I was in Duluth for work and needed a taxi to get me to Superior, WI. I wasn't impressed with the taxi company that I used the day before and the night before, I asked the hotel staff if I needed to arrange a taxi, and was told no. This was a mistake as when I asked the hotel staff at 7AM the next morning to call me a cab, every company said at wait would be 30 minutes or longer and I needed to be at my destination before 8AM. She called Bayside and they said it would be 10-15 minutes. I waited anxiously in the lobby and was happy when I saw a cab arrive at about 7:25AM so about 20-25 minutes later. I told the driver, Matt, that I needed to get to Superior ASAP. He drove me there without speeding like crazy and I felt safe, but also he knew my urgency to get there quickly. We chatted along the ride and I always appreciate talking to locals about what it's like living in the area, and we also chatted hockey. For my return trip, I made sure that I booked in advance and it was Matt again and he showed up just about the time that I booked it. On the way back to Duluth, we took a detour due to traffic issue but it was great as I got to see more of the downtown area and Christmas lights display. After a quick drop off at the hotel, Matt dropped me off at the mall. I gave him a larger tip than I usually do because his customer service was awesome. I also took this taxi from the mall to my hotel and then the next early morning to the airport. I had the same driver who was nice enough but I he didn't help me with my luggage in and out of the vehicle. It wasn't a major thing as I had a small suitcase but would have been nice to offer and help customers. I may be back this year and would definitely book this company again, and just make sure I do it in advance! read more

I made booked a pick up three days before a doctor appointment and was assured I was on the schedule and a cab would be here on time. At the scheduled time there was no cab. I called right away and was told by the driver/dispatcher that I was never on the schedule. I asked for a pick up asap in front of my building and was told it would be twenty minutes. After twenty five minutes with no cab I called again and was told that they showed up but I wasn't there. I had been in front of my building as agreed but they said they waited for me in the back alley. They said they had texted me, but I never received any text. They blamed me for the screw up and offered no apology. I missed my doctor appointment. This company can't be trusted. read more

Me and my friend called for a taxi, they said they'd be under 10 minutes. We waited for about 45 minutes, we hadn't heard anything. Finally we called back and they said someone was on their way and hung up mid sentence with us. We waited another 10 minutes and no one ended up to get us. Very disappointed. read more

We needed a taxi to the airport at 3:15 a.m. called Bayside and the dispatcher asked me to text my request. I agreed to do that and asked for confirmation that my text was received. Had to text again to request confirmation and then it came. We waited 15 minutes and called Bayside. The call went to voicemail and left a message reporting that taxi had not arrived. We waited another 15 minutes, and no taxi arrived. So we drove our own vehicle to the airport and paid more than $100 for parking. Texted Bayside to ask what they would like to do to make it right. They rarely answer their phone. It's just a recording telling you to call back. They only have a couple cars and even fewer drivers. When they have come to pick me up, they are generally late. Very often they just say they have no one available. I'm not sure how they stay in business. There are other taxi services. Don't bother with this one. You will just get a recording and they may or may not show up. Horrible service. read more

We recently used Bayside Taxi for our employees after a company sponsored event. They were responsive to our needs, professional and just all around great company to deal with. The taxi service was available to call the evening of the event, as needed. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. I seriously hope uber and lyft put this company out of business. Bayside taxi (and Duluth taxi companies in general) only care about downtown fares. I was with my wife in proctor and called a cab to get us home. We were told 15 minutes. An hour later and several calls of a reassured promised cab we were still stranded. I have personally never used this service, but after today, I absolutely never will. I experienced extremely rude and unprofessional behavior from a driver that I felt was completely unnecessary. To provide background, I was leaving the Miller Hill Mall just as it was getting dark. I got a new car a few days ago and the automatic headlights are very temperamental. Apparently they had either turned off or not kicked in as I was leaving (which is entirely my fault, I take full responsibility for not noticing), but I was flagged down by a Bayside Taxi driver motioning for me to roll down my window. I obliged, only to be told "Hey, turn on your fucking headlights, dumbass" to which I immediately apologized and corrected, only to be met with another string of expletives. Again, I recognize that I should have noticed my headlights weren't fully on, but I am still in awe of this man's behavior. It was something that could have easily been pointed out to me without the harshness, as I have done so with others on multiple occasions. I sincerely hope I just caught him on a bad day, and I also hope that he does not speak to his clients this way. I don't believe anyone should be treating others like this, especially while on the clock. At least now I know that if I am ever in need of cab service, I will just stick with Uber or Lyft. read more
