inches lower than the floor, so you end up tripping on the edge and falling to the floor. They eventually fixed that. Also, one time I was walking down the hall and a random small dog came up to me. I informed the front desk that there is a random dog in the hallway and the guy didn't seem concerned. I saw it a few more times that day before it disappeared. Hopefully if work does send me back to Provo, they never send me here again. Or anyone else for that matter. read more

Checked in for a week long stay, my room looks more like one you would see at a motel 6. The counters have a layer of dirt on them. The floors are sticky and there is hair in drawers and on countertops. I don't believe for one second that this room was properly cleaned. Thank goodness I brought sanitizing wipes, but still. I feel like Marriott should set a higher standard. Especially during a pandemic. read more

A super clean, spacious, and beautiful room, very courteous staff, plus full breakfast with fresh cooked scramble eggs, sausages, home-made style potato strips, warm biscuits with white meaty gravy, DIY waffles, free 24-hour coffee station, no-surcharge grocery shopping service... The list goes on and on. For a second there I almost forgot that I was reviewing a hotel!! LOL. The room is very attractive with nice decor, free wifi connection, with a work desk, a full kitchen with free popcorn, a nice lounge chair and also a recliner(!!). Nice closet space and vanity area. Bed is super comfy and I fell asleep as soon I hit the pillows. SOOO comfy! Only reason I gave it a 4 stars in stead of 5 is b/c I can hear the shower or bathroom going everytime my upstair neighbor was using them... woke me up from my slumber. it was very loud. It is a beautiful place with snowy mountain as its backdrop. If I ever come back to Provo, I will definitely stay there again. read more

The Residence Inn was my temporary home in November and December of 2013. I was in town shooting a TV show. For someone like me, who lives their life on the road this hotel was very comfy. My room was about the size of a one bedroom apartment. I loved the living room and the fact that it was clearly separate from the bedroom. The kitchen was full service with a normal sized refrigerator and a cabinet stocked with appliances, silverware and dishes. The beds are very comfy and the maid service even washed my dishes. The hotel itself has a pleasant pool area although the gym is tiny. The laundry room was adequate and the complimentary breakfast came in handy. The buffet had decent selections and the fireplace and plentiful dining space added a nice touch. For being in Provo at a freezing time of the year, the hotel did feel very warm and inviting. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our crew had to use their conference room at times and their buffet area one afternoon and this was never an issue. The free shuttle pretty much takes you wherever you would want to go. Provo is not the most exciting town but should you find yourself there try the Residence Inn. read more

This is my second time staying here in 4 years. This time I came with my boyfriend who also thought it was great. The suite we stayed in had a living room, separate bedroom w/king bed, large closet, bathroom and a small kitchen. We made breakfast and lunch in the kitchen and went out for dinner. It had a nice long desk along one wall for work. It was relatively inexpensive and we felt we got a lot of space and function for our money. Everything was clean and there was an abundance of linens and pillows. The staff is outstanding. They responded quickly and happily to anything we asked for. There is a small gym and a small pool which is ok to do laps in if you swim on a diagonal. The place isn't fancy but it is very, very nice for the price. read more

I will never come back here again. I checked in for 2 nights and told them I might need the room for a 3rd night. The 2 people at the front desk helping me said that would be no problem. I went in today to pay for the extra night and was told they were all booked up and I would have to find another hotel. Our motorhome broke down and we moved all our food into this room. Now we have to go out and purchase a big ice chest in the hopes we don't lose all of our food in the 3 hour window from check out and checking into the new hotel. If one of the 2 employees had only told me I should have reserved the room up front and not taken them at their world, then I wouldn't be in this predictment. This is the worst customer service. The only thing good about this hotel is Kylee M. She went the extra mile to find me another hotel. read more

Another work trip brought me to Provo and the Residence Inn, so I was only here for one night, but it was great. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It's sad to say but that is hard to get these days. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. I had a King bed suite that was very spacious. This property seemed a little dated in the rooms but the dining area was modern and very clean. I would recommend this hotel simply based on the wonderful front desk staff. Not clean. Smells bad. Outdated and run down. Only clean rooms once a week. Poor front desk help. We left an article of clothing and called the same day we checked when we realized it. Mysteriously couldn't be found. Marriotts have gone downhill recently. We are titanium members and no longer does there seem to be any perks like previous. Not sure if it's a local property problem or systemic. We travel a lot. Can no longer endorse Marriott. We recommend Hilton. They clean rooms daily and the loyalty program now appears much better they accruals deliver on perks and rewards unlike Marriott where it's now like pulling teeth to get any perks like they used too. Checked in Thanksgiving Day after a long morning. Check in time isn't until 4pm, but our room was ready when we got there at 945am. We checked in through the app and we got our keys and settled in. Even able to get the breakfast! We had been up since midnight so it was nice to be able to just rest before the Thanksgiving festivities began. Today is day 2. Still great breakfast available. And so far I've seen 3 different people at the front desk and all of them have been so friendly. I would 100% recommend this place. read more

So, I saved a couple bucks by staying here; as opposed to staying at the Springhill in Provo (which would have been my first choice). And it turned out to be one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. Sigh. The desk clerk, @ check-in wasn't pleasant. I felt like I was inconveniencing her. I asked for a room upgrade (hey! I'm Gold status, I've earned it)- and was turned down flat. The hotel was in shabby shape. The lobby smelled awful. I was reticent to return to the lobby, after I got to my room; but I did because I needed more towels. There was a new person @ the front desk the second time I went there. She was friendly. When I told her I would be getting up at 4AM the next morning to run a half marathon, she volunteered to have the kitchen set out a plate of fruit for me to eat before my run. I thought that was pretty cool. But then, after a not-very-restful nights sleep (the walls in this hotel are paper thin); I made my way to the lobby only to find.... Nothing! No hotel employees (there was a sign saying they'd be back shortly), and no breakfast. Major disappointment. All around. read more

Possibly on Tuesdays as well, but I wasn't there. On Monday I had yummy stuffed bell peppers. Wednesdays is burgers and hotdogs at the BBQ grill on the patio. -Free shuttle service which I used everyday to get to the BYU Conference Center and back. -Free morning local newspaper at your door. -Free high-speed WiFi with the convenience of no password. -Free small business center with Dell computer with 24" screen and printer. They provide equipment checkout if you don't have your own. -BBQ patio that patrons can use. -Walkway in the back. -24 hour snack center. Drinks of all kinds, ice cream and ice cream novelties, microwaveable meal items, candy & munchies, misc. items. All at hotel prices, but it is convenient if you don't/can't go somewhere late at night. Can buy it then or put it on your room bill. Service: 5 stars -Very friendly staff in all dealings. Efficient. Shuttle driver in the mornings was really nice. -When I first got into my room, there was already a voice mail on my phone. It was from the front desk clerk saying welcome and hope everything is right with the room. Very nice touch. They say that they just replaced all the beds and their next phase is to upgrade the bathrooms, paint, and carpet. Would like to see what they do because everything looks great now. Of course, I would definitely come back. I cannot believe that this is cheaper than the Marriott. I cannot believe how inexpensive the rates are. read more

The staff let me down, not the hotel. I am traveling with my mother to a funeral. After booking this hotel through Priceline, I arrived to check in. I was told that they would not be putting me in a room with two beds, even though they had one available. I was asked to pay an additional $110 for a room with two beds. I only payed $80 in the first place! The front desk agent, who was polite but not well trained to be a night auditor. He called the GM, Brandi, at home, which I thought was highly unprofessional. She also refused to put us in a room that would accommodate our needs. After contacting Priceline, they told me that the hotel should have NO PROBLEM putting us in that room. After Priceline talked back and forth with the hotel, they ended up giving me a full refund. I took my business to another Marriott property a few miles up the road, which gladly matched the price from this hotel. It was inconvenient, but ultimately I voted with my wallet. read more

I was here for a work trip and stayed in a nice suite. The room was clean and nicely furnished with a flat-screen tv in the bedroom and in the living room. I didn't take advantage of all it had to offer since I was there just one night, but the room was ideal for a longer stay. The kitchenette was nice and well appointed, but I only used it to make a bag of popcorn (which is complimentary in the rooms). They also have free coffee in the lobby all day (and also a coffee maker with tea and coffee in the rooms), and free and easy-to-use wi-fi. The bed was REALLY comfortable, and I slept very soundly. However, I could hear some noise from the surrounding rooms and could see where lighter sleepers would be frustrated. I don't think I had anyone in the room above me, and it might have been frustratingly loud if there had been someone there. Honestly, I was so exhausted I think I could have slept through anything at that point :) The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good. I had some scrambled eggs (kinda meh), a banana, an Activia yogurt, and a cup of oatmeal. But there was lots more to choose from, with plenty of cooked breakfast foods, a waffle station, and lots of bread items and cereal. It was pretty crowded when I was there, but well-stocked. The employees were nice and and efficient, including the young guy who drove the complimentary shuttle to the airport. It's better to have a car here (and parking is free), but it's close to BYU and several restaurants and shops are withing walking distance. read more

Ended up here recently during a fumigation/clean-up sitch...over Christmas, with a newborn baby and a healing-from-a-C-section new Mommy. Good times - noodle salad. THE GOOD: - Clean, well-furnished rooms designed for longer-term stays. Handy kitchenettes with a few cooking tools, small appliances, dinnerware, microwave, teeny-tiny cooktop, dishwasher, iron/board, etc. - Free self-parking. - Comfortable main bed and pillows. Nice down blanket on main bed. - Free and effective wi-fi in rooms. - GREAT full breakfast buffet every day; eggs, fresh fruit, waffles or pancakes, breakfast meat (sausage was awesome, ham not so much), toast (white or wheat), juices, milk, cereal, danish, coffee and all the fixins. Well stocked and cared for. If anything was missing, a simple request brought it forward. They didn't even care when we showed up in pajamas. - Friendly and efficient maintenance staffer who, despite the job he had to do in our room, seemed happy to be of assistance. We're pretty sure he's a BYU student with a family to support...so thank God for him. - This is a nice area of Provo very near BYU campus, so it's relatively safe and quiet, yet close to a couple of grocery stores and several restaurants. - Guest laundry room available on our floor with 3 washers and 2 dryers. Yup, that's all I can say about that. The two stars are for all the above. Now, gear up and grab a snack - this next part is lengthy, and deserves no stars at all. THE BAD: - A few front desk staff members (female) were terribly rude without cause. After we checked in, there was a billing mix-up caused by them, which never would have happened had they taken the necessary steps in the first place. Rather than doing their job, they put the issue back on us to resolve, complete with threatening statements like, "Unless this gets taken care of, you'll have to leave." Once it had been taken care of, and we had provided them with the information they claimed to need, they still harrassed us about it. Twice we had to prove to them that it had actually been resolved. There were no apologies nor attempts at rectification from anyone about this at any point. - Housekeeping staff speaks ZERO English. This was particularly irritating when the "Do Not Disturb" sign was out and they chose to pound on our door and interrupt anyway, then ask questions in Spanish which none of us understood nor could answer. After the first night, we pretty much kept our door latched because they would simply use their card to enter our room, without any attention to the DND sign. Why even make these signs available to your guests if they are completely ignored by housekeeping? - The pull-out couch bed was agonizingly painful on which to sleep. It featured a large wheat thin cracker for a mattress, and there was insufficient bedding in the room by which to make it up. When we called for additional bedding, they delivered nothing more than something resembling a horse blanket in texture. It literally cracked when we unfolded it, and I'm pretty sure it gave me a splinter. Never received the pillows we requested. - The construction between floors seems to consist of a couple of layers of tissue paper. We never heard our next-door neighbors, but we clearly heard the guests in the room above us; their conversation, luggage-zipping, simple movements around the room, and the frequent brain shaking sonic-boom of their room door closing. God forbid anyone tries to sleep when they flush the toilet or take a shower. Thank goodness they were only there for two of our five night stay. - Guest laundry room (the existence of which is mentioned above) required $1.50 per load, for both washer and dryer. One load of laundry totalled $3.00. Equation factoring in newborn baby = ave of 3 loads per day = $9.00 per day. And all machines accept quarters only, requiring a walk out to reception every time to get change because there is no provided change machine anywhere. This option is cheaper and more effective than in-house dry cleaning service, but that's about it. Good thing we brought our own laundry detergent or it would have been an additional $1.00 per load. The only thing we can figure is that this additional revenue pads their annual goals. Thanks Marriott. Happy Holidays. Glad we could help. Well lets see... it was free. It had free popcorn. The bed was small... but that was because of the free deal we got. Smells like new car. Pool... spa. ya know stuff. Dear parents... your children are under the age of 8... there is no reason for them to be in the pool/spa area at 930 PM. My only complaint has nothing to do with the place itself but people who dont understand that its time for kids to go night night. I know having kids is difficult... which is the reason I havent had any kids yet!!! If you aren't ready to leave society until your youngest kid is 15... dont have um!! or a sitter? Ummm... this place is nice any other questions yelp nation? do you want another rant? because i will give you one if you want one... no... you're good? okay sounds good. THE VERDCIT: I dont know how much this place costs but it is really nice... if you are coming to provo... which I strongly recommend against... stay here. You will love it, if the price is right. Clean, spacious, and reasonably priced. Breakfast is just ok, but better than most Best Western's and Fairfield Inns. The place gets packed though with many large families. If we head back through Provo sometime we'll stay there again for sure. read more

We very much enjoyed our second stay at this property. This time was for four days and again the pluses were greater than the minuses. Our room was clean, the bed extremely comfortable, housekeeping did a great job. The only criticism was that the lighting in the shower area was very dim and there is practically no soundproofing. We always knew when our neighbors were flushing their toilets, taking a shower, walking around or getting intimate. Although it's doubtful that the noise issue can be fixed, perhaps a brighter light can be put in the loo? read more

I had a great stay while here. Stayed on the 3rd floor so I didnt have to worry about noise above. The shuttle took me anywhere I wanted. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. My room was perfect for my week and a half stay. I took advantage of their gym. Really tiny but it was fine for my night run. Their laundy room was nice and clean and I loved their little office on the first room u can check ur e-mail or go on-line with free printer:) Enjoy my stay so much I'm considering to stay at more residence inn's where every I visit next:) breakfast was good. Lots of variety. The dinners on Mondays Tuesday and Wednesdays were ok. A bit random on the choices but hey its free food. Stayed here for business and was such a great place to come home to and relax. I enjoy my stay very much! Hope u do too. read more

We had a horrible experience here! We arrived at 7pm. They did not have our room ready. They told me they would clean it and it would be ready in 45 minutes. After 10pm I was still sitting in the lobby with 2 kids because they still couldn't manage to get our room cleaned. read more

They actually checked me into a room with roofers working 3ft outside my bedroom window! I will post a picture through my blinds and stepped back from the window so you can see how creepy this is - not to mention noisy! read more

Our family of four adults and a two year old stayed in November 2014 for three nights. We had casually mentioned it was my daughters birthday on our second day's stay and when we returned to the room that night, there was an adorable stuffed animal and birthday card for her. This is just one example of the EXCELLENT customer service we experienced during our stay. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean. This is a nice hotel, but does not compare to other residence inns i have stayed at in the past. The bathtub is peeling and had hair in it. The laundry room is also dirty along with the foyer. The staff is kind and very helpful. read more

I booked 4 rooms for family that were coming in for a funeral over a weekend in July. These rooms were not needed so I cancelled the 3 that were left in my name (more one why only 3 were left in my name shortly) on the Tuesday before the stay. My cousin called to take one of the rooms. She changed the name on the room, but did not change the credit card. A day later she called to cancel the reservation, stating "I won't need this reservation anymore. I'll be staying up in Salt Lake now." The reservation was not cancelled. After seeing a charge for the hotel on my credit card, I immediately called up to dispute this. I was transferred to Christine who was rude from first contact. She told me that she would have to have Chris handle this matter and he would call the next day when he was in the office. I never received a call back. I called them back 2 days after the initial contact and was told that I would need to speak to their GM. Casey is their GM and is a complete jackass. He basically told me that this issue was all my fault and that I had to go through my credit card company to dispute the charge. I work in a hotel, so I'm aware of how easily it can be done from the hotel. When I told him that I would like this reversed and that his staff has been rude about it from the start he told me "Well you know where we stand on the issue! Goodbye!" and hung up. Never have I been treated so poorly anywhere, let alone by a Marriott property. I am absolutely disgusted by the way that I have been treated straight from the beginning. I am now finding out what my cousin meant when she said that she would not stay there ever. When she called to make simple changes they were very rude to her. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! read more
