I arrived with a Honda Fit sub-compact car into which I had placed 12 bags of yard trimming, mostly ivy and some other brush, no logs, about 400 pounds at the most. I'm told that I need to pay $50 - that's the price estimate for a small pick-up load on the website - in cash or check. That's not what you quote on the website. No new customer discount that the website offers. Very disappointed. I left because I didn't have cash. Some of the best things in life are free. That includes compost and mulch! Plenty of that for you here at Bayview Greenwaste! Bring a shovel and trash bag, and anything in the mounds in the back (compost and mulch) is free for grabs as long as you do the work to shovel it in yourself. If you're lazy, you can pay a fee for them to deliver you their organic products! I came here over the weekend to pick up some compost. As it was my first time, I was a little confused as to what mounds were what (with the exception of the wood chips pile). I believe I may have picked up some arbor mulch instead of the compost (they're both brown). Oh well... it was free! I'll be back again sometime soon to grab some more compost/mulch, and likely will have someone who works there to instruct me on which mound is what. For those who want to trek out to SF to grab some free "dirt", their hours of operation are from 7-3:30PM Mon-Sat. They're open during COVID! read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!! The "bookkeeper" doesn't know what she's doing! We've gotten bogus invoices twice now for dates we were not even in SF! They'll send you an invoice from 3 years ago saying you didn't pay it and tell you it's up to you to prove you did pay even if you weren't there!!! Then if you don't comply they take you to small claims court for $300!! They are VERY SHADY! Now we have no choice but to pay as we won't be in the state on the court date and it would cost us more to go to court and lose a days work than to pay the $300! So this is basically a shakedown to take money from you! BEWARE read more

All the mulch you could hope to have. Drive up during business hours with your buckets and a shovel, wave hello, and go to town. Free mulch made from wood and brush someone else has paid to dump here. I've filled my car up many times, and brought friends and neighbors along. 1300 Carroll Ave in Bayview, correct zip 94124. The manager, Sanjay, told me to mix this stuff in with regular soil. It works great. You can help yourself to as much stuff as possible...most of it is composting already if you dig in the middle of the piles. They always let me use their shovel, but you're on your own when it comes to loading it in your vehicle...unless you give those workers a tip (not mandatory). read more

I think I must have looked this up on Yelp and their SW leaves a cookie or something because yelp asked me to write a review. OK, it feels a little "big-brother" but I guess that is the price we pay for "the internet". What's not to like about free mulch and compost....free, as much as you can shovel and pack into your mini-SUV. This place says it is less expensive than recology but it is not! They are actually more expensive than Recology and the trucks move around you while you are unloading so you get absolutely filthy, at least I did. They kicked up so much dirt and they did not even care that they were only 5 feet away from where I was the only person unloading my truck, which took about 15 minutes. They were not around me when I started but instantly came over to my area when I parked and started unloading. Unless you have to go on a day where Recology is closed I would say do not go to this place but it was okay. They did have first aid supplies when I smashed my finger and it was bleeding profusely. read more

DO NOT USE THESE WOOD CHIPS FOR YOUR GARDEN!!!!! This stuff is contaminated with construction waste and who knows what. I just hauled away a truck load of wood chips only to find that it was mostly ground up boards, plywood, furniture, you name it. GARBAGE!!! This is TOXIC stuff! Do not use this for your garden as I have been for years and am completely horrified right now. I met with the owner to return the load of wood chips. He assured me they don't grind up boards and construction waste and while I was there in his presence two loads of 2 x 4's and construction waste was dropped off. He claims they turn around and take it to the dump. Why would you take a load that you have to turn around and pay to get rid of??? Makes no sense. They are grinding this stuff up and claiming that it's organic yard waste. Plus they sell it to energy companies who burn it for energy. They aren't supposed to be burning construction waste either. He also claims it is inspected and passes which makes me wonder who's inspecting it?! PLEASE DON'T USE THIS RESOURCE FOR YOUR GARDEN!!!! read more

I came for the free mulch and was not disappointed! All the wood chips you can shovel, as far as the eye can see. There are various kinds on the pile (whatever people have come to dump recently), so you can pick your favorite. Of course it's not all dyed the same color like mulch you'd buy in a store, but it works fine and I like the way it looks on my garden. read more

They have the best rates for recycling green waste and wood products in the entire bay area. A full sized pick up truck with sides only costs about $30.00 to unload.
