For a regional airport, I was very surprised that it took as long as it did to get through. This was partly due to them, again not even communicating with each other. In a time when air travel can be a huge pain and it seems that so many other airports have forgotten the customer experience the Duluth International Airport is taking a different approach. From the time you arrive at Duluth International Airport you are greeted with ample parking including covered parking in the parking ramp. There is also a covered Skywalk from the parking ramp to the beautiful James L. Oberstar terminal building. Inside, the terminal is bright and open with a whole wall of windows allowing sunlight. The lines at check-in always are quick and easy for dropping off any checked baggage and the staff is friendly. Then, it's time to go upstairs to the security checkpoint which may be the fastest security line I have ever used in an airport. In the gate area there is comfortable seating prior to boarding as well as charging stations for your electronics. There is also the new Club DLH available for a charge for those who need to do some work or some quiet relaxation prior to your flight. Sometimes it is a little more expensive to fly into Duluth as opposed to MSP, but if you can make it work, it's always worth it. Here's hoping the cost differential of the drive down 35 continues to get closer so that more people can take advantage of all that Duluth International Airport has to offer!

Says it can fit 7 (depending on size and weight), but I'd rather not share with more than one other couple. Neither of us had ever been in a sea plane before...pretty cool how easy it took off and how smooth the landing was despite a little chop on the bay. Next time I think we would bring a picnic and games for the park, maybe a suit for the beach. Seemed like the best beach in the area with respect to the sand, view and secluded nature.

The take-off and landing was super smooth and the plane was comfortable for me, my wife, 9 yr old and 3 yr old. The trip lasted for almost 45 mins and John took us through many area of Duluth and Superior. He shared details about every area, rich history and how it is today. The best part we liked about him is his liver to serve the customer. He was always looking to find an opportunity that will make the tour more memorable. He saw that a ship was going to the bridge and he timed it properly to ensure we can see and take as many pictures of the ship crossing the bridge from true 360.

We had an absolutely awesome experience tonight…read more We started at the Duluth Huskies stadium (Wade Stadium) and enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of the field, locker room, and grounds, we were also treated to stories about the history of the team. The general manager was our tour guide... he was one of the friendliest and knowledgeable people I've ever met! The stadium and team are rich with history, even down to the bricks they used to erect the entrance to the field. Dave was our bus driver and tour guide for the night. After the stadium tour he took us to Bent Paddle where we were able to samples some brews and enjoy the atmosphere, what a cool place! Their beers are outstanding! The 14 degrees ESB is a GABF (Great American Beer Festival) winner! I would highly recommend trying it. There's an awesome BBQ joint that will deliver to the tasting room too! We ended the night back at the stadium with a Huskies' baseball game. The won in walkoff fashion! It was a great game! We are looking foreword to another tour. I would highly recommend a tour with Duluth Experience.

Hi - This review is…read morea little late, but I am still thinking about the amazing tour I went on last summer, so I knew I had to sit down and write a review. I was in Duluth for my brother's wedding and didn't know anything about the city or the area. I was with my then-boyfriend and we knew it was a beautiful area, but wasn't sure the best way to experience it all. That is when I booked us on the Scenic North Shore Bicycle Tour. It was by far the best thing we did in Duluth (minus watching my brother get married,ha) and we were raving about it to all the weddings guests all weekend. The guys running the show were great to talk to and they clearly thought of everything. If you are traveling to Duluth and want to really have the best tour guides, book with them.

The inn has incredible character with ornate hall carpets, stained glass, and high ceilings. Check in took only a few minutes and he explained different services available during our stay. Our room overlooked the lake, a really pretty view. It was a deluxe room and had nice space for two people, with a king bed, desk with chair, two upholstered chairs, and a mini fridge concealed in the entertainment center. The bathroom wasn't as tiny as many hotels, and seemed as if it had been renovated in the past few years. The hotel included small bottles of shampoo and conditioner, as there were no installed pumps on the walls. In the morning, the nearby board room had coffee available (tasty stuff, according to my husband) plus apples, bananas, and an assortment of granola bars and similar bars. There were also some board games available for guests. Our first night there, on a Thursday, was incredibly quiet. No road noise, no noises within the hotel. Even the AC was quiet. Our experience Friday and Saturday wasn't as pleasant because we had very loud people on one side who were talking and laughing past 11pm and also had dogs that yapped at random intervals. So, just an unfortunate draw as to who our neighbors were. That was the only negative, though. We loved how many things were walkable from our room. We went in most all the nearby shops and bought a number of things, too. People should know that the parking garage is on the other side of the complex; valet parking is also available but we didn't utilize it.

In our room we noticed wallpaper peeling off the walls, holes in the window screen, cracked and peeling paint on the ceiling, a sagging mattress, and just a general sense that the place was not getting a lot of love. It was sad to see this great hotel in such a state of disrepair. I truly hope they can turn it around.
