I was SO nervous to leave my dog, but they advertised unlimited play time which was what made me drive across town to take my dog because other places charge by the day for playtime so that was an awesome selling point. I like for my pup for get exercise, he's has a lot of energy. I went on vacation for 5 days and booked my dog and my brothers dog for overnight boarding. I begin booking online and a representative reached out to obtain my dogs records etc. Customer service was really nice! I was able to bring my dog's blanket and toy (I'm assuming he got to have it), not sure lol. There was an option for me to bring my own food, but I opted that he eats what they had. I requested pictures a few times via email and the quickly sent them over so that was nice, but video footage would have been really nice because I was missing my pup! My dog came back dirty lol, but I guess that's to be expected - so I had to bathe him as SOON as we got home. He had what looked to be poop or mud on his nails. All in all, I guess I would recommend this place. read more

When i picked up i was not even told how my fur baby did during her stay. Had to ask. It was like they didnt even know her. "she was good". During my 3 night stay they posted a few pics on insta but none of my dog and they dont have cameras so It would have really been nice to see how she was doing. Other places I board make a point to post pics of all dogs. She survived but not sure she had the time of her life. I would have no way to know. Not horrible but definitely not amazing service or any effort made to make me feel as if she had fun. read more

I was skeptical about this place because they don't have any cameras where you can see what the dogs are up to and they don't even bother to give you a tour of the facility when you sign up. However, a friend took their dog here and recommended them so I thought I'd give it a try. I've only used their boarding service twice, and this most recent time when I picked up my pup he smelled horrific. It was like he was laying in urine all night. His entire underbelly and tail reeked. I've boarded my dog a various businesses over the years and some were better than others, but none were as bad as this. It's a little odd for me to review a pet resort since I don't own a pet, but my husband and I have been "co-parenting" a schnauzer that gets boarded and groomed at Bayshore Pet Resort. I've picked up Kaiser (the schnauzer we watch) from Bayshore Pet Resort on numerous occasions and I am always so impressed at how friendly and caring the staff is. My husband's coworker travels often so his beloved schnauzer, Kaiser, spends a lot of time at Bayshore Pet Resort. My husband and I love this little fur baby so we offer to watch the dog any chance we get. You would think that Bayshore Pet Resort would be upset with us for taking away business from them, but I think they realize it's what is best for Kaiser. Because of this I really respect them. Kaiser's owners usually have their dog groomed at Bayshore Pet Resort before he visits our home because I have terrible pet allergies. (Technically schnauzers are hypoallergenic, but they aren't 100% hypoallergenic.) I don't know how the groomers get him so clean, but he smells so incredible afterwards! I think they are hiding fields of lavender and flowers in the back because he always smells like he rolled in a flower patch! The staff takes such excellent care of him even though he barks like crazy when they try to blow dry him after his bath! I can tell Kaiser loves the staff because he always leaves with a smile on his face. Depending on your needs the boarding rates range from $30-72 per day. If you pay in advance there is a 10% discount and they waive any medication administering fees and will upgrade your pet to the largest kennel available. The boarding rates include 4-5 walks per day, unlimited play time, and all natural dog food (canned and/or dry). Grooming is an additional cost. I strongly suggest getting your dog groomed after a long stay because they get really dirty playing with the other dogs. It's only a matter of time before we cave in and get our own dog. When we do get one we will definitely be taking our dog to Bayshore Pet Resort! read more

Eevee went for the first time yesterday for daycare. The staff is sooo nice and Eevee loved everyone. I called to check on her just because she likes to be alpha where ever she goes but Katrina assured me Eevee was playing well and having a good time with the other dogs. They emailed me pictures and gave me an update on her day and she sure looked happy. We got home and she was so tired for the rest of the evening, which is difficult to achieve for a 7 month old Dalmatian but Bayshore Pet Resort did it! Thank you guys, we will be back ! read more

Long story short Memorial Day weekend I brought my Labrador retriever puppy in for a two night stay. Upon picking him up he had been scratching and had all these bug bites. When I called the pet resort I had someone rudely tell me that the dogs are watched and the rooms are cleaned so there was no way anything happened on their watch although the bites and other symptoms were not present prior (diarrhea etc). I told whoever I spoke to that I just wanted to know what caused the bites such as maybe an ant pile where the puppies play and make them aware, I only got bullied to get off the phone so I dropped it. I then took him to the vet to find he had infections after a few scrapings were collected from the bites. I kept inquiring and was told they could be spider bites but they were unsure if this is exactly what they are. After about 2 months his spots have finally fully healed. We spent over $500 on vet visits and medications following his stay here. I rarely leave a review let alone a negative one but this was a terrible first boarding experience for both of us and I don't know that I would board my dog again but I do know we definitely won't be back here. Not worth what you could be putting your puppy through plus incurring additional costs in vet visits. Beware. read more

It has taken us a while to find a kennel and groomer for our Boston Terrier that we're really happy with since moving to Tampa a couple of years ago, but Bayshore consistently delivers. Our dog has short hair (so not much to do but wash it, pretty foolproof) but my usual complaint with other groomers is that they leave her nails too long. Thankfully, the groomer at Bayshore does a great job with her nails and she comes home smelling lovely, but not too strong of perfume (some other groomers have soaked her in post-bath spray and it's just too strong and can't be pleasant for her). We've jumped around with boarding her, trying to find a good fit, and this is where we'll be going from here on out. I had read great reviews about Lucky Dog but when we left here there for a trip home to see family for the holidays in 2012, we returned and found her very stressed and VERY thin (3-4lbs lost on a small breed in such a short time is alarming). The part that really bothered me was that the staff didn't say anything about the weight loss or the other details of her stay, just handed her back and collected the boarding fee. We largely try to avoid boarding her because of this incident but when our dog sitter fell through this summer, we went with Bayshore (having boarded her there once before) and were very happy. The staff were happy to relay the details of her stay when we called midway through to check in and she was happy and healthy upon being picked up. The staff is great and we've been really happy with the services provided. The reason we had jumped kennels briefly was because some of the older reviews on this site made me nervous but we have had nothing but positive experiences with this business. They are clean, professional, friendly people who treat our dog with kindness and compassion. read more

I boarded my dog here a few weeks ago and he LOVED it. They were very accommodating as I had made his reservation very last minute for a family event up north. The drop off process was quick and easy and the lobby was very clean. Before I picked him up, they sent me pictures of him having a great time during puppy playtime! Made my day. When I picked him up, they told me how good he was during his bath. Before he saw me, he didn't even seem like he wanted to go home. He smelled great and even had a cute little fall-themed bandana on. I'm seriously considering (and probably will soon) purchasing the boarding package they offer. We have taken our dogs here three times while we were out of town over the past three months. The second time we picked them up, they both smelled absolutely AWFUL. So we paid for them to have baths this third time. Today when we picked them up, the owner (Robin) told me in an aggressive and rude tone that we could "never" come back because our PUPPY is a pit bull (she's an American Staffordshire MIX - the sweetest dog you will ever meet). She also told us, in front of my 9 year old daughter - we lied about the type of dog she is (how could we lie? The dogs have been there multiple times - they know what our mutt looks like). Robin doesn't take the time to explain and tell me this while I'm paying but decides to as she is physically handing the dogs on their leashes to me making it difficult to hold a conversation with her. (After insulting our other dog for doing "excitement pee" - yes, some dogs do this especially young ones) She then proceeded to make the decision on the spot that she wouldn't allow our Australian Cattle Dog to come back either. She accused Mike and I of lying about our Australian Cattle Dogs breed claiming she is not actually pure bred. Mike corrected her telling her that she IS most definitely a pure bred, she responds with "oh good for you". What was the point in questioning our dogs breed then being rude about it when you were wrong?! On top of that, when we asked why they couldn't come back - she claimed "aggression" so naturally, we asked for examples of this happening and why we were never informed of this before. She had zero examples. She also told me if there were any incidents we would have gotten a phone call. After continuing to question her accusations with no proof, she claimed an incident happened LAST YEAR on the 4th of July. Our dogs weren't alive last year! How is that possible?? To clarify, we did not board them this 4th of July either. All around, we felt as a business owner, she could have discussed this with us in a much more professional manner. The best part of all of this? She warned us to stay away from the German Shepherd waiting to be checked in, claiming IT IS AGGRESSIVE TOWARDS OTHER DOGS. So the German Shepherd is allowed to stay there (though their website says they are also banned) but our dogs - with no aggressive history - are not? Her reason? The dog is a "long time customer". Mikes family has been going there for over 8 years (his parents dog was there today) but I suppose this isn't long enough. I'm not sure why we were discriminated against. If you have a rule about pit bulls - fine But our ACD? Completely uncalled for. We've spent over $1000 in 3 months there of which she told us was a "mistake" since Sophie is a pit mix. Mind you, her husband (and part owner) was the handler who took our dogs to their cages each time we checked them in so why didn't he tell us we couldn't bring them/the pit mix there each time? She continued to then tell us to go to "Lucky Dog" (where the dog died there this summer) which Mike responded "I won't take them there, do you think I'm that stupid?" And she responded "I'd hope not". This is a perfect example of how unprofessional she was to us. I suppose mocking paying customers makes for a great business. On that note - both our dogs received "baths" this morning at this facility but BOTH came home itching like crazy with FLEAS. However, this would've been a perfect time for Clio or Sophie to show aggression during their "bath" but of course, they did not. And she had zero problem taking our money for that though. My maltipoo did daycare, boarding and got groomed at Bayshore during the first four years of his life, (till just a while ago) while we lived in Tampa. He was there just about every weekday during that whole time. He absolutely LOVED going--LOVED it--- and I trusted Robin and her staff totally--they never let me down. They treated him like he was their own. When he acted lethargic one day (he is normally the complete opposite of lethargic) they called me at work so I could take him to the vet. He was fine, but I felt good that they recognized he was not acting himself and called me right away. That's how trust is built. I now live in CA and Riley hates going to his daycare and groomer--he actually SHAKES---this was a surprise and a first --I watch on camera and he's treated well, but he felt most at home with Robin and her crew, obviously. He'd run to go back into daycare, without a backwards glance. Now? He pulls at the leash to go back out the door and home. So he rarely goes. When I remarried, my husband brought other dogs into the family and we boarded them with Robin. I can't say enough good things and I can't tell you how much I wish her facility was out here where I now live. It is always a risk to put dogs together and it's one that every day care facility takes. Sad things happen, but it's not necessarily the fault of the facility. People love to blame, sue and call media, and some media outlets are sensationalistic and even despicable and irresponsible in how they cover "news." I should know; I worked with them daily during my career. I am very particular about the care of my little dog--and hard to please. I can vouch for the care Bayshore takes with their doggie customers and without any reservation, recommend this operation. We absolutely love Bayshore Pet Resort. Our Westie has been going there for grooming, daycare and boarding for almost 7 years. We have been to other kennels and the Bayshore staff and services they offer are the best. I feel the staff is caring and professional. What sets apart Bayshore from other kennels, besides the staff, is the dogs can run around and play all day and get walked without additional cost. My dog has severe allergies/skin issues and the staff is great about following instructions regarding his meds and special food needs. I always decline a bath from Bayshore after boarding and my dog has never come home smelling like fecies or urine. I feel 100% comfortable taking my dog to Bayshore. The fact that every time I say Bayshore, he goes crazy and runs to the car helps too! read more

We have trusted Robin and her staff completely with our two small dogs for 6-7 years. Our dogs have stayed for daycare many times as well as overnight & extended boarding stays. (At times we have boarded them for as long as 2 weeks). The staff has always been consciences about our dogs vaccines being up to date prior to boarding and they make detailed notes regarding their meals, any meds they may need and grooming requests/needs. In our notes on file the staff has documented contact numbers in case of emergency as well as maintaining our vet's info. The staff has been very good about keeping our small dogs with other small dogs (to the best of our knowledge). I was sad to hear about the tragic Yorkie story. I feel confident that any changes that need to be made to correct the issue from every happening again have been promptly implemented. We have been VERY happy with our experiences with Bayshore Pet Resort over the almost decade that we have been using their services. read more

I had a slight suspicion that she was not being allowed to play all day and I was correct. They break the dogs into three groups and rotate them in the play area. These people are horrible and the place is far from a resort. The dogs do not play all day they stay in a kennel all day on cold hard concrete. They are lucky to get an old torn up T-Shirt to lay on. The pet owners are lied to and told the dogs go out for playtime which doesn't happen because it is severely understaffed because the owners are to cheap to hire enough employees to properly run the facility. If you want your dog to be safe and get the love and attention they deserve please find somewhere else! read more

I really want to give this place less than one star. I have a very sweet 8 month old boxer mix. I picked him up after boarding for three days. The woman informed me that he can't return because he is a full pit, which is ridiculous. I had the vet papers, but more importantly his temperament is just a little love bug. No aggression issues with people or other dogs. It amazes me that a pet business owner is so ignorant that it judges on breeds and not on temperament. I have spread the word and no one I know will ever go there again. Plus the fact when I picked him up he was extra hyper, like they did not let him out to play with other dogs and he drank about a gallon of water like they hadn't given him any all day.
