I went…read moreto Highschool (many moons ago) with the owner/head photographer and had seen him around town doing several sports teams pictures. I met with the photographer on a week night and my fiancé and I were very pleased with how he presented himself. We e-mailed the next day saying we'd like to give him a deposit within a few weeks and get the ball rolling. A few weeks later, I reached out to him and never heard back. I wrote back a couple of weeks after that and he claimed he never got the e-mail. I tried numerous times to schedule a time to give him the deposit (by check) and either never heard for him or he was too busy moving locations. This should have been my first sign. After a couple of months, I was able to meet with him to give him the money. When I got to the "new" location, it was completely turned upside down, although he did have a good explanation for it, but what bothered me about it was other clients personal information was laid out for anyone walking in to see. It was quite chaotic. Peoples sports teams pictures everywhere. This should have been my second sign. We booked our engagement photo session for a couple of months out because we were looking for a specific time of year to do it. After several reschedules (due to weather, not anything else) we were able to have our engagement photo session. We planed on doing it at the beach, and as we arrived (20 minutes early) it was thick fog everywhere. I called him to see what he suggested and he hadn't even left his house yet (it was a good 15-20 minutes out of town). He suggested we reschedule (not an option for me anymore, hair and makeup was done, work was missed to make this happen) so we rescheduled for a half hour later at a different location. We went to this location and he arrived 10 minutes late. Upon arrival, he got out of his car and his wife and 18 month old son were with him. She was not there to help, simply to allow him "time to spend with his family since he works so much". I was blown away. The child was running all around my legs during shooting, and the wife did nothing not keep him under control. It was extremely distracting. After about 5 shots of the session, the photographer/owner started to search through his bag, he then says he forgot his back-up battery and blamed his assistant who must've used it and not put it back. So this big business only has 2 batteries for 1 camera? So he left to go to the studio, with only about 45 minutes of sunlight left (because he was late) and he left his wife and son there. We tried having general chit chat with her but it did not go well. She was very cold and anti-social. It took him about 25 minutes to go there and back and at this point, I was extremely frustrated. After the shoot, I asked how long it would be to see pictures and he said 7-10 days. 10 days went by and I e-mailed him asking the status. I didn't get a response. 4 days later, I then went to social media (my private Facebook page) and asked what they would do? Several people told me about their own bad experiences with this photographer. Apparently he does a Groupon often and it seems he is just over booked/under staffed between that, weddings, engagements and sporting events. After advice from friends, I e-mailed him one more time, and he wrote back and said he meant 7-10 business days. I can accept that, however ignoring my first e-mail was bothersome. He then sent the photos and we were very happy with them. We decided we could put everything past us and not even discuss it. The quality of the pictures is what is most important, however, the next day, he e-mailed me. He stated someone told him about my Facebook post and he wanted to discuss it. So at this point, I was very uncomfortable with him continuing to be our photographer. He offered a full refund and I said I would think about it with my fiancé. A couple of weeks later, we decided that this just didn't sit right with us and we would like half of our deposit back ($250). He stated that our session actually cost more then our deposit (implying we owed more money?) and he would think of what was fair. I reminded him that he had offered a full refund and had screenshot that to him, that I was happy with the actual pictures and didn't want a FULL refund, rather half of it back to make it fair for both of us. He stated his accountant was out until the following Monday (one week) and he would have her send a check when she returns. 11 days later (that Friday after she returned) we got a check in the mail for.... 25 DOLLARS!!!! The best part, it wasn't even signed. I e-mailed him AGAIN and told him the situation, and he said his accountant must have made an error (ya, i'd say) and he would drop off a check. He stopped by 2 days later with the check. I would NEVER recommend him for your photography needs in any way shape or form. Completely over his head here.

She guided us from the start and asked many questions about the girls so she could create a positive relationship and find the perfect location to showcase them. Each location was unique to their personality and interests because Susan took the time to get to know them. Prior to the photo session, Susan welcomed us into her home for hair and makeup. Her make up artist, Cara French, was timely, well prepared, and also asked questions about the comfort level of makeup applied. Susan seemed to double as a photographer and hairstylist. Best Fresh Photographer for Intimate New Hope, PA Weddings!…read more We had the pleasure of working with Kasey Ivan Photography for our wedding in New Hope, PA. When we set out looking for someone, we were overwhelmed because honestly it's not every day that you think about how you would like to be photographed and then have to put it into words. We weren't going traditional; we had an intimate outdoor wedding at a B&B with a rustic and simple elegance. We knew what we didn't want, the "standard wedding photographer"... someone that churns out the same photo for every couple and then upsells them the standard coffee table book. From there we figured out that what was important to us. We wanted someone with a fresh eye. My fiance came across his website after a LOT of searching and it had a refreshing feel to it. Kasey's photos captured actual emotion. We met Kasey in person and he was genuinely passionate about what he did and was interested in our story. When he said that the more involved with our love story he was, the more emotion he could put into the photography. SOLD. He asked us lots of questions. We talked for a while and by the time we left we wanted to hire someone else...so we could INVITE HIM AS A GUEST! He was a great listener, answered our questions, referred a videographer and makeup artist, AND his fees were much more realistic than many of the other outfits. There was no way we were going to pay several thousands of dollars for a photographer's assistant that we haven't met, to come follow us around for 8 hours. And the bonus was that he didn't try to force a printed book on us. He was perfectly fine with giving the electronic files. We decided to do a First Look session before the ceremony for many reasons. At first, I was against it because I wanted to be able to see his face for the first time as I walked down the aisle. Kasey suggested that I could walk up to my fiance while his back was turned and tap him on the shoulder. That way he wouldn't actually see me walking up to him. This made ALL the difference in the world and now we are so glad we did it. I can't even express how important, peaceful and meaningful that time was. We were able to stare at each other, feel the emotion, take the time to connect privately...(while being photographed and filmed). I learned later that Kasey even helped my fiancé put on his cufflinks. What an amazing individual. Anyway, even if his photos sucked we would still give him great reviews, but we got our USB drives and finally had the time to go through them. They were exactly what we asked for; we got amazing shots full of emotion from the First Look, breathtaking posed shots around the barn and property, and then the "not posed" action shots we wanted...unscripted real life. There are some awful shots of people's faces, but that's what happens in real life. I'm grateful he didn't remove those because we wanted to see it all! And just to top it off, towards the end of the night we asked him to join us on the dance floor. He was so much fun and danced a jig...or maybe it was moshing, not sure...but it was late. He fit right in and that's what kind of photographer we wanted. Thank you Kasey!
